Mr. Louis Tahedl

Military retiree

Mr. Louis Frank Tahedl, 90, of the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, died Saturday, March 14, 1998, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Savannah Valley Memorial Park, Thomson, with Chaplain Capt. Lee Rodgers officiating.

Mr. Tahedl, a native of Athens, Wis., had lived in Augusta for 30 years. He had retired from the Army.

Survivors include two stepsons, Gary W. Rabun and Larry W. Rabun, both of Augusta; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of a military honor guard.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Starling-Hatcher Funeral Home.

Mr. Harold Williams

Military retiree

Mr. Harold L. Williams died Monday, March 16, 1998, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Starling-Hatcher Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewain French officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown.

Mr. Williams, a native of Walhalla, S.C., was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He retired from service with the rank of sergeant first class. He was a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Constance ``Myra" Williams; two brothers, William Williams, Langley, and Haskell Williams, Newport News, Va.; and three sisters, Pearl Watford, Aiken, Hazel Strum, Hampton, Va., and Helen Steper, Greensboro, Pa.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of a military honor guard.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Eric S. Robinson

GLOVERVILLE, S.C. -- Mr. Eric S. Robinson, 31, of Lot No. 9, Myrtle Street, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at noon Thursday at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home, Aiken, with the Rev. Kelly Williams officiating. Burial will be in Rockville Baptist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Gloverville.

Mr. Robinson, a native of Aiken, was a 1985 graduate of Midland Valley High School. He attended Aiken Technical College and was a member of Operation P.U.S.H.

Survivors include one son, Steven Robinson, North Augusta; his father, Johnnie L. Robinson, Warrenville; his mother, Martha Washington, Gloverville; five brothers, David B. Washington, Earnest Washington and Horace L. Washington, all of Aiken, Adrian Washington, Augusta, and Keith W. Washington, Gloverville; and one sister, Pamela D. Washington, Augusta.

Friends may call at the residence or at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Orlando Washington

Dixie Narco employee

BLACKVILLE, S.C. -- Mr. Orlando T. Washington, 26, died Sunday, March 15, 1998.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Rome Baptist Church, Denmark. Burial will be in Bamberg Memorial Garden, Bamberg.

Mr. Washington, a native of Barnwell County, was an employee of Dixie Narco, Williston, and a member of Rome Baptist Church. He was a 1990 graduate of Blackville-Hilda High School.

Survivors include one son, Crodera Washington; two daughters, Ebony Washington and Chrystal Washington, both of Blackville; his parents, Johnny and Patricia Jordan Washington, Blackville; and one brother, Cedric Washington, Blackville.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Macedonia Baptist Church.

Washington's Funeral Home, Hampton, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Marjorie McLin

Retired postal clerk

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mrs. Marjorie McLin, of 403 Birch St., died Monday, March 16, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley, with the Revs. Ralph Lever and Ronald Hasty officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Langley.

Mrs. McLin, a native of Aiken County, had retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk after 15 years. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, George McLin, North Augusta; four daughters, Elaine Reese and Susan Cohn, both of North Augusta, Karen Reeves, Greenville, and Norma Lever, Lyman; a brother, Cecil T. Richardson, Augusta; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brad Mauldin, John Lever, Will Reeves, Chris Toole, Bill Reeves, Steve Woodington and Johnnie Hughes.

Friends may call at the residence.

Mr. Verdie Love Sr.

Retired minister

SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Verdie Love Sr., 95, of 856 U.S. Highway 1 S., died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at Swainsboro Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Martin and Tommy Rountree, Manning Temples and Aaron Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, Norristown.

Mr. Love, a native of Emanuel County, was a retired minister and member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church, Savannah, and a member of Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church, Charleston, S.C. He was a member of the Savannah Kiwanis Club and the owner of Love Auto Center.

Survivors include three sons, Verdie Love Jr., Savannah, Ray Love, Charleston, and Grayson Love, Grande Isles, Fla.; two brothers, Marshall Love, Statesboro, and Early Love, Valdosta; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Drew Walters, Gary Peterson, Don Love, Steve Love, Bobby Olson, Wayne Walters, Keith Walters and David Love.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mildred Houk

AIKEN -- Mrs. Mildred Hendrickson Houk, 90, 123 Wise Hollow Road, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Corinth Baptist Church, New Ellington, with the Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Alice, Texas.

Mrs. Houk, a native of Siloam Springs, Ark., was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, June Craigie, Freeport, Texas, and Maxine Dexter, Aiken; and nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 1003 Hammond Road, Aiken, SC 29803; or to Corinth Baptist Church, P.O. Box 464, New Ellenton, SC 29809.

Friends may call at the residence of Maxine Dexter, 3046 Old Powderhouse Road, Aiken.

Mrs. Minnie Dawson

Retired homemaker

THOMSON -- Mrs. Minnie Dawson, 101, of Thomson Manor Nursing Home, Mount Pleasant Road, died Monday, March 16, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at New Zion Baptist Church, Wrens, with the Rev. W.L. Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mrs. Dawson, a native of Jefferson County, was a retired homemaker and a member of New Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include four grandsons, Smith Change, Walter Change, Alexander Change and William Change, all of Matthews; and six granddaughters, Zera Harris, Gibson, Alberta Cumming, Gordon, Shirley Atwell, Jamaica, N.Y., Hattie Dagley, Atlanta, Ruth Miller, Augusta, and Thelma Dawson, Louisville.

Pallbearers will be Willie Lee Thomas, James Thomas, Wallace Thomas, Larry Pitts, Charles Pitts and Lester Pitts.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and trustees of New Zion Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Freeman Funeral Home, Wrens.

Mrs. Agatha Barbieri

Retired seamstress

WILLISTON, S.C. -- Mrs. Agatha Van Steyn Barbieri, 89, of Edisto Church Road, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at her daughter's residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Folk Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Williston cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Barbieri, a native of Voorhout, Holland, had retired from the Williston Manufacturing Co. as a seamstress and plant manager. She was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken.

Survivors include four sons, John Barbieri, Orangeburg, Ted Barbieri, Peach Tree City, Ga., Robert Barbieri, St. Charles, Mo., and Richard Barbieri, Miami Lakes, Fla.; three daughters, Patricia Gainey and Andrea Roy, both of Williston, and Barbara Riggs, Aiken; a brother, Gerard Van Steyn, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Agnes Falldetta and Patrice DiMaria, both of Vineland, N.J.; and 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ellie Cleland

Civil servant

Mrs. Ellie Mae McCormick Cleland, 83, of 553 Waterford Drive, Evans, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at the residence.

The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Central Christian Church with the Revs. George Conn and Mike Hilley officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Cleland, a native of Clearwater, was a civic service employee at Fort Gordon's transportation section, where she received the Outstanding Performance citation. She was a member of Rhett Avenue Christian Church, North Charleston, and a life member of Central Christian Church, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the Christian Women's Fellowship No. 2. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 464.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Ramsbotham, Evans; a sister, Gaynell M. Kennedy, Sumter, S.C.; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles Kennedy, Nelson Ramsbotham, Ervin Floyd, Alvin Eugene Floyd, Donald Palmer and Doug Moore.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Order of the Eastern Star, Willing Workers Sunday School Class and Christian Women's Fellowship.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue.
