Mr. James Crapps

AIKEN -- Mr. James Woodrow Crapps, 59, of 1621 Pine Log Road, died Thursday, March 26, 1998 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Hatcher Funeral Home with the Revs. Harold Heard and Danny Hedgepeth officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Mr. Crapps, a native of Augusta, was a retired millwright and a member of the United Paperworkers International Union Local 01803 and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy P. Crapps; three daughters, Jamie C. Hawkins and Carlene Clark, both of Aiken, and Gloria Turner, Graniteville; one son, Robert M. Kamey Jr., Langley; two brothers, Billy Crapps, Clearwater, and Don Norris, Augusta; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Hobbs, Pickens White, Charlie Daniels, Lloyd Heath and Jimmy Rhodes.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Aiken Area Office, 111 Pendleton St., NW, Aiken, SC 29801.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Edna Doolittle

Retired sales clerk

SANDERSVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Edna Brantley Doolittle, 85, of 2365 Georgia Highway 68 N., died Friday, March 27, 1998 at the Wrightsville Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Christian Church of Sandersville with the Rev. Bob Raiford officiating. Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Doolittle, a native of Washington County, was a retired sales clerk with Belk, Inc., and a member of the First Christian Church of Sandersville.

Survivors include two sisters, Sybil Franks, Mitchell, and Jean Carter, Atlanta; two brothers-in-law, Norman F. Taylor, Sandersville, and Robbie H. Carter, Atlanta.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at E.K. May Funeral Home.

Gabriel Elam Jr.

Infant

APPLING -- Gabriel Jerome Elam Jr., 2 weeks, of 3174 McCladdie Drive, died Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lampkin Grove Baptist Church, Appling, with the Rev. Dennis Quinn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Gabriel was a native of Richmond County.

Survivors include his parents, Tammy Curry, Appling and Gabriel Elam Sr., Lincolnton; one brother, Tyre Wynn, Lincolnton; maternal grandfather, Abe Curry, Appling; paternal grandparents Delois Brown, Lincolnton, and Marshall Booker, McCormick, S.C.; maternal great-grandparents, Estus and Freddie McCladdie, and Annie Loue Burns, all of Appling; paternal great-grandparents, Walter Lee and Essie M. Elam, both of Lincolnton.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Moore's Funeral Home.

Mr. Grady Gay

Navy retiree

MILLEN, Ga. -- Mr. Grady Richard Gay, 77, died Friday March 27, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Millen Cemetery.

Mr. Gay, a native of Jenkins County, was a retired Navy lieutenant commander and a member of the Millen Baptist Church. He was a 1945 graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., and a member of the football team. He was one of the first fighter pilots in the Korean Conflict, flying from the U.S.S. Independence.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Carla Brincks, Jacksonville, Fla; one brother John L. Gay, Millen; and one sister, Sara Nell Gay, Millen.

Pallbearers will be his former students of Buckhead Academy.

Visitation will be at the residence of John L. and Evelyn Gay, 439 Gray Street, Millen.

Joiner-Shepherd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. John Gill

ALLENDALE, S.C. -- Mr. John Eddie Gill, 59, of 122 Hay St., died Saturday, March 21, 1998 at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Happy Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald West officiating. Burial will be in All Cemetery.

Mr. Gill, a native of Allendale County, was a member of Happy Home Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Irma Gill and Martha Kennedy, both of Allendale and Nellie West, Augusta,.

Cave Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stephen Hill

WARRENTON, Ga. -- Mr. Stephen Lee Hill, 42, of 102 Hall St., died Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at his residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester Woods officiating. Burial will be in Union Star Society Cemetery.

Mr. Hill, a native of Warren County, was a machine operator and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Vincent Hill, Warrenton; one daughter, Shaventa Evans, Gibson; two brothers, Paul Hill, Warrenton, and Barry Hill, Hempstead, N.Y.; and one sister, Alma J. Hill, Warrenton.

Friends may call at the residence or at Dawson's Mortuary, 110 Hopgood St., Warrenton.

The family will receive friends at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church following the service.

Mrs. Annie Lamb

Homemaker

GLOVERVILLE, S.C. -- Mrs. Annie P. ``Dollie" Lamb, 69, of 261 McDonald St., died Thursday, March 26, 1998 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Hatcher Funeral Home with the Revs. Ron Doss and Billy Pinson officiating. Burial will be in Langley Cemetery.

Mrs. Lamb, a native of Claxton, Ga., was a homemaker and a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Lamb; two brothers, Houston ``Bobby" Taylor, Warrenville, and Buford Taylor, Gloverville; and one sister, Juanita Craig, Langley.

Pallbearers will be Robert Craig, Marcus Claxton, Larry Newman, Jamie Hodges, Mark Claxton and Jeff Taylor.

Friends may call at the residence from 7 to 9 p.m. today or at the funeral home.

Mr. John Meyers

Retired civil servant

Mr. John J. Meyers, 76, of 3220 York Drive, died Thursday, March 26, 1998 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bellvue Memorial Gardens with the Rev. James Hyder officiating.

Mr. Meyers, a native of Bethlehem, Pa., was a retired civil servant at Fort Gordon. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the American Legion Post 63 and a catholic.

The family said that to his family and friends, he was a very quiet and understanding man and a hard worker.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hair Meyers; one son, Joseph Arthur Meyers, Hephzibah; one daughter, Marie M. Powell, Grovetown; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Children's Medical Center, MCG Foundation, MCG Alumni Center, FI 1000, 919 15th St., Augusta, GA 30912.

Friends may call at Poteet Funeral Home, Wheeler Road.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Brice Parnell Sr.

Retired hospital employee

HEPHZIBAH -- Mr. Brice A. Parnell Sr., 70, of 4352 Old Waynesboro Road, died Friday, March 27, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Revs. Tom Conway and George Clary officiating.

Mr. Parnell, a native of Richmond County, was a retired auto mechanic with Gracewood State School and Hospital and a member of Fleming Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Parnell; two sons, Brice A. Parnell Jr. and Henry B. Parnell, both of Hephzibah; two daughters, Harriett P. Corley and Mae Beth Reeves, both of Hephzibah; one brother, Daniel B. Parnell, Hephzibah; two sisters, Sybil P. Corley, Augusta, and Della P. Conley, Hephzibah; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Johnnie Williams, Bobbie Carroll, Jimmy Smith, Eric Woods, Joe Sconyers, Charles Avret, Bobby Parnell and Andrew Clay.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice Fund, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

Mr. Prentice Pattison

Cook Ice Co. employee

WRIGHTSVILLE, Ga. -- Mr. Prentice Mason ``Skeet" Pattison, 51, of 7852 Bartow Dublin Road, Wrightsville, died Friday, March 27, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Lang's Chapel, Sandersville with the Rev. James S. Spooner officiating. Burial will be Tuesday in Asbury Cemetery, Otto, N.C.

Mr. Pattison, a native of Bibb County, was a Cook Ice Co. employee and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Julia S. Pattison; two stepsons, James Eugene Kennedy, Elberton, and John Edward Arthur, Wrightsville; one stepdaughter, Naomi Virginia Arthur, Wrightsville; three brothers, James Aubrey Pattison, Middleburg, Fla., Ernest P. Pattison, Smyrna and Ricky McClellan, Macon.

Pallbearers will be Jim W. Spooner, Steven Wooten, Cliff Keesee, Ricky McClellan, Eric Williams and John Elbert.
