Mrs. Vera Kelly

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Vera M. Kelly, 76, of 985 Hancock Landing Road, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Windemere Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Kelly, a native of McKenzie, Ala., was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, George Robert Lee, Waynesboro, and James Albert Lee, Montgomery, Ala.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Doris Lott

ATLANTA -- Mrs. Doris Strickland Lott, 71, of 3626 Shadowood Parkway, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Kennestone Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson, with the Rev. Mike Timmerman officiating.

Mrs. Lott was a native of Dothan, Ala.

Her family said she died suddenly.

Survivors include two sons, Michael T. Lott, Durham, N.C., and David K. Lott, Douglas; two daughters, Barbara L. Lott, Acworth, and Anne Baldwin, Cumming; a brother, Clyatt G. Strickland, Winona, Miss.; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Herbert Cassamore

Warehouse supervisor

Mr. Herbert Cassamore, of 2029 Dunham Court, died Saturday, April 4, 1998, at University Hospital.

Graveside services will be at noon Wednesday at Southview cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery with the Rev. James Williams officiating.

Mr. Cassamore, a native of New York, was a warehouse supervisor.

Friends may call at Williams Funeral Home.

Mr. John Clark

King Mill retiree

Mr. John ``Jack" L. Clark, 82, of 104 Cokesbury Court, died Sunday, April 5, 1998.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Central Christian Church with the Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mr. Clark, a native of Edgefield County, S.C., was a King Mill retiree and a member of Central Christian Church where he was a member of the Hair Bible Class and a former deacon.

The family said that he was a loving father and that everyone loved him. He is now with his beloved wife of 52 years, Ola.

Survivors include one daughter, Sybil C. Barnes, Martinez; two brothers, R.D. Clark, Gloverville, and Harold R. Clark of Warrenville; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Ed Parker, Charlie Sidener, Leonard Cox, Jimmy McWatty, Steve Millard and Ed Tiller.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hair Bible Class.

Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church Organ Fund, 220 Crawford Ave., Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. from Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eloise Dixon

Retired food service manager

DECATUR, Ga. -- Mrs. Eloise Johnson Dixon, 83, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at E.K. May Funeral Home, Tennille, with the Rev. J. Emory Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Baptist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Tennille.

Mrs. Dixon, a native of Washington County, was a longtime Decatur resident. She had retired from the Decatur school system as a food service manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmie Dixon, Tucker, and Edward Dixon, Sandersville; three daughters, Annelle Norton, Bogart, Lois Christian, Jonesboro, and Vivian Brady, Tucker; two sisters, Runnell Lovejoy, Forest Park, and Lora Marzano, Newcastle, Pa.; and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Catherine Godbee

Homemaker

Mrs. Catherine L. Godbee, 65, of 1844 Derby Drive, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with the Rev. Rick Green officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Godbee, a native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. She had been president of Forest Acres Garden Club and a member of Augusta Woman's Club and Senior Friends.

Survivors include her husband, William J. ``Bill" Godbee; three sons, Thomas William Godbee and James Joseph Godbee, both of Augusta, and Andrew Walker Godbee, Fort Valley, Ga.; two daughters, Barbara Susan Godbee, Hephzibah, and Julia Ann Godbee Nevedale, Belvedere; one brother, John K. Lang, West Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Susie Pileggi, Grovetown; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Pileggi, Michael Pileggi, Marty Reese, Marion Reese, Carl Bethune, Cleveland Bethune and Danny Lang.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1725, Augusta, GA 30903.

The family will receive from 7 to 9 p.m. at Poteet Funeral Home, Wheeler Road.

Mr. Harold Hayes Sr.

Retired technician

Mr. Harold P. Hayes Sr., of 3872 Wrightsboro Road, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Hayes, a native of Evans, was a retired heating and air-conditioning technician.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Hayes Jr. and William H. Hayes, both of Augusta; one daughter, Shirley J. Porter, Augusta; two brothers, W.T. Hayes Jr. and James Hayes, both of Augusta; three sisters, Bessie Blackstone, North Augusta, Mary Lou Bailey, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Dorothy Rosen, Everett, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ray Hitt, Earl Fagan, Bobby Hitt and Tommy Fagan.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mr. James Holliman III

Construction worker

HEPHZIBAH -- Mr. James Bernard ``Jimmie" Holliman III, 42, of 3025 Mistletoe Ave., died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. William B. Blount officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Holliman, a native of Augusta, was a construction worker. He was a 1975 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School.

Survivors include his wife, Pasedena B. Holliman; a daughter, Zanita Holliman, Augusta; his stepmother, Louvenia Holliman, Hephzibah; nine brothers, Calvin L. Holliman, Glenn Holliman, Greg Holliman, Anthony Holliman, Juan Holliman, Shaun Holliman, James Holliman Jr. and Eddie Holliman, all of Augusta, and James Thomas, Argentina; and nine sisters, Betty Palmer, Patricia Hayes, Tina Jenkins, Denise Bell, Doris Murdaugh, Annie Holliman and Laureen Holliman, all of Augusta, Gwendolyn Bacon, New Jersey, and Geneva Terrell, St. Louis.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Holliman, James Holliman, J'Quan Holliman, Juan Holliman, Eddie Holliman and Karl Bell.

Friends may call at the residence or at Williams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thelma McDaniel

WARRENVILLE -- Mrs. Thelma Wooley McDaniel, 88, of 1664 Augusta Road, died Monday, April 6, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Graniteville First Baptist Church with the Revs. Milford Oswald and Gene Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Graniteville cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. McDaniel, a native of Langley, was co-owner of Mack's Market and a member of Graniteville First Baptist Church, where she had been a member of the WMU and the Jewel Gregg Sunday School Class.

Survivors include one son, Carlton ``Sonny" McDaniel, Raleigh, N.C.; four daughters, Jean M. Posey, Aiken, Myrna M. Sharpe, North Augusta, Mary Lynn Richard, Cary, N.C., and Carolyn M. Byrum, Gloverville; one brother, Tommy Wooley, Graniteville; two sisters, Jewel Kirkland, Burnettown, and Mildred Dockins, Columbia; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Frank Harling, Carlton McDaniel Jr., Charles Hilton, Daniel Byrum, Vince Jennings and Ardy McCoy.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home.

Mrs. Norma Mixon

AIKEN -- Mrs. Norma Gnell Hankinson Mixon, 71, of 100 Willow Leaf Place, died Monday, April 6, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Heights Baptist Church, Beech Island, with the Revs. Finley Limehouse and Bryan McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Mixon, a native of Aiken County, was a homemaker and a member of Heights Baptist Church where she was a member of Seekers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include one son, Clayton Leondis Mixon, Beech Island; one daughter, Susan Gnell Smith, Beech Island; one brother, Oliver Hankinson, Warrenville; three sisters, Alma Reed, Belvedere, Bessie Weathersbee, Clearwater, and Wadie Morris, Morganton, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tony Redd, Bruce Tanner, Marty Mullis, Andy Mathis, Mike Mixon, Pat Mixon and Johnny Morris.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Seekers Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to Heights Baptist Church Building Fund and St. Joseph Hospice.

Poteet Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
