Mr. W. Malvin Myles

Mr. W. Malvin Myles, of 1227 13th Ave., died Friday, April 3, 1998, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Palmer Grove Baptist Church, McBean, with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Myles, a native of Burke County, Ga., had retired from Sweetheart Co. He was an Army veteran and a member of Palmer Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Ronald Myles, David Myles and Keith Myles, all of Akron, Ohio, and Kenneth Myles Sr., Augusta; a daughter, Regina White, Hephzibah; and two sisters, Juanita C. Phillips, Decatur, Ga., and Dorothy C. Turner, Martinez.

Pallbearers will be Danny White, Lagone Melton, Michael Myles and Smitty Melton.

Friends may call at the residence or at Dent's Undertaking Establishment.

Mrs. Frances Palmer

Homemaker

HARRISON, Ga. -- Mrs. Frances Jane Palmer, 74, of New Tennille Road, died Saturday, April 4, 1998, at Heritage Inn, Sandersville.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at E.K. May Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Irons officiating. Burial will be in Coleman cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Twin City.

Mrs. Palmer, a native of Birmingham, Ala., was a homemaker and a member of the Tennille Christian Church. She served in the hospital corps during World War II.

Survivors include her husband, Leon L. Palmer; one daughter, Madolyn Whitt, Elkmont, Ala.; three sons, Leon Loran Palmer, Deltona, Fla., John Warnock Palmer, Elkmont, and J. Douglas Palmer, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.

Dr. John Phinizy

Medical doctor

BARNWELL, S.C. -- Dr. John Phinizy, 72, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Barnwell County Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Westover Memorial Park.

Dr. Phinizy, a native of Augusta, was a medical doctor and a member of Holy Apostle Episcopal Church. He was a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Phinizy; one son, John Irvine ``Jay" Phinizy, Barnwell; one stepson, Shane Arnett, Augusta; one sister, Katharine Mackie, Augusta; and one grandchild.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road.

Ms. Rebecca Strom

Pharmacist

MCCORMICK, S.C. -- Ms. Rebecca Ann ``Becky" Strom, 42, of Little River Subdivision, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Self Memorial Hospital, Greenwood.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Overbrook cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery with the Revs. Lee Kennerly, Steve Strom and Bill Bryant officiating.

Ms. Strom, a native of Greenwood, was a pharmacist at CVS Drug Store in Abbeville and a member and elder of Willington Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the South Carolina Pharmaceutical Association, Eighth District Pharmaceutical Association, Medical University of South Carolina Joint Alumni Board, Ninety Six Lions Club and McCormick Lions Club. She also served as a delegate to the House of Delegates.

Survivors include two brothers, Erwin Finley ``Lee" Strom, McCormick, and James Lawrence ``Larry" Strom, Willamston.

Memorials may be made to Willington Presbyterian Church, c/o Michael Dorn, Route 1, Box 274, Calhoun Falls, SC 29628.

Friends may call at the residence of Lee Strom, Augusta Street.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Strom Funeral Home.

Mr. Harvey Stuckey

Service station manager

Mr. Harvey Edward Stuckey, 63, of 3421 Cannon Gate Drive, died Sunday, April 5, 1998.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Seventh-day Adventist Church with Dale Tunnell officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia City cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Stuckey, a native of Augusta, was a service station manager and an Air Force veteran. He was a Baptist.

The family said that he was a loving brother, father and grandfather.

Survivors include two sons, Harvey Edward Stuckey Jr., Grovetown, and Ricky Michael Stuckey, Burke County, Ga.; four daughters, Sandra S. Cawley, Peggy S. Stuckey and Brenda J. Stuckey, all of Augusta, and Shirley A. Brown, Harlem; one brother, Melvin H. Stuckey Jr., Pickens, S.C.; and 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Lively, Erich Wilson, Timothy Stuckey, Scottie Bryant, Billy Phillips, Daniel Lockair, Tony Bryant and Tracy Bryant.

The family will receive friends today and Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. King Funeral Home.

Mr. Connie White

HINESVILLE, Ga. -- Mr. Connie L. White, 65, died Friday, April 3, 1998, at Liberty Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Simmons Funeral Home of Williston with the Revs. Israel Boatwright and John Young officiating. Burial will be at Young Rosemary Baptist Church.

Mr. White, a native of Barnwell County, was a member of Young Rosemary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Etle White and Bennie White, both of Williston; and three sisters, Ella Millhouse, Elizabeth White Cuthbertson and Janie White, all of Williston.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Friends may call at the residence of Ella Millhouse or the funeral home.

Mrs. Mamie Williams

BARTOW, Ga. -- Mrs. Mamie Fleming Williams, 77, of 1331 Charlie Williams Road, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at New Fleming Baptist Church with the Rev. W.E. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mrs. Williams, a native of Jefferson County, was a homemaker. She was a member of New Fleming Baptist Church, where she was treasurer of the Missionary Society.

Survivors include four sons, John Williams Sr., Johnny Williams and Morris Williams, all of Bartow, and James Williams Jr., Wadley; eight daughters, Evelyn Flonnory, Ruby W. Armstrong and Dianne Black, all of College Park, Charlie Mae Braddy and Mamie Johnson, both of Far Rockaway, N.Y., Annie J. Flonnory, Bartow, Mattie Flournoy, Louisville, and Barbara Williams, Riverdale; and 40 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and trustees of the church.

Friends may call at the residence.

Ms. Roxie Atkinson

MATTHEWS, Ga. -- Ms. Roxie Jane Atkinson, 70, of 1793 Mount Moriah Road, died Monday, April 6, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Moriah United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Emery, Jim Olds and Ken Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Ms. Atkinson, a native of Jefferson County, was a homemaker and a member of Mount Moriah United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Clarence H. ``Pee Wee" Atkinson and Johnny Atkinson, both of Matthews; three daughters, Virginia ``Jenny" Simpson and Mary Simpson, both of Union Point, and Catherine Petrea, Waynesboro; two sisters, Georgia L. Freeman, Wrens, and Eva Irene Henderson, Mooresville, Ind.; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Atkinson, Keith Simpson, Kevin Simpson, Charles Marshall, Don Freeman, Preston Prescott, Lewis Brassell, Fred Petrea and Lamar Johnson.

Friends may call at the home of Johnny and Darlene Atkinson, 1815 Mount Moriah Road.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at James and Lowe Funeral Home.

Mr. Larry Doby

Retiree

Mr. Larry Doby, 48, of 1611 Cornell Drive, died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hale Street Baptist Church with the Rev. James C. Kendricks officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Doby was retired and was a member of Hale Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Doby; one son, Terrell Kyler, Augusta; two daughters, Carol Clark, Columbus, Ga., and LaDonna Taylor, Vandenberg, Calif.; three brothers, Harry Doby and Edward Doby, both of Augusta, and Walter Doby, Maryland; four sisters, Jeannette Mims and Veronica Anderson, both of Augusta, and Bertha Doby and Helen Doby, both of Newark, N.J.; and six grandchildren.

Peoples Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Velma Hutto

PERRY, S.C. -- Mrs. Velma Hooker Hutto, 73, of 121 Center St., died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehab Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Perry Baptist Church with the Rev. James Way and Cliff Jines officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mrs. Hutto, a native of Aiken County, was an employee of the South Carolina Forestry Commission and a member of Perry Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gene Ray Hutto, Lexington, and Stevens Hutto, North Augusta; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Friends may call at Blizzard Funeral Home, Wagener.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
