Mrs. Martha Jeffcoat

Former personnel manager

Mrs. Martha Radford Jeffcoat, 51, of 331 Padrick St., died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Clearview Baptist Church with the Rev. Lanny Cannuette and Wiladean Myers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Jeffcoat, a native of Riddleville, Ga., was a former personnel manager with Boral Brick Co. and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. She had been state president of the American Managers Association and president of the CSRA International Management Council.

The family said our sister, aunt and friend, through your strength, courage and deep faith in Christ, you gave us so much and asked for little but love.

Survivors include one stepdaughter, Brenda Ramsey; one brother, Franklin Rachels; four sisters, Polly Macken, Sue Rainer, Geneva Dubose and Mary Jo McNeel; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Walker, Mark Radford, Johnny Lowe, Jeremy Daman, Paul Eubanks, Duane Deese, James Yelton, David Payton, Mike Radford, Keith Lowe, Allen Lowe and Jay Rachels.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Thomas L. King Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brice Key

Graniteville Co. retiree

AIKEN -- Mrs. Brice Rodgers Key, 79, of 3608 Vaucluse Road, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. in Graniteville Cemetery, Graniteville, with the Rev. Derrick Cutter officiating.

Mrs. Key, a native of Saluda, was retired from Graniteville Co., Vaucluse Division, and was a member of the Salvation Army Church.

Survivors include one son, Foster Key, Aiken; one daughter, Brenda Key Widener, Aiken; one brother, James Rodgers, Aiken; two sisters, Ella Mae Quattlebaum, Aiken, and Cora Storey, Saluda; and five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence of Brenda Widener, 3810 Vaucluse Road.

Napier Funeral Home, Graniteville, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Alfreda Lazenby

THOMSON -- Mrs. Alfreda Harris Lazenby, 73, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at McDuffie County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Liberty Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. William Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Old Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lazenby, a native of McDuffie County, was a homemaker and a member of McDuffie County Leisure Services and Liberty Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Eli Harris, Thomson, and Cornelius Harris, Florida; and one sister, Lucindy Swindale, New York.

Friends may call at the residence of Eli and Lillie Harris, 568 Twin Oaks Road.

Mr. Richard Makerson Sr.

Retired construction worker

Mr. Richard Makerson Sr., of 517 Gilbert Manor, died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Herrington officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.

Mr. Makerson, a native of Chesnee, S.C., was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include five sons, Richard Makerson Jr., Ronald Makerson, Willie James Hunt Sr. and Charles Hunt Sr., all of Augusta, and Richardson Makerson, Washington; four daughters, Barbara Makerson, Cheryl Makerson and Mae Frances Green, all of Augusta, and Julia Mae Makerson, Washington; one sister, Julia M. McKinney, Chesnee; and 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence or Williams Funeral Home.

Lavarsay McCain

Student

Lavarsay Rodriquez McCain, of 1741 Sunset Ave., Apt. A-1, died Friday, April 3, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Mount Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Andrew Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.

Lavarsay, a native of Augusta, was a student at T.W. Josey High School and a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Sandra Seymore, Augusta; his stepfather, Robert Seymore, Augusta; four brothers, Reginald Boozer, Robert Seymore, Raphael McCain and Leland Bryant, all of Augusta; two sisters, Martine McCain and La'Tarshia Hooks, both of Augusta; his grandmother, Mae McCain, Augusta; his grandfather, Willie Joe McCain, Washington; and his great-grandmother, Daisy Palmer, Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Jamilah Thomas, James Bonner, Shelton Toomer, Antonio Brown, Carlos Hooks, Carltvez Trimble and Michael McRae.

Friends may call at the residence or Williams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Norma Mixon

Homemaker

AIKEN -- Mrs. Norma Gnell Hankinson Mixon, 71, of 100 Willow Leaf Place, died Monday, April 6, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

The funeral was Tuesday at Heights Baptist Church, Beech Island, with the Revs. Finley Limehouse and Bryan McIntosh officiating. Burial was in Pineview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Mixon, a native of Aiken County, was a homemaker and a member of Heights Baptist Church where she was a member of Seekers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include one son, Clayton Leondis Mixon, Beech Island; one daughter, Susan Gnell Smith, Roswell, Ga.; one brother, Oliver Hankinson, Warrenville; three sisters, Alma Redd, Belvedere, Bessie Weathersbee, Clearwater, and Wadie Morris, Morganton, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tony Redd, Bruce Tanner, Marty Mullis, Andy Mathis, Mike Mixon, Pat Mixon and Johnny Morris.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Seekers Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Heights Baptist Church Building Fund and St. Joseph Hospice.

Mr. Dan Rogers

Retired chef

HURTSBORO, Ala. -- Mr. Dan Pat Rogers died Tuesday, April 2, 1998, in Harrisburg, Pa.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mark Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeffery Van Buren officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Rogers, a native of Gurreyton, was a retired chef and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Lillie Mae Winters, Phenix City; two brothers, Curley Rogers, Miami, and Jimmy Rogers, Thomson; and five sisters, Annie Mae Willis and Sylvia Eland, both of Phenix City, Susie Mae Permetter, Shawnee, Okla., Josephine Hooks, Augusta, and Charlene Johnson, Columbus, Ga.

Friends may call at the residence of Josephine Hooks, 3302 Deans Bridge Road.

Mrs. Freddie Scott

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Freddie L. Scott, of 299 Holmes Road, died Saturday, April 4, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Burke County True Church of God in Christ, Girard, with the Rev. B.J. Lawson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Scott, a native of Girard, was a homemaker and a member of Burke County True Church of God in Christ.

Survivors include four sons, George Scott and Leroy H. Scott, both of Savannah, Willis Scott, Miami, and James Scott, Girard; six daughters, Mina Manker and Josie M. Manker, both of Savannah, Velma Holmes and Louise Holmes, both of Waynesboro, Thelma Gould, Girard, and Annie Gould, Miami; and 55 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. Udell Aaron

Retired business manager

SYLVANIA, Ga. -- Mrs. Udell Minchey Aaron, 81, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at Sylview Health Care Center.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sonny Mason officiating. Burial will be in Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Aaron, a native of Screven County, was a retired business manager with Aaron Oil Co. and A & A Transport Co. She was a graduate of Sylvania High School and Bowen Business College, Savannah. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Ellis Miller Sunday School Class and the Nellie Morel Hill Circle. She had been a member of Sylvania Woman Club and the Sylvania Garden Club.

Survivors include two sons, Rupert L. Aaron and Don G. Aaron Sr., both of Sylvania; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rupert L. Aaron, Don G. Aaron Sr., Larry Aaron, Don G. Aaron Jr., Charlie Aaron and William Thomas.

Memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of Sylvania First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 256, Sylvania, GA 30467.

Mr. Carlos Boles

Army retiree

Mr. Carlos Lee Boles died Sunday, April 5, 1998.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Harmonia Baptist Church, Varnville, S.C. Burial will be in Harmonia Cemetery, Varnville.

Mr. Boles, a native of Hampton County, S.C., was retired from the Army, where he served as a sergeant. He was a member of Harmonia Baptist Church and Antioch Masonic Lodge No. 91. He was a 1980 graduate of Wade Hampton High School, Varnville.

Survivors include one son, Carlos Lee Boles Jr.; his father, Roosevelt Boles, Early Branch, S.C.; his mother, Georgie C. Bennett, Varnville; his stepfather, Isaac Bennett; two brothers, Johnny Boles, Varnville, and Roosevelt Boles Jr., Early Branch; five sisters, Rhonda B. Murdaugh and Linda B. Jones, both of Varnville, Barbara Gilbert and Felicia Curley, both of Early Branch, and Diane B. Cuylear, Hampton; one stepbrother, Anthony Richardson, Early Branch; one stepsister, Silvia Richardson, Charlotte, N.C.; and his grandfather, John Coker, Varnville.
