Ms. Estella Jones

Gracewood State Hospital retiree

Ms. Estella M. Cason Jones, 74, of 1106 13th St., died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Larry Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Walker cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Ms. Jones, a native of Jefferson County, had retired from Gracewood State School and Hospital. She was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served on the steward and stewardess boards and sang in the senior choir.

Survivors include a son, Calvin L. Jones, Augusta; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tony Mills, Walker Middleton, LeNeski Middleton, Teddy Taylor, Charlie White, Rick Kelly, Mike Kelly and Tony Jones.

Friends may call at the residence or at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Luther Matt

Army retiree

HEPHZIBAH -- Mr. Luther Wayne Matt, 40, died Friday, April 10, 1998, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hephzibah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Almy officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. in New Hollywood cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Lumberton, N.C.

Mr. Matt, a native of Lumberton, had retired from the Army after 19 years and had retired from the Securities and Exchange Commission. He was a member of Hephzibah United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Wright Matt; a son, Brandon Wayne Matt, Hephzibah; a daughter, Brandy Jean Matt, Hephzibah; his mother, Joyce Matt, Lumberton; and three brothers, John Matt and James Matt, both of Hazel Park, Mich., and Donald Matt, Royal Oak, Mich.

Pallbearers will be members of a military honor guard.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1725, Augusta, GA 30903.

Friends may call at the residence or Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lillie Moore

MIAMI -- Mrs. Lillie Williams Moore, 66, of 15720 N.W. 28th Place, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Parkway Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Brinson Rock Baptist Church, Millen, Ga., with the Rev. Robert Reese officiating. Burial will be in New Millen cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Millen.

Mrs. Moore was a native of Miami.

Survivors include two sons, Wesley Moore and Michael Moore; eight daughters, Gwendolyn Griffin, Erma Alexander, Leslie Lofters, Dora Austin, Debra Campbell, Stephanie Henry, Vivian Danzie and Michelle Moore; two brothers, Raymond Sapp and Rufus Sharpe; and five sisters, Clara Allen, Carrie Lovette, Hattie Alvin, Mary Johnson and Ethel Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon Monday at Dwight's Funeral Home, Millen.

Mr. Ollie Anderson

Medical College of Georgia employee

Mr. Ollie Anderson Jr., 46, of 1806 E. Hillsview Court, died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m Friday at Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Lessel Leonard officiating. Burial will be in Southview cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson, a native of Augusta, was a maintenance employee with Medical College of Georgia and a member of United One Way Baptist Church.

The family said, ``He was a devoted father and a loving brother. He touched the lives of all who knew him. We love and will miss him very much."

Survivors include his wife, Lottie Lyons Anderson; one son, Ollie Anderson III, Augusta; two daughters, Alicia Murray, Philadelphia, and Ardrina Anderson, Atlanta; one stepson, Darrell McDaniel, Atlanta; one stepdaughter, Latosha Yvette McDaniel, Augusta; his father, Ollie Anderson Sr., Augusta; his mother, Carrie Walker, Augusta; five sisters, Liz McClendon, Betty McClendon, Carrie Anderson and Anna Thompkins, all of Augusta, and Barbara Turner, Florida; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be William Middleton, Leneski Middleton, Teddy Taylor, Tony Mills, Calvin Jones and Walker Middleton.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Medical College of Georgia maintenance department.

Friends may call at the residence or 1931 Old Savannah Road.

Mr. Robert Reynolds

Retired farmer

DAVISBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Robert Reynolds, 83, of 11017 Georgia Highway 231, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Camp Spring Baptist Church, Riddleville, with the Rev. Wilbert Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Reynolds, a native of Washington County, was a retired farmer and sawmill worker.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Brown Reynolds; seven sons, Cecil Reynolds, Louisville, Walter Reynolds, Bartow, Lester Reynolds, Tennille, Robert Lewis Reynolds, Harrison, Willie Frank Reynolds and John Willie Reynolds, both of Davisboro, and Eddie Lee Reynolds, Jacksonville, Fla.; six daughters, Essie Mae Lovett, Tennille, Annette Reynolds, Grace Reynolds, Jeanette Reynolds and Barbara Reynolds, all of Davisboro, and Effie Poole, Sandersville; and 44 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Sandersville, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Marguerite Corley

Food service manager

WINDSOR -- Mrs. Marguerite Corley, 40, of 620 Stillwater Road, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Christian Family Alliance Church, North Augusta, with the Revs. Tommie Butler and Robert Turner officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park, Augusta.

Mrs. Corley, a native of Aiken County was a food service manager with Aiken High School and a member of Christian Family Alliance Center, where she was a member of the choir.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony Corley; one son, Tyree Madison, North Augusta; one daughter, Margie Antonia Corley, Windsor; her father, Johnny Reese Curry Sr., North Augusta; her mother, Sara Schoultz Curry, North Augusta; her stepmother, Juanita Curry, North Augusta; four brothers, Anthony Williams, Jasper Curry and Johnny Reese Curry Jr., all of North Augusta, and John Henry Curry Jr., Augusta; four sisters, Janice Brown, Columbia, Patricia Butler and Shantra Butler, both of Augusta, and Sherri Amanda Curry, North Augusta; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence or G.L. Brightharp and Sons Mortuary, North Augusta.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Willie Sheppard

Department of Transportation employee

WASHINGTON, Ga. -- Mr. Willie Joe ``Buster" Sheppard, 84, of 304 East St., died Thursday, April 9, 1998.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at New Hope Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Roy Andrews officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Sheppard, a native of Wilkes County, was an employee of the Department of Transportation and a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Sheppard and Otis Sheppard, both of Detroit, and Jack Sheppard, Atlanta; seven daughters, Marian Sheppard, Washington, Edna Chilshalm, Landover, Md., Betty Hamilton, Stone Mountain, Jannette Thomas, Lilburn, Clara Sheppard, Jamaica, N.Y., Peggy Hallingworth, Detroit, and Janice Hall, Lithonia; and 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

McLendon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Yvonne Warner

Homemaker

SYLVANIA, Ga. -- Mrs. Yvonne Fleenor Warner, 75, died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Candler Hospital, Savannah.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home with the Rev. Sonny Mason officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Texas.

Mrs. Warner, a native of Texas, was a homemaker and a Catholic.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy W. Oglesby, Sylvania; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the services.

Mr. Billy Welch

Retired drywaller

DEARING -- Mr. Billy Paul Welch, 43, of 5779 Luckey's Bridge Road, died Saturday, April 11, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Curtis Funeral Home, Thomson, with Bob Howard, James Simmons, Carl Gunn and the Rev. Daniel Duke officiating. Burial will be in Walker cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Welch, a native of McDuffie County, had retired as a drywaller.

Survivors include his wife, Carol N. Welch; three sons, Phillip Welch, Jeffery Welch and Dustin Welch, all of Dearing; two daughters, Tiffany Welch and Ariel Welch, both of Dearing; his mother, Willie Mae Miles, Harlem; three brothers, Ronnie Welch, Dearing, Ray Miles, Harlem, and Richard Miles, Thomson; and four sisters, Sandra Noggle and Angela Cranford, both of Dearing, Norma Faye Piachek, Thomson, and Kim Kitchens, Harlem.

Friends may call at the residence or at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. James Wise

Retired truck driver

LANGLEY -- Mr. James Wise, 73, of 2616 Augusta Road, died Saturday, April 11, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Hatcher Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Youngblood officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Mr. Wise, a native of Chester, had retired from Mid-South Container Co. as a truck driver after 18 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Gloverville First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the men's Bible class.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Wilson Wise; a son, L.D. Wise, North Augusta; three daughters, Phyllis Wise Moyer, Gloverville, Linda Nolan, Augusta, and Joyce Barfield, Maggie Valley, N.C.; and 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harold Clark, Jack Durden, Roger Green, David Funderburg, Elmore Attaway and Grady Scott.

Memorials may be made to Gloverville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 157, Gloverville, SC 29828.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
