Mr. Thomas Luckett

GRANITEVILLE -- Mr. Thomas Aaron ``Tommy" Luckett, 88, of 135 Trolley Line Road, died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Graniteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Milford Oswald officiating. Burial will be in Graniteville cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Luckett, a native of Cornersville, Miss., was retired from E.I. DuPont as a supervisor. He was a member of Graniteville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Murray Luckett; one stepdaughter, Elaine Renew, Graniteville; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be E.C. Thomas, Bruce Herrine, Lester Ramsey, Jerry Couch, Paul Posey and C. Fred Adam Jr.

Memorials may be made to Graniteville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 119, Graniteville, SC 29829.

Friends may call at the residence of Elaine Renew, 133 Trolley Line Road.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hatcher Funeral Home.

Mr. Tommie Lybrand

Retired service station owner

AIKEN -- Mr. Tommie Elihu Lybrand, 81, of 914 Cherokee Ave. N.W., died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at George Funeral Home, Park Avenue, with the Rev. Charles Still officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Johnston.

Mr. Lybrand, a native of Ridge Spring, was a retired service station owner and a Lutheran. He had been in a Civilian Conservation Corps camp.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Tinney, Mary Esther, Fla., Norma Redd, Aiken, and Lana Ellison, Princeton, W.Va.; one brother, Tommie T. ``Bucky" Lybrand Jr., Aiken; three sisters, Gladys McGee and Margaret Hall, both of Aiken, and Glennie Yonce, Trenton; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Tinney, David Redd, Cory McMurtrie, H.K. Yonce, Gary Hall and Thomas Hall.

Memorials may be made to Kedron Baptist Church, c/o Growth Fund, P.O. Box 1719, Aiken, SC 29802.

Friends may call at 533 Rushton Road or the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cornelia Malone

SMYRNA, Ga. -- Mrs. Cornelia Carlton Malone, 83, of 5049 Laurel Spring Way, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Wellstar Douglas Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Greenlawn cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Union Point, with the Revs. Louie D. Carlton and Alvin Taylor officiating.

Mrs. Malone, a native of Greene County, was a homemaker and a member of Druid Hills Methodist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Jessie Carlton Brook, Atlanta.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Callaway Funeral Home, Union Point.

Mrs. Anne Minter

MACON -- Mrs. Anne Frost Minter, 94, of 1205 Adams St., died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Gum Log cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Kite, with the Rev. Andy Oxford officiating.

Mrs. Minter, a native of Johnson County, was a homemaker and a member of Tattnall Square Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Lucille Frost Davidson, Macon.

Friends may call at the residence of Angelyn Taunton, 972 Magnolia St., Macon, GA 31201.

Johnson Funeral Home, Swainsboro, is in charge of local arrangements.

Snow's Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Susan Williams

BARNWELL, S.C. -- Ms. Susan LaWanda Williams, 32, died Sunday, April 26, 1998.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Barnwell First Baptist Church with the Revs. Steve Burnette, Billy Vaughan and Rupert Leary officiating. Burial will be private.

Ms. Williams, a native of Orangeburg, was a member of Barnwell First Baptist Church and a graduate of Barnwell High School and Carson Newman College. She had been an employee of Ness-Motley Law Firm of Barnwell.

Survivors include adoptive parents, David and Voncile Oglesby Whitehead, Barnwell; three brothers, Terry Whitehead, Jerry Whitehead and David Whitehead, all of Barnwell; and one sister, Marsha W. Blalock, North Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Lee Clamp, Rupert Leary, John Leary, Will Bedingfield, Berley C. Lindler and Bobby Walden.

Memorials may be made to Susan Williams Memorial Fund, c/o Palmetto Federal Savings and Loan, Barnwell.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Mole Funeral Home.

Mr. Shade Woodward

Retired textile worker

GRANITEVILLE -- Mr. Shade W. Woodward, 82, of 29 Gregg St., died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Montmorenci Baptist Church with the Revs. Milford Oswald and Gene Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Woodward, a native of Aiken County, was a retired textile worker and a member of Montmorenci Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include his wife, Mona Pemberton Woodward; one son, Daniel W. Woodward, Graniteville; four daughters, Joanne Woodward Walton, Vaucluse, April Woodward, Graniteville, Sheri Ann Murphy, Hobe Sound, Fla., and Teri Ann Scott, Texas; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Hubert Walton, James Walton, Sanford Bryant, Roger Godwin, Julian Bell and Branson Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at George Funeral Home, Park Avenue.

Mrs. Sylvia Yancey

WRENS, Ga. -- Mrs. Sylvia Farmer Yancey, 39, of 406 Williams St., died Friday, April 24, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Stone Springfield African Methodist Episcopal Church, Stapleton, with the Rev. Leroy Britt Sr. officiating.

Mrs. Yancey, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Stone Springfield African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the gospel choir. She was a member of Women in Action and a 1976 graduate of Wrens High School.

The family said she was a kind, compassionate person whose friendliness gained her many friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen D. Yancey; her mother, Sara Stapleton Farmer, Wrens; two brothers, Harold Farmer, Wrens, and Clifford Farmer Jr., Augusta; two sisters, Sandra Benjamin and Loretta Jordan, both of Wrens; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Claude Farmer, Leonard Farmer, Anthony Stewart, Bernard Johnson, James Stewart and Leo Davis.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from noon to 9 p.m. today at Freeman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rosie Barnes

WASHINGTON, Ga. -- Mrs. Rosie Barnes, 97, of 6064 Greensboro Road, died Saturday, April 25, 1998.

The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at The Greater Level Hill Baptist Church, Crawfordville, with the Rev. R.J. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnes, a native of Taliaferro County, was a homemaker and a member of The Greater Level Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, James W. Barnes, Washington; and five great-grandchildren.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pearl Barton

Retired lunchroom manager

AIKEN -- Mrs. Pearl Key Barton, 86, of 1129 South Boundary St., died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Talatha Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Watford and Raymond Crow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mrs. Barton, a native of Aiken County, was retired from Aiken Junior High School as lunchroom manager. She was a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church, where she was a member and had been secretary of Willing Workers Sunday school Class, member of the choir and director of the Women's Methodist Union. She was a member of the Pairs and Spares Group, the 50-uppers and the Golden Hands Club. She was the subject of the poem Thank You God for Mothers.

The family said she was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Barton, Charles Barton and Ronnie Barton, all of Aiken; three daughters, Iris Padgett, Betty Willing and JoAnn Roe Keatts, all of Aiken; and 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Padgett, Alan Willing, Tim Barton, Ashley Barton, Gene Roe, Kenny Roe, Wally Roe, Chuck Barton Jr. and Josh Barton.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and Gibbs Sunday School Class of Redds Branch Baptist Church.
