SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Elmo Wyatt Youngblood, 82, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Swainsboro Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hawhammock Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Cail Pressey and Louis Pearce officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Youngblood, a native of Emanuel County, was retired from Swainsboro Print Works and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Hawhammock Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Brown Youngblood; three sons, Wyatt Youngblood, Adrian, George Youngblood, Augusta, and Dean Youngblood, Cheraw, S.C.; one daughter, Myra S. Underwood, Cheraw; one brother, Wilbur Youngblood, Boynton, Fla.; seven sisters, Audrey Murphy, Gainesville, Fla., Margaret Orlando and Dorothy Bell, both of West Palm Beach, Fla., Mildred Moore, Nunez, Sarh Nell Whitney, Atlanta, Mary Loveless, Albany, and Martha Claxton, Swainsboro; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Drone Hudson Jr., Marcus Boss, Ken McGee, Jamie Moxley, Clint Boss, Larry McDaniel, Trinton Hooks, Sammy Willis and Johnny Holt.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hawhammock Missionary Baptist Church adult men's Sunday school class.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary.

Mr. Thomas Kirby

Greenwood Mills retiree

GREENWOOD, S.C. -- Mr. Thomas Alton Kirby, 86, of 2009 S. Main St., died Friday, April 17, 1998, at Self-Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Lawrence Johnson, Hayes Riddle and James Young officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Kirby, a native of Greenville County, was retired from Greenwood Mills and was a member of South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, James F. ``Jimmy" Kirby and Thomas E. ``Tommy" Kirby; one brother, Harmon H. Kirby; one sister, Sarah K. Slack; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dewitt Pressley, Guy Reed, Harold Boyd, Branch Hall, Jimmy Still and Myron Toney.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Blyth Funeral Home.

Mr. Geiger Addie

Retired grocer

BURNETTOWN -- Mr. Geiger W. Addie, 85, of 212 Daley Drive, died Friday, April 17, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Hillview Baptist Church, Graniteville, with the Rev. Louis Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.

Mr. Addie, a native of Saluda County, had lived in the Burnettown most of his life. He had retired as a grocer after 55 years in business. He was a member of Hillview Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Ergle Bible Class.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie King Addie; a daughter, Doris Addie Phillips, Aiken; two stepdaughters, Jean Wright, Belvedere, and Olivia Turner, Aiken; three brothers, Dallas Addie, Hubert Addie and J. Billy Addie, all of Gloverville; three sisters, Myrtle Watkins, Gloverville, Peggy Sanders, Burnettown, and Mary E. Cosnahan, North Augusta; and nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Dennis, Jimmy Hardy, Harold McKinney, Marvin Jones and Wallace Galloway.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ergle Bible Class.

Memorials may be made to Hillview Baptist Church, 1974 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC 29829.

Friends may call at the residence of his sister, Mary Ann Cosnahan, 115 Hillside Court, Burnettown; or at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley.

Austin Arnold

Austin Allen Arnold, infant son of Allen Arnold Jr. and Kelli Dittmer Arnold of 3046 Angela St., died Saturday, April 18, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at noon Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating.

Additional survivors include a sister, Nancy Brooke Arnold, Augusta; his paternal grandfather, Dwayne A. Arnold Sr., Martinez; his paternal grandmother, Nancy Pond Arnold, Augusta; his maternal grandfather, Roger Dittmer, Lincolnton; his maternal grandmother, Jean Wallace, Augusta; his paternal great-grandparents, W.C. Arnold Jr., Martinez, Winifred Garrett, Clarksville, Ga., and Virginia Pond Hamilton, Augusta; his maternal great-grandparents, Herb Dittmer and Bettye Dittmer, Lincolnton, Aileen Walker, Savannah, and James W. Goodman, Lincolnton, Ga.; and his maternal great-great-grandmother, Mary Reynolds, Savannah.

Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, CSRA Chapter.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Poteet Funeral Home, Wheeler Road.

Mrs. Ilse Blanck

Mrs. Ilse Brandenstein Blanck, 94, died Thursday, April 16, 1998, in Augusta.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Westover Memorial Park with Rabbi Jordan M. Parr officiating.

Mrs. Blanck, a native of Dortmund, Germany, was a former resident of Tampa, Fla. While in Tampa, she was a board member of the Senior Citizen's Council and a member of the sisterhood of Congregation Schaarai Zedek Temple. She was a member of Congregation Children of Israel, Walton Way Temple.

Survivors include one daughter, Marian Shapiro, Augusta; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Congregation Children of Israel, Walton Way Temple, 3005 Walton Way Extension, Augusta, GA 30909.

Friends may call at the residence of Harold and Marian Shapiro, 812 Windsor Court.

Mrs. Berlon Masters Braswell, 77, of 1917 Diane Drive, died Saturday, April 18, 1998.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, with the Rev. Guy Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Braswell, a native of Banks County, Ga., was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Clinton G. Braswell; a son, James Baugh, Victorville, Calif.; two daughters, Sheryl Wright, Suwanee, Ga., and Edna Braswell, Hephzibah; three sisters, Annie Sharp and Martha Maxwell, both of Augusta, and Gladys Turner, Edgefield, S.C.; and 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Braswell, Skipper Braswell, Steve Baugh, Christopher Baugh, David Clinton Braswell, Joshua Lee Phillips, Mike Baugh, Wayne Wallace, John Gary Wright II, Eddie Braswell III, Daniel Braswell, Christopher Phillips, Wayne Wallace Jr. and Justin Hattaway.

Mr. Richard Dunkley

Mr. Richard E. Dunkley, 61, of 2101 Walton Way, Bon Air Apartments No. 508, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Dent's Undertaking Establishment with the Rev. Munn officiating. Burial will be in Beaufort National cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Beaufort, S.C.

Mr. Dunkley, a native of Halifax County, Va., was a driver for Girls Scouts Inc. He was an Army veteran.

His family said he was referred to as ``Big Boy" and was a friend to all.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Dunkley, North Augusta; a daughter, Manell Mitchell, Augusta; his mother, Louise Dunkley, Halifax County; a sister, Mary E. Clark, Washington; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of a military honor guard.

Friends may call at the residence of Rosa Dunkley, 310 W. Hugh St. No. 109, North Augusta, or at the residence of Manell Mitchell, 3533 Garden Brook Drive.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. John Horr

Mr. John Horr, 73, of 1 Freedom Way, died Saturday, April 18, 1998, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Funeral services will be private.

Mr. Horr, a native of Dana, Mass., had lived in Augusta for two years. He had retired. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and a member of Loyal American Legion Post 148, Amherst, Mass.

Survivors include four daughters, Eileen Orr, New Ellenton, Joanne Orr, North Guilford, Conn., Jacqui Anderson, Carrollton, Ga., and Karen Reinlib, Laural, Md.; two brothers, Morgan Orr, West Springfield, Mass., and Michael Orr, Belchertown, Mass.; seven sisters, Fannie Ely, Hadly, Mass., Sadie Cooper, Punta Gorda, Fla., Hazel Boynton, Palmer, Mass., June Camp, Belchertown, Mae Sandoval, Amherst, Blanch Owens, Walhalla, S.C., and Bessie Brock, Jacksonville, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

George Funeral Home, Park Avenue, Aiken, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. William Kneece

GRANITEVILLE -- Mr. William Curtis Kneece, 73, of 118 Senn St., died Friday, April 17, 1998, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Napier Funeral Home with the Revs. Helen Black and Ronnie Reese officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Mr. Kneece, a native of Vaucluse, had owned Midway Pest Control for 48 years and was a member of the CSRA Pest Control Association and the National Pest Control Association. He was a Navy and Marine Corps veteran and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a past commander of American Legion Post 77 and Aiken County Voiture 1177 40-8. He was a member of Clearwater Lighthouse Church, Clearwater.

Survivors include two sons, Tony C. Kneece and Jerry Lane, both of Aiken; two daughters, Diane R. Hillman, Seneca, and Diane Bonham, Graniteville; three brothers, Leon Kneece and Leroy Kneece, both of Langley, and Ray Kneece, Aiken; two sisters, Magdalene Robinson, North Augusta, and Betty K. Cook, Warrenville; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles Heath, Craig Heath, Scott Heath, Gene Redd, Len Pilot, Monty Murrell, Red Mundy, Mike Farmer and Bucky Napier.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Sam Swint American Legion Post 77 and members of Aiken County Voiture 1177 40-8.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Erma Maddox

HEPHZIBAH -- Mrs. Erma S. Maddox, 66, of 4095 Duncan Drive, died Friday, April 17, 1998, in Burke County.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, with the Rev. Rick Busby officiating.

Mrs. Maddox, a native of Statesboro, was a longtime resident of New Ellenton. She had retired as co-owner of Maddox Supermarket, New Ellenton. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbur Maddox; three sons, Wilbur Maddox Jr. and James Maddox, both of Johnston, S.C., and William E. Maddox, New Ellenton; a daughter, Debbie M. Price, New Ellenton; her mother, Dora Smith, Augusta; three brothers, Edward Smith, Donald Smith and Wilford Smith, all of Augusta; a sister, Betty Walters, New Ellenton; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.
