Ms. Ruby Lee Fleming, 66, of 3435 Linderwood Drive, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at University Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Washington-Wilkes Memorial Garden, Washington, with the Rev. Grady Mosley II officiating.

Ms. Fleming, a native of Riverdale, Ga., was a retired nurse and a Methodist.

Survivors include one son, Michael F. Fleming, Kershaw, S.C.; one daughter, Pamela F. Hopkin, Washington; her mother, Ethel D. Johnson, Clyde, N.C.; one brother, Charles Johnson, Warren, Ohio; one sister, Eddie Olliff, Statesboro, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Hugh D. Hopkins, Charles B. Hopkins, Jack K. Thorpe, Norman Olliff, Bill Fleming and Pat Kelly.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Washington, GA 30673; or to Mount Zion Baptist Church, Heath Springs, SC 29058.

Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. William Gockel Jr.

Retired painter

JEWELL, Ga. -- Mr. William Henry ``Bill" Gockel Jr., 73, of 5825 Macon Highway, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Jewell Baptist Church with the Revs. J. Cullen Porter and Thomas Roberson officiating. Burial in Jewell cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Gockel, a native of St. Louis, was a retired painter and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Jewell Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and treasurer and was a member of the adult men's Sunday school class. He was a member of Carpenters for Christ and the Augusta Stamp Club.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Mitchell Gockel; two daughters, Rebecca G. Kettenacker, St. Charles, Mo., and Joy G. Gilmore, Sugar Land, Texas; one sister, Shirley Finger, St. Louis; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Horace Avant, Billy Garner, Kenneth Bush, Joe Holder, Jimmy Lewis and Johnny Tanner.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Jewell Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Carpenters for Christ, c/o First Baptist Church, 316 Mathis Circle, Sandersville, GA 31802; or St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

Friends may call at the residence.

Mrs. Ida T. Jones, 81, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Salem Nursing and Rehab Center, Augusta.

The funeral will be in Williamsburg, Ky.

Mrs. Jones, a native of Elk Valley, Tenn., was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Earl L. Jones, Jellico, Tenn.; two sons, Herbert Jones, Windsor, and Jack Jones, Martinez; five daughters, Polly Dyer, Molly Duncan and Mickey Olson, all of Aiken, Jean Bagwell, Watkinsville, Ga., and Kay Walker, Barnwell, S.C.; two sisters, Mary Trammel, Elk Valley, and Porme Thurmond; and 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

George Funeral Homes, Aiken, is in charge of local arrangements.

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. -- Mr. Albert Eugene Loner Jr., 78, died Friday, May 1, 1998, in Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Columbia.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Level Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery with the Rev. Ben Newman officiating.

Mr. Loner, a native of Augusta, was a retired superintendent with General Construction Co. and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church, the Blythewood Masonic Lodge No. 395 and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife, Portis Raines Loner; two sons, Larry Eugene Loner, Lexington, and Wayne Albert Loner, Oxford, Miss.; two daughters, Evelyn Annette Petty, Sugar Land, Texas, and Judy Jeanette Copocci, Salt Lake City; two brothers, J.W. ``Bill" Loner and R.W. ``Bobby" Loner, both of Blythewood; two sisters, Gaynell Raines and Lula Mae Turbeville, both of Blythewood; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Talbert-Shives Funeral Home.

Mr. Randolph McClain Jr.

LANGLEY -- Mr. Randolph McClain Jr., 63, died Wednesday, April, 29, 1998, at Anne Maria Nursing Home, North Augusta.

Mr. McClain, a native of Aiken, served in the Army and worked in the automotive paint and body industry.

Survivors include six sons, Ralph Eugene McClain, Gary Michael McClain, Chad ``Tony" McClain and Duane Travis McClain, all of Ohio, Randolph L. McClain, Camden, and James McClain; two daughters, Michelle M. Pardue and Barbara M. Hadden, both of Ohio; two brothers, Russell McClain, Springfield, Ga., and Charles McClain, Graniteville; two sisters, Ruby Ready, Warrenville, and Sadie Brundage, Brunswick, Ga.; and 15 grandchildren.

HEPHZIBAH -- Mr. Lamar ``Mac" McComb, 70, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, with Patrick O. Easley officiating.

Mr. McComb, a native of Anniston, Ala., had retired from the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a Protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce McComb; three stepsons, David Mize, Seattle, Ken Courson, Evans, and Mitch Courson, Martinez; one stepdaughter, Cindy Poss, Augusta; one brother, Dewey McComb, Augusta; one sister, Louise Jones, Heflin, Ala.; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of the military honor guard.

Mr. Price, a native of Bloomington, Ill., had worked with Wackenhut at Savannah River Plant and Vinell Corp., Saudi Arabia. He served in the Marine Corps and was an assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 649, Hephzibah, where he was an adviser of the Venture Crew.

Survivors include his mother, Annabelle Harmon; two brothers, Randy Harmon and Chad Harmon, both of Alabama; three sisters, Hannah Coone and Cindy McCoy, both of Illinois, and Vivian Owens, Alabama.
