AIKEN -- Mr. Thomas ``Wayne" Rhoden, 58, of 3519 Westmont Drive, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Napier Funeral Home, Graniteville, with the Rev. Kenneth Rhoden officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.

Mr. Rhoden, a native of Aiken, had retired from Metal Skills Co. as a machinist. He was an Army veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Graniteville.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Wheeler Rhoden; a son, Gregg W. Rhoden, Aiken; two daughters, Karen Carpenter and Tracy White, both of Aiken; two brothers, Kenneth Rhoden, Greenville, and Jack B. Rhoden, Johnston; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Medlin, Sam Wheeler Jr., Bruce Hewston, Mike Wheeler, Donald Wheeler, Brian Rhoden, Ricky Rhoden and Mike Rhoden.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Esther Still

BARNWELL, S.C. -- Ms. Esther S. Still, 97, died Friday, May 1, 1998, in Williston.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. John Nixon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Ms. Still, a native of Barnwell County, was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Still, Fayetteville, N.C., Roger Still, Cambridge, Mass., and Raymond Still, Ocala, Fla.; three daughters, Love Bodiford, Barnwell, Nancy Long, Aiken, and Jewel Tompkins, Gaston; a brother, Joe Still, Denmark; two sisters, Lucille Lee and Bonnie Reece, both of Denmark; and 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Mole Funeral Home.

Miss Elene Swint

GIBSON, Ga. -- Miss Elene Swint, 84, of 434 Beall Springs Road, died Saturday, May 2, 1998, at Gibson Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Miss Swint, a native of Warren County, was a homemaker and a member of Shoals Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Corene Swint Chalker, Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Louis Swint, Joseph Swint, Warren Hart, Sidney Swint, Talmadge Chalker and Wayne Landrum.

Mr. Thomas Timmerman

Mr. Thomas Hartford Timmerman, 82, of 501 Milledge Road, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue, with Mr. T.S. Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Baptist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Edgefield County, S.C.

Mr. Timmerman, a native of Edgefield County, was a dental technician and a member of Bethany Chapel Church.

Survivors include a brother, Thomas L. Timmerman, Augusta; and a sister, Mary C. Timmerman, Santa Rosa, Calif.

Pallbearers will be Mark Stephens, Benjamin C. Timmerman, Doug Tice, Ben Timmerman, Rufus Belding and Gerald Tice.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wade, a native of Oglethorpe County, was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Wade, all of Athens; a daughter, Samantha Wade Wilson, Athens; five brothers, Joel Casper and Wayne Casper, both of Athens, Hoyt Casper, Tucson, Ariz., Jack Casper, Union Point, and Eugene Casper, Greensboro; a sister, Virginia Smith, Gainesville; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dorothea Wright

COLUMBIA -- Mrs. Dorothea Bennie Boyd Wright, 76, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at Brian Center, St. Andrews.

Mrs. Wright was a native of Aiken.

Mr. Wade Ashmore

LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mr. Wade Hampton Ashmore, 89, of 1118 Lakeside Drive, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Morningside Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Rayner, Ellis Moore and Albert Stroup officiating. Burial will be in Double Branches Baptist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Ashmore, a native of Lincoln County, was an engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a Navy veteran, and a member and past master of Lincolnton Masonic Lodge No. 354, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Homer Legg Eastern Star Chapter 535. He was a charter member and deacon emeritus of Morningside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Edith M. Ashmore; two sons, Len Hampton Ashmore, Des Allemands, La., and Henry Lee Ashmore, Smyrna; two stepdaughters, Carole Gazette, Martinez, and Ellen Kirby, Lincolnton; three sisters, Alice Sanders, Hyannis, Fla., Mamie Moss, Augusta, and Hazel O'Connel, Del Ray Beach, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jack Saggus, Robert F. Wilkes, Billy Norman, Mike Frazier, Richard Butler and Marion Butler.

Survivors include two sons, George Bramlett, Perry, and James Autry Bramlett, Union Point; a daughter, Shirley Bramlett Cable, Winterville; a brother, Buford Byrd, Marietta; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Chandler, a native of St. Louis, was a registered hospice nurse. She was a member of Warren Baptist Church, where she was a member of Bible Study Fellowship.

Her family said she was a loving, caring wife, mother and nurse. She has gone to the mansion He has prepared for her on streets of gold.

Survivors include her husband, Jim L. Chandler; a son, William H. Chandler, Grovetown; and a daughter, Carole Nipper, Greenville, S.C.

Pallbearers will be members of the Cosper Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to the Moody Bible Radio Station WLPE 91.7; or to His Radio WAFJ 88.3; or to St. Joseph Hospice Program, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

Mr. Kavirayil Chandy
