VALDOSTA, Ga. -- Mr. Elliott J. Margone, 71, died Monday, June 8, 1998, at the Heritage House.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery with the Rev. Robert C. McKee Jr. officiating.

Mr. Margone, a native of New York, was a retired vending technician with Savannah Amusement Services and an Army veteran. He was a member of Assembly of God Church, Savannah.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy McNeely Margone; two sons, Murry Margone, San Jose, Calif., and Hubert H. Mims Jr., St. Peters, Mo.; one sister, Pearl Palmer, Beaufort, S.C.; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary, Swainsboro.

Mrs. Martha Hooper

GROVETOWN -- Mrs. Martha Mildred Hooper, 78, of 563 Annie Laurie Drive, died Monday, June 8, 1998, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jerry Rockefeller officiating.

Mrs. Hooper, a native of Dutton, Ark., was a furniture upholsterer with Hooper Furniture.

Survivors include her husband, James I. Hooper; one son, Robert Hooper, Grovetown; two daughters, Jimmie Hooper, Grovetown, and Jane Baker, Dearing; and 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Starling Funeral Home, Harlem.

Mr. Christopher Carter

Mr. Christopher David Carter, 24, of 507 Walker St., died Monday, June 8, 1998, in Augusta.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Vineyard Christian Fellowship with the Rev. Thor Colberg officiating.

Mr. Carter, a native of Fort Knox, Ky., was a 1991 graduate of Augusta Christian School and a member of Vineyard Christian Fellowship.

Survivors include his parents, Hanson and Linda Carter, Augusta; one brother, Michael Carter, Augusta; one sister, Angella Carter, Augusta; his paternal grandparents, Hanson Carter Sr., Nashville, and Jan Rivers, Orlando, Fla.; and his maternal grandmother, Ruth Rodrigez.

Memorials may be made to Augusta Christian School Sports College Scholarship Memorial Fund, 313 Baston Road, Martinez, GA 30907.

Mrs. Williams, a native of Fulton County, was a homemaker and a member of Rehobath Baptist Church, Tucker.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin ``Buddy" Henry Lee Williams Jr.; two daughters, Lisa Michelle Corley Porterfield, Washington, and Julie Elaine Williams, Woodville; one brother, Donnie Hall, Broxton; and two sisters, Connie Moore, Powder Springs, and Kim McCook, Fitzgerald.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Carruth, Ray Davis, Mike Cavender, Billy Hill, Dough Bashore and Leon Gravitt.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Leo Zeigler's Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Memorial cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Williams, a native of Screven County, was a cab driver and a member of Springhead United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Walter Williams Sr., Sylvania, Corrie Williams, Bridgeton, N.J., and James Williams, Bainbridge; and two sisters, Myrtis R. Lemon and Juanita W. Moore, both of Statesboro.

Mr. John Tanksley

Mr. John Tanksley, 50, of 1005 Wrightsboro Road, died Wednesday, June 3, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Peoples Funeral Home with the Rev. William Bussey officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park.

Mr. Tanksley was a native of Columbia County.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Heggs; one son, John Willie Tanksley Jr.; one daughter, Betty Ann Overton; four brothers, Tim Tanksley Jr., Franklin Eugene Tanksley, Edward Tanksley and Joe McCladdie; one sister, Fannie Overton; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Talbert, a native of Modoc, was a retired sales clerk with Park's Pharmacy and a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she was a member of Bethany Sunday School Class and Joyful Sounds Choir.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicky T. Bedell, North Augusta, and Pamela T. Brantham, Augusta; three sisters, Alva Edmunds and Myrtle Lott, both of Belvedere, and Sallie Mae Bussey, Martinez; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Donald Roswell McRae IV, John Thomas McRae, Branon Mitchell, Peter M. Jones, Cleve Edmunds and Gary Bailey.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Bethany Sunday School Class and Joyful Sounds Choir.

Ms. Paschal, a native of Sharon, Ga., was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Methodist Church.

Mr. Moss, a native of Richmond County, was a mechanic with Wilderman Transmission and was a member of Johnson Grove Baptist Church.

The family said he was a caring, loving person with a zest for life and an unselfish love for his family, cousins and friends.

Survivors include five sons, Willie LaJuan Moss, Anthony A. Moss, Tavorace Hall, Darrel Edwards Jr. and ShaDarrell Edwards; his parents, Willie Warren Moss Sr. and Ruby Germany Moss; three brothers, Troy D. Moss, Keitheric E. Moss and Willie James Coleman; two sisters, Taron Moss Howard and Tiffany Moss; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Jones, Larry Germany, Phillip Campbell, Barry Campbell, James Thomas and Bernard Andrews.

Survivors include his wife, E. Jennette Milford; one son, Arlington C. Milford Jr., Evans; two daughters, Dorothy Burton Davis, Martinez, and Janet Benton Childree, Atlanta; one brother, Homer Milford Sr., Martinez; two sisters, Gladys Coykendall, Carson, Calif., and Etheridge Partridge, Lincolnton, Ga.; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joe Sleister, Dennis Sleister, Irvin Partridge, Homer Milford Jr., Roger Partridge and John H. Partridge.
