Mr. William T. ``Bill" Bacon Jr., 71, of Martinez, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Marion Jay officiating.

Mr. Bacon, a native of Covington, was a maintenance supervisor with E.I. DuPont, Inc. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3200. He was Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Nell Bacon; one son, William T. Bacon III; one daughter, Navia Wilhelm; one step-son, S.R. Wooten; one sister, Ethel Porterfield; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 246 Davis Road, Augusta, GA 30907.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road.

Mr. Joe Morgan

Assistant principal

OXEN HILL, Md. -- Mr. Joe Chester Morgan, of 5513 Helmont Drive, died Friday, June 26, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Louis-Charles Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Morgan, a native of Aiken, was an assistant principal. He was a graduate of Martha Schofield High School, Claflin College, Orangeburg, S.C., and Howard University, Washington. He was a member of Mount Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Montmorenci, and attended Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Constantine Morgan; and one sister, Ivy Miller, Aiken.

Friends may call at the residence of Ivy Miller, 419 Abbeville Ave., N.E., Aiken, or at the residence of Linda Lakes, 222 Barnwell Ave., N.E., Aiken.

Hunts Funeral Home, 908 Kennedy St., N.W., Washington, D.C. is in charge of arrangements. Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home, Aiken, is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Inez Radford

Retired civil servant

Mrs. Inez Holcomb Radford, 60, of Martinez, died Sunday, June 28, 1998, in Richmond, Va.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Augusta, with the Rev. Marion L. Jay officiating.

Mrs. Radford, a native of Murfreesboro, Ark., was a retired civil servant from Fort Gordon and a Baptist.

Survivors include one son, Rick Worix, El Cajon, Calif., one step-son, Joseph T. Radford III; one step-daughter, JoAnne Radford, Fayetteville; and one sister, Bonnie Alligood, Colonel Heights, Va.

Mr. Caesar Rourk Sr.

Retired minister

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mr. Caesar W. ``Cecil" Rourk Sr., 84, of 417 West Woodlawn Ave., died Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at North Augusta Southern Methodist Church with the Rev. H.B. Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Rourk, a native of Atlanta, was a retired Southern Methodist Minister and had retired as a machinist from Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner, former Toastmaster, and a member of North Augusta Southern Methodist Church. He served on the North Augusta Town Council and formerly operated North Augusta Mercantile Co.

Survivors include two sons, C. Wilson Rourk Jr., Waverly, Tenn., and Henry B. Rourk, Fairburn, Ga.; one daughter, Rebecca Scupin, North Augusta; one sister, Margaret Moore, Mobile, Ala.; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Memorials may be made to North Augusta Southern Methodist Church, 615 W. Martintown Road, North Augusta, SC 29841.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rowland Funeral Home.

Mr. William Sanders

Retired railroad porter

Mr. William H. Sanders, 90, of 1302 Perry Ave., died Monday, June 29, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. E.T. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Southview cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Sanders, a native of Campania, Ga., was a retired sleep car porter for New York Central Railroad. He was a 1927 graduate of Walker Baptist Institute and a member of Springfield Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Alta Ruth Pinckney, Dorothy S. Cummings, and Ruby S. Green, all of Augusta.

Friends may call at the residence or at the funeral home.

Mrs. Martha Sweeny

Former dental assistant

Mrs. Martha Turnage Sweeny, 45, of Augusta, died Monday, June 29, 1998.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road, with the Rev. Charles Koons officiating.

Mrs. Sweeny, a native of Augusta, was a former dental assistant. She was a 1970 graduate of Butler High School and a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.

Survivors include one son, Nicholas Kyle Sweeny, Augusta; her mother, Isabelle K. Turnage, Augusta; one brother, Stoney Turnage, Waynesboro, Ga.; two sisters, Katherine McCoy, Marietta, Ga., and Vickie Jones, Woodstock, Ga.

Mrs. Urbanek was a member of the Medical College of Georgia Faculty and Spouses Club and the Women's Auxiliary, University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago.

Mrs. Jessie Veasey

THOMSON -- Mrs. Jessie Mae Veasey of 806 Howard Road, S.E., died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, in Anaheim, Calif.

Mrs. Veasey was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ethel Williams

Mrs. Williams, a native of Burke County, was a retired educator and a retired administrative assistant for the state of New York. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include five brothers, James M. Williams, George W. Williams, Francis Williams and Benjamin Williams, all of Waynesboro, and Willie E. Williams, Wyandanch, N.Y.

Pallbearers will be officers of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Idalene Baugus

Mrs. Baugus, a native of Hancock County, had retired as licensed practical nurse, and a seamstress. She was a homemaker and a member of Tennille Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Baugus; two sons, Raymond Clark Brookins, Andersonville, and Carl Brookins, Brunswick; two daughters, Bennette Allie, Kankakee, Ill., and Mary Rice, Brunswick; one brother, Wyman Godfrey, Macon; one sister, Nanette Crosby, Macon; and 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Flora Ferrell

Retired bookkeeper

SALUDA, S.C. -- Mrs. Flora Brasington Ferrell, 66, of Route 2, Ebb Mack Road, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at her residence.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred Treaster officiating.

Mrs. Ferrell, a native of Waycross, Ga., was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia McGee, Saluda; and three grandchildren.
