Robert Doyle Bledsoe
12/19/1926 - 10/1/2010

Dr. Doyle Bledsoe, 83, of Newnan, GA passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Heard County to the late Garvie C. Bledsoe and Pearlie Yarborough Bledsoe. After serving in the U.S. Army, Dr. Bledsoe worked for General Motors for 17 years. He retired from General Motors to go into full time ministry. Dr. Bledsoe was called to preach in 1957. After attending seminary at Immanuel Baptist College and Seminary, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Antioch Baptist College and Seminary. He then received his Masters of Religious Education, as well as his Doctorate of Divinity from Georgia Baptist College and Seminary. Also, from the University of Marietta, he received both his Doctorate of Laws and Doctorate of Theology. For over 40 years, Dr. Bledsoe pastored a dozen churches in the metro area, before being called to Westside Baptist Church as an Assistant Pastor. Not only is he most known for his ministry of the gospel, he also ministered through his love of music, especially his finesse on the piano. He led numerous choirs in camp meetings and revivals throughout the southeastern United States. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Helton Bledsoe; brother, Wayne Bledsoe, and sister, Thelma Luallen. Dr. Bledsoe is survived by his son, Steve Bledsoe of Newnan; daughter, Pam Bledsoe Brown and husband Charlie of Newnan; grandchildren, Stephanie Brown Hatton and husband Michael, Andy Brown and wife Haley, Kris Bledsoe, and Casey Bledsoe; great-grandchildren, Abby Hatton, Andrew Hatton, and Anderson Brown; and his beloved companion, Ms. Freda Massey. Visitation is at the funeral home on Sunday evening between 6 - 8 PM. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2010, at Westside Baptist Church in Newnan. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Healthfield Hospice, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Arthritis Foundation, and/or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mary Thomas
10/11/1939 - 10/2/2010

Mary Beverly Thomas, age 70 of Roanoke, Al formerly of Newnan passed away on Saturday, October 02, 2010 in Alabama. She was born on October 11, 1939 in Fayette Co. Ga to the late Louis Griggs and Estelle Parrott Griggs. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Thomas; daughter, Jennifer Hopper; brother, Doyle Griggs and two grandchildren. The memorial service for Mary Beverly Thomas, will be held Wednesday, October 06, 2010 at 11:00 am in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Payne will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 06, 2010 from 10:00 am till service hour at McKoon Funeral Home 38 Jackson St. 770-253-4580.

Marianne Carroll

Marianne Carroll, age 78 of Newnan passed away on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at her residence. She was born on May 03, 1932 in Coweta County, Ga to the late John Borders and Mary McMichael Borders. She was preceded in death by her husband F.L. Carroll. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her son, Mark and wife Louanne Carroll; daughter, Debbie Carroll and 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. . Funeral services for Marianne Carroll, will be held Thursday, October 07, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Strickland will officiate. Antonia Tornow

Antonia (Tony) F. Tornow, 89, of Newnan, GA., formerly of Beloit, WI, passed away on Oct 4, 2010, at Newnan Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on Mar 31, 1921 in Hutchinson, Minn., to the late Otto F. Nuwash and Libbie F. Zila. Tony was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Eugene Tornow and son, Robin G. Tornow. She is survived by her son, Joel Tornow and wife, Suzanne of Meridian, ID. And daughter-in-law, Barbara Kelly Tornow of Newnan, GA. Grandchildren: Kelli Tornow and husband, Brad Frazier; Brett Tornow and wife, Kristin; Chimi Tornow and husband, Michael Libermann; and Eugene Tornow; great grandchildren: Jordan and Jackson Frazier and David and Ryan Tornow. The graveside service for Antonia F. Tornow will be Oct 21, 2010, at 2:30 in Valhalla Memorial Park, Milwaukee, WI.

Larry George Pack, 54, of Newnan, GA died on Monday, October 4, 2010. He was born in Greeneville, TN on April 9, 1956 to Harold Pack & Christine Rollins Pack. He was a Site Manager of Information Technology for Philips North America. He was preceded in death by daughter, Mallory Pack. The funeral service is Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, Rev. Bill Reeves officiating. Louise Boatfield Sanders, 80, of Newnan died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. She was born August 19, 1930 in Cumming, GA to the late Earl Boatfield & Era Mae Glover Boatfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Jordan Sanders. Mrs. Sanders was a member of Sargent Baptist Church and was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. Charles H. Craft, Jr. age 78 of Newnan, passed away on Sunday, September 05, 2010 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. He was born on April 24, 1932 in Cleburne County, Al to the late Charles H. Craft, Sr. and Bertha Lee Maxwell Craft. He was a faithful member of New Lebanon Baptist Church. Mr. Craft retired from the Ford Motor Company and served in the U.S. Army and was mason with the Coweta County Sylvan Lodge. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Madeline Craft; son, Rodger Bowen; daughter, Teresa and husband Ken McDonald; daughter, Angie and husband Jim Morgan; son, Kim and wife Karen Craft; sister, Bertia Lee Scott; grandchildren Matt Bowen, Emily Bowen, Brad Bowen, Spence and Erika Morgan, Christin and Blaire Morgan and Corey and Kirby Craft; great-grandchild Macy Morgan.
