Also surviving are her honorary sons and daughters-in-law Dr. Bill Dobes and wife Martha of Atlanta, and Bob Dobes and wife Susan of Panama City Florida. She graduated from North Atlanta Presbyterian School, frequently appearing in the Atlanta newspapers modeling clothes for both the Rich’s and the J.P. Allen Department Stores. She attended Agnes Scott College where, at a friend’s debutant party, she met Dr. Nat Glover of Newnan whom she married shortly afterwards. She and Nat loved dancing and fishing and she especially enjoyed working in her yard, having personally and lovingly planted each of the hundreds of azalea plants that can be seen at the old family home on Alpine Drive. Bobbie was a member of Central Baptist Church where she taught the Cradle Roll Sunday School for over 20 years, then joined the Joy Class where she remained a member. Always involved in her children’s lives, she served as a Cub Scout den mother for all four of her boys and a Brownie leader for her daughter. Well known throughout Newnan for her civic involvement, she was active in the Driftwood Garden Club, having served one term as President, was a member of the Newnan Junior Service League as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Newnan Hospital. A consummate hostess, an avid bridge player, a master of knitting and needlepoint, but above all these she cherished her family. Even after moving to Wesley Woods in 2000 she continued to orchestrate the annual family gatherings at the old family home on Alpine Drive. Those who knew her will long remember her love of humor and her constant smile. This ever-positive outlook infected all around her. Just recently she joked that she probably was Newnan’s oldest Matron of Honor, having served as such at the age of 85 for a close friend’s wedding. A celebration of her life will be held at Central Baptist Church at 1:00 O’clock pm on Friday, the 5th of November. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Central Baptist Video Ministry. McKoon Funeral Home 770-253-4580
