Rosemary Krone

Rosemary Ursula Bishop Krone, 78, died on Friday November 5, 2010 at her home in Newnan, GA. She was born September 10, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Frank J. Bishop & Anna Rose Gambosh Bishop. After graduating high school, she attended Pennsylvania State University where she earned degrees in Sociology & Marketing. She and her husband married and opened “Krone’s Driftwood Lounge & Steakhouse”, which they operated for several years in Butler, PA. Mrs. Krone became active in social work through Catholic Social Services & Charities where she faithfully served children and families in her calling as a social worker until her retirement. Through her journeys in helping children, she not only became a mother, she also mentored and sponsored individual high school students, improving their opportunities and enriching their lives. She moved to Newnan in 2005 and was a member of St. George Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Herbert Curtis Krone. The funeral service is Wednesday at 11:00 AM, November 10, 2010 at St. George Catholic Church, Father Austin Fogarty officiating. The visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. The rosary service will begin at 7:00 PM in The Chapel of McKoon Funeral Home immediately after visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society, 301 Kelly Drive, Suite: 3, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Sharon Neja

Sharon Hosey Neja, 66, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at her home in Newnan. She was born August 28, 1944 in Birmingham, AL to the late John Hosey & Angnes Upshaw Hosey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Troy Barlow. Mrs. Neja was a longtime member of Banning Church of God and was retired from West Georgia Welding Supply Company and was co-founder of Shatone, a speciality fabrication and machine company in Whitesburg, GA. The funeral is Friday, November 5, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Dan Boswell, age 62 of Newnan, passed away on Thursday, November 04, 2010 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born on June 17, 1948 in Phenix City, Al to the late Daniel H. Boswell and Francis Moss Boswell. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Boswell; children, Misty Boswell and Matthew Boswell; sister, Marsha Brezeny; brothers, Dennis Boswell, Barry Boswell and Edwin Boswell. Ruth McGahee Raines, 85, of Haralson, GA passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at New London Health Center in Snellville, GA. She was born August 2, 1925 in Haralson to the late Zachary England McGahee & Mamie Crawford McGahee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Roy “Stormy” Raines; daughter, Robyn Raines; siblings, Lucille Burton, Grady McGahee. Mrs. Raines was a lifelong member of Haralson Baptist Church. She went to high school at Brantley Institute and also graduated from Tift College where she was a member of the golf team, worked in the bookstore and was the secretary to the President of the college. She was the medical secretary to Dr. Daniel Sinkoe in Atlanta and later was the Executive Secretary to the Southeast Division Manager of Texaco. The funeral is Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 11:00 am graveside at Haralson Baptist Church Cemetery, 224 Magnolia St, Haralson, GA with Pastor Donny Smith officiating. The visitation is Tuesday, November 9, 2010 between 4:00 – 7:00 at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan, GA. Doris May Hand, 81, of Moreland passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at her home. She was born in Lamar County, GA to the late William Milton Rowe and Dura Nell Bradbury. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Edward Rowe. She was a member of Mills Chapel Church. Jane Muir
10/19/1938 - 11/6/2010

Jane Malvia Nixon Muir attained that perfect healing for her earthly body on November 6, 2010 as she gently left this world and entered into her eternal home. Jane was born October 19, 1938 in New Jersey and was raised in Newnan by her parents Karl Burns and Mary Glover Nixon. She received her early education in the Newnan City Schools. After graduation from high school she enrolled in LaGrange College where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Her Master’s Degree in Education was awarded to her by Mercer University. Jane devoted her 30 year career to the field of education and at the time of her retirement she was on the faculty of E. Rivers School. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Todd Nixon Muir. She is survived by her husband Harold Worgan Muir, Jr. of Suwanee. Her children are Harold Worgan Muir III of Athens and Andrew Nixon Muir of Lawrenceville. Also surviving are her grandchildren Andrew Nicholas Muir, Harold Worgan Muir IV and Taylor Davis Muir. She has one sister, Judy Nixon Rountree of Blue Hill, Maine. Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street in Newnan. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Collins officiating.
