Mattie Leona Jackson, age 87, of Senoia passed away on Tuesday, Nov 23, 2010 at Southwest Christian Care. She was born in Tennessee to the late Homer and B. Beatrice (Scott) Buckner. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Edward E. Jackson and Charles Richardson and four brothers & three sisters. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 26, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan, GA. Grace Shadinger, 96, of Newnan died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Newnan Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 4, 1914 in Carroll County, GA to the late Joseph C. Shadinger & Bessie McKinley Shadinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Florence S. Williams, Nell S. Avery, Dorothy S. Hubbard, & William M. Shadinger. She was a member of Lovejoy Memorial United Methodist Church and worked for many years at the Newnan Cotton Mill. The funeral is Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the graveside in Oak Hill cemetery with Pastor Kathy Broadwater officiating. Doris Turnipseed, age 75 of Newnan died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in Newnan, GA. Mrs. Turnipseed was born in Newnan, GA to the late Lewis (Luke) Caldwell and Eva Maude Bishop Caldwell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Frank Matthew Turnipseed; sons, Frank Edward Turnipseed and Gregory Owen Turnipseed; brother, Danny Caldwell . She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Newnan. Doris Adcock Rowe Waggoner, age 82, of Newnan, died November 26, 2010 at Savannah Court of Newnan as a result of complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was born April 8, 1928 and was one of twelve children born to the late William Doncy and Lillie Belle Odom Adcock; all of whom preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death in 1986, was her first husband, Maynard Rowe. Mrs. Waggoner was a well known hairdresser in this area for a number of years and had made her home in Haralson before moving to Newnan. She was a dedicated member of Newnan First Baptist Church. Doris is survived by her husband, Wendell Emory Waggoner of Newnan and an extended family that includes her nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street where the family will receive friends on Sunday evening between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John McDuffie officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. James “Jim” W. Estes, 49, of Newnan, GA died on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born on December 10, 1960 in LaGrange, GA. He was a graduate of the class of 1979 from Hogansville High School where he was a member of the Beta Club. He proudly worked for Chromalloy Georgia for the last twenty years. He was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Susan Estes. The funeral service is Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, Rev. Searcy Jackson officiating. Robert Grady Fields age 72, of Newnan passed away on Saturday November 27, 2010 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Lurlean Fields; wife, Dian Casteen Fields; brother, Lawrence Fields and two grandchildren. Mr. Fields is survived by his children, Donald Grady Fields and his fiance Joyce Buck and her children, Nissa and Carrie Buck; Robert Malone and wife Amanda Fields; Carole Michelle and husband Harold Yawn; Ashley Dian Fields and grandchildren Morgan and Clint Yawn. Mr. Richard Smarsh Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 01, 2010 at his home in Palmetto, GA. Mr. Smarsh was born September 15, 1932 in Cleveland, OH. He grew up in Lorain, OH. He attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Clearview High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was active in the Cub Scouts and was a Cub Master. He worked for B.F. Goodrich Chemical Co. in Avon Lake, OH for 32 years. He retired to Florida where he played golf and rode his bicycle everyday with his group of friends. Whenever anyone needed anything, he was always there to help. He loved to travel. Richard, along with his wife and children, traveled across the United States several times and went on many cruises. His two grandchildren were the loves of his life, he and his wife recently moved to Georgia to be near them and his children. He will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 55 years, Marion; son, Richard “Rick” Smarsh, Jr.; daughter & son-in-law, Ellen & Edward Gue of Sharpsburg, GA; granddaughter, Danielle; grandson, Kevin; sister, Mildred Kiska of Chandler, AZ; brother, Edward Smarsh of Taylorsville, GA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Smarsh & Emily Abbott Smarsh and his brother, John Smarsh.
