Connor Lee Dobbins, infant, of Bryant, Ala. died Aug. 15. Survivors include parents Tracy and Angie Dobbins; sisters Courtney and Candace Dobbins; grandparents Troy and Becky Dobbins and Diana and Everett Cagle. A private graveside service was held in Higdon Cemetery. Arrangements by Moore Funeral Home in Bryant, Ala.

SHERI HAWLEY

Sheri Lynn Hawley, 49, of Trenton died Aug. 19. She was retired from the instructional research department at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, was a member of several organizations and was a member and secretary-treasurer at Woodlawn Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by brother Danny Edwards. Survivors include husband Chuck Hawley, daughter and son-in-law Dessire and Carl Moore of Chattanooga; sons Danny Lane of Trenton, David Lane of Cookeville, Tenn.; parents William "Bill" and Shirley Edwards of Goodrich, Mich.; sister Jean Davis of Waynesville, N.C.; brothers John Edwards of Lapeer, Mich., William "Marty" Edwards of Clarkston, Mich.; grandchildren Christopher Smith and Vincent Moore, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Aug. 22 in the Trenton Chapel with the Rev. John Eldridge officiating. Interment was in Green Corners cemetery in Hadley, Mich. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Woodlawn Baptist Church building fund. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home in Trenton.

LARRY MCSPADDEN

Larry Rex McSpadden, 54, of Henagar, Ala. died Aug. 19 in Fort Payne, Ala. McSpadden was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. McSpadden was preceded in death by parents Joseph H. and Frances Anderson McSpadden and brother Glenn McSpadden. Survivors include wife Carol McSpadden of Henagar, Ala.; son Jason Moore of Henagar; Ala.; daughter Christy McSpadden of Henagar, Ala.; brother Howell McSpadden of Henagar, Ala.; sisters Jewell Chisenhall and Joann Gann both of Fort Payne, Ala.; grandchildren Jacey and Jade Moore and a host of special friends. Funeral services were held in Kerby Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Shankles officiating. Interment was in Henagar Community Cemetery. Arrangements were by Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar, Ala.

ALVENIA TAYLOR

Alvenia G. Taylor, 85, of Lookout Mountain died Aug. 15. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, a housewife and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by husband Luther S. Taylor. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Elaine and David Capehart of Lookout Mountain; son Eddie C. Taylor of Trenton, sisters Irene Atkins of Bridgeport, Ala., Pearl Thompson of Ringgold; brothers Tommy Grant of Chattanooga and Gordan Grant of Hixson, Tenn.; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Aug. 18 in the chapel with the Revs. Lamar Winston and Timothy Winston officiating. Interment was in the Hawkins Cemetery. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home in Trenton.

Glynis H. Withrow

Glynis H. Withrow, 40, of Covington, died June 11, 2004, at Rockdale Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Claude Gerald Hester. Mrs. Withrow has resided in Covington since 1975, formerly from Newberry SC. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Mrs. Withrow enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, floral arranging and interior decorating.

Surviving are her husband, Randall (Randy) L. Withrow of Covington; daughters, Candis (Candy) L. Withrow and Brandy N. Withrow both of Covington; son, Phillip R. Withrow of Covington; mother, Billie D. Hester of Covington; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Chris Budke of Jacksonville, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Jean Hester of Oxford; nieces, April McMullen, Shae Vaughn, Jennifer Davis, Lindsay Kitchens and Libby Allison; great niece, Makiya Kitchens; great nephew, Taylor McMullen and a numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Withrow will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, June 14, 2004, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Rev. Lawrence Lockett officiating, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, June 13, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM. Jerry M. Holmes

Jerry M. Holmes, of Covington died September 22, 2007, at the age of 72. Born in Fulton County to the late John Ernest and Georgia I. Duckett Holmes, Mr. Holmes retired in 2000 as press room manager for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution after 54 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, golfing and dearly loved his family. Mr. Holmes is preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby R. Holmes and Eugene Holmes.

Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Pendelton Holmes of Covington: daughters, Connie Holmes Shannon of Covington, Cathy Holmes McIntosh of Conyers; grandchildren. Jeremy Brett Shannon, Jill Shannon Dyer, Valerie Claire McIntosh; two great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Virginia I. Rice of Austell, Faye Robinson of Fayetteville, Carol and Tommy C. McGahee of Douglasville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marion E. Holmes of Austell, L. Ronnie and Barbara Holmes of Douglasville, Betty Holmes of Smyrna, Margaret Holmes of Woodstock; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Holmes will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2007, 3:00 P. M. at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington with Rev. Gary Thompson officiating and interment following at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Monday, September 24, 2007 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Norman James "Bo" Busbee

Norman James Bo Busbee, of Covington, passed away on September 30, 2007, at the age of 74. Born in Fulton County to the late Norman James, Sr. and Carrie Middlebrooks Busbee, Mr. Busbee was retired from The Atlanta Journal and also as a surveyor and an EMT. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildrens events. Mr. Busbee also enjoyed fishing, making candy, playing cards, singing, hummingbirds and watching the Braves and the Falcons. He was a very humble man who was generous, fun loving and full of life. Mr. Busbee was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Busbee is survived by his wife, Marion Jo Busbee of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Ray Amerson of Covington, Rebecca and Loren Bailey of Monticello; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Sherryl Busbee of Covington; grandchildren, Michelle and Tyson Marrett, Jamey Amerson, Trina and Chris Saltz, Christopher Amerson, Sandi and Chad Smith, Camie and Adam Busbee, Briana and Britton Bailey; 3 step great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Sneed, Hazel Stanley, Betty Jean Waites all of Covington; brothers, Thomas Busbee of Mansfield, Cleveland Busbee of Covington.

Funeral services for Mr. Busbee will be held October 3, 2007, 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, Covington, GA, 30014. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan on Tuesday, October 2,2007, from 6pm-8pm.

Grady Eugene (Bud) Hodges

Grady Eugene (Bud) Hodges, of Mansfield, died peacefully at his home, October 3, 2007, at the age of 73. Born in Newton County to the late Willie Eugene and Belle Thompson Hodges, he was one of the last full time farmers in Newton County. Mr. Hodges was an avid hunter as well as a baseball and softball coach. He was an active member and worker at Sewell Methodist Church in Morgan County, where he served as Sunday school superintendent.

Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife, Sandra Oglesby Hodges of Mansfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Angela Hodges and Bo Thompson, Alonda and Trey Bailey all of Social Circle; sons and daughter-in-law, Tim Hodges and Audrey Green of Social Circle, Grady (Tommy) Hodges of Mansfield; grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Bailey, Carolyn Green, Christine Butler; great-granchild, Camden Green; sisters, Verna Almand of Nahunta, Lois Hamrick of Stone Mountain; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Hodges will be held Friday, October 5, 2007, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Rev. Richard Harris and Rev. Danny Standard officiating and interment following in Sewell Methodist Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Sewell Building Fund, % Sara Jones, 374 Hwy 229, Social Circle, Georgia 30025.The family will receive friends Thursday, October 4, 2007 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P. M. at Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, Covington, 30014.

James L. (Jim) Cabe

James L. (Jim) Cabe of Mansfield, retired Postal Manager, passed away September 15, 2007, after a long battle with prostate cancer. Mr. Cabe held numerous management positions in the finance area in the Atlanta District and Post Office during his 32 year postal career. Included are Chief Finance Examiner, Data Systems Management Officer, Chief Accountant and Manager of Accounting and Reporting Systems. He was affiliated with the Atlanta Postal Credit Union, where he served as a member of the Board of Directors for 24 years and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for 22 years. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church of Social Circle, where he was Treasurer of the church and Treasurer of the Brotherhood.

He is survived by his wife, Ila Harriette Cabe; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Lee Jackson of Dacula; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Marybeth Cabe of Conyers, Jimmy and Melissa Cabe of Mansfield, grandchildren, Shane and Barbara Cabe, Jamie Cabe, Tammy Jackson, Melissa Jackson, Christopher Cabe, Jason Cabe, Jenny Tatum and Allana Simmons; great-granddaughter, Sophia Cabe; brother and sisters-in-law, Hugh and Monteen Green, Genie Green; and his beloved dog, Scooter.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cabe will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2007, at Crossroads Baptist Church, Social Circle, with Pastor Brandon Stanley, officiating, and interment following at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Lawrenceville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church Brotherhood Fund, 227 Highway 229, Social Circle, GA 30025.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home, 1215 Access Road, Saturday night, September 15, from 5 to 9 PM.

Barbara Ann Peters Fuller

Barbara Ann Peters Fuller, of Covington, died September 19, 2007 at the age of 69. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Fuller, Jr. and her son, Scott Fuller.

Mrs. Fuller is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Steve Fowler of Oxford; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Tonya Fuller of Covington; grandchildren, Stephanie Fowler, Trevor Fowler, Tyler Fuller, Josh Fuller; sister, Sara Lavern Holder of AL.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fuller will be held Saturday, September 22, 2007, 2;00 P. M. at the Floyd Street Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home with Pastor David Payne officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Covington.

CORRINE LITTLE BEENE

Corrine Beene, 82, of Rising Fawn died March 24. She was a native of Rising Fawn and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by husband Reubin P. Beene; brothers Robert Little, Jr., Eual Little, S.L. Case, Marvin Little; sisters Romayna McKaig, Onval Dean, and Mary Tucker. Survivors include son Felix L. and Sharon Beene of Rising Fawn; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 25 at Burt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Hairston officiating. Interment was in Beene Cemetery. Arrangements were by Burt Funeral Home in Fort Payne, Ala.

IRENE DANIEL HIGHT

Irene Hight, 90, of Trenton died March 22. She was a resident of Trenton for over 70 years, a homemaker and was a member of Trenton First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husbands Arnold Daniel and Roy Hight, daughter Betty Ann Hight, son Winston Daniel, five sisters and two brothers. Survivors include daughters Imogene Natalizia of Providence, R.I. and Nancy Cannon of Trenton; sons C.L. Daniel of Rossville, Billy Daniel of Trenton, Jerry Daniel of Derby, Conn., 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held March 24 in the chapel with Brother Robert Goff officiating. Interment was in Lake Hills Gardens. Arrangements were by Moore funeral Home in Trenton.

JOAN PATTERSON

Theresa Joan Patterson, 57, died March 27. She was a homemaker and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband Archie Patterson, father Virgil Britton, and sister Gloria "Corky" Brogden. Survivors include sons Erik and Sandra Patterson of Whitwell, Tenn., Lancer and Mandy Patterson of Chattanooga, Jerritt Patterson of Trenton; mother Pat Britton of Trenton; sister Linda Thompson of Marietta; brother Ray Britton of Chattanooga; 11 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held March 29 in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends John Smith and Michael Shrum officiating. Interment was in Hamilton Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home in Trenton.

MARGIE LOU STEPHENS

Margie Lou Stephens, 78, of Wildwood died March 27. She was a member of the Tiftonia Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by parents Calvin and Fannie Mae Lea; sisters Annie Mae, Dorothy, and Catherine; daughter Karen Kay Stephens; and son Terry Stephens. Survivors include husband Elmer Stephens of Wildwood; daughter Coleen Ripper of Wildwood; son Barry Stephens of Winter Haven, Fla.; sister Edna Brown of Wildwood; and brother Robert Lea of Chattanooga, Tenn., several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today in the Ryan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jeff Brown officiating. Interment will be in Sarah Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements will be by Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton.

RUBY IRENE STOWE

Ruby Irene Stowe, 91, of Trenton died March 22. She attended Open Door Baptist Church. Stowe was preceded in death by husband William Berry Stowe. Survivors include daughters Judy Steward of Trenton, Angela Downer Young of Ooltawah, Tenn., Gloria Williams of Chattanooga, Joan Charles of Starke, Fla.; two brothers, two sisters, seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends that loved her. Funeral services were held March 24 at Sarah Chapel cemetery with the Rev. Henry Hooper officiating. Arrangements were by Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton.

KENNETH TYLER

Kenneth Warren Tyler, 75, of Lookout Mountain died March 20. He was a native of Denham Springs, La., and a former resident of Baton Rouge. Tyler was preceded in death by sister Ravelle Hays. Survivors include his wife Ruth Higdon Tyler; daughter and husband Teresa and Paul A. Lipari of Frisco, Texas; son and wife Kenneth Wayne and Susie Tyler of Denham Springs, La.; brother Gary Clark Tyler of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren, Nicole Elizabeth Tyler, Kenneth Wade Tyler; great-granddaughter Hannah Wade Tyler. Funeral services were held March 22 in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Westcott officiating. Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Moore funeral Home in Trenton.
