Rae Michelle Candi Holcomb, 35, of Chickamauga, passed away, Nov. 26. She was a lifelong resident of north Georgia. She was preceded in death by mother Brenda Faye Robertson, father Ray Blackstock, son Jonathan Neal Holcomb and grandmother Margaret Barfield. Survivors include husband Timothy Holcomb; daughter Elizabeth Katelen (Katie) Holcomb; sisters Cathie Leanne Robertson Koop of Ringgold, Brenda Burns of Chickamauga, Kay Hayes of Valley Head, Sharon Barnett and Glenda Tinker both of Trenton; brothers Ray Blackstock, Jr., Chickamauga and Randy Blackstock of Atlanta; grandmother Hazel Blackstock of Savannah; grandfather Paul Barfield of Chickamauga; step-father John Ray Robertson of LaFayette. Funeral services were held Nov. 28 in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Mike Dunwoody and Fred Bradford officiating. Interment was in Deer Head Cove Cemetery. Arrangements by Moore Funeral Home, Trenton.

WILLIAM GADD

William B. Gadd, 74, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Nov. 26. He was a US Army Veteran and of the Baptist faith. He was proceeded in death by his parents George and Alta Gadd. Survivors include his wife Esther Gadd of Bryant; daughter Teena Gadd of Franklin, Pa.; sons Michael Gadd of Ohio, Daniel Gadd of Bryant, Ala. and Rickey Gadd of Albany, Ga.; nine grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 29 in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Winters officiating. Interment was in the National cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home, Bryant, Ala.

JOHN GUINN

John Guinn, 82, of Dutton, died Nov. 28 at Jackson County Hospital. Survivors include wife Joan Guinn of Dutton, Ala., daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Paul Simmons, LaFayette; and friend Kenneth H. Day of Dutton, Ala. Graveside funeral services were held Nov. 29 at the Pleasant View cemetery in Dutton, Ala. with the Rev. Lee Earl Thompson officiating. Arrangements by Kerby Funeral Home, Henagar, Ala.

MARILYN ROLLINGS

Marilyn White Rollings, 55, of Flat Rock, Ala., died Nov. 22 in Huntsville, Ala. She was employed with Shaw Industries of Trenton for 32 years. Rollings was preceded in death by mother Imogene Weldon White. Survivors include father and step-mother Gordon and Virginia White, Henagar, Ala.; son Brian Goolesby, Pisgah, Ala.; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Bill Owens, Henagar, Ala.; brother Wallace White, Rainsville, Ala.; sisters and brothers-in-law Cathy and W.L. Dalton, Rainsville, Ala., Christie and Jimmy McArthur, Fort Oglethorpe; four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 25 in Kerby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Watson Williams and the Dr. Billy Goolesby officiating. Interment was in Lacy's Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were by Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar, Ala.

VIRGINIA SCOTT

Virginia L. Scott, 83, of Flat Rock, Ala., died Nov. 23. She was a member of Ownbey Chapel Seventh Day Adventist Church. Scott was preceded in death by parents Arthur and Minnie Gregory and step-father Anthony Reiling. Survivors include her husband Louis Scott, Flat Rock, Ala.; daughters Elaine Hayden, Fyffe, Ala., Renee Hertenstein, McKinney, Texas; son Patrick Coffey, Homestead, Ala.; sister Pauline Becker, Tyler, Texas; brothers Harold and Arthur Gregory, both of Tempe Fla., Carroll Gregory, Mt. Vernon, Ill., Donald Gregory, Decatur, Ill.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 26 in Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Floral Crest Cemetery. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home in Bryant, Ala.

REUBIN BEENE

Reubin Beene, 81, of Rising Fawn died Feb. 17 at Crowne Health Care and Rehab in Fort Payne, Ala., Funeral services were held Feb. 19 in Valley Head Chapel. Interment was in Beene Cemetery. Arrangements were by Burt Funeral Home in Fort Payne, Ala.

BURRELL CASTLEBERRY

Burrell Castleberry, 71, of Trenton died Feb. 15. He was of the Baptist faith. Castleberry was retired from Hudson Wire Company. He was preceded in death by daughter Debra Ann Castleberry and parents Lenny S. and Dorothy Castleberry. Survivors include wife of 53 years Katherine Castleberry of Trenton; daughter Carolyn Goins of Trenton; sons Vernon L. Castleberry and Donald R. Castleberry both of Trenton; sister Susie Bratton of Cleveland, Tenn.; brothers Alvin Castleberry of Trenton, and Carl Castleberry of Chattanooga, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Feb. 18 in the Ryan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Castleberry officiating. Interment was in Trenton Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements were by Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton.

LORENE ELLIS

Lorene Ellis, 71, of Chattanooga died Feb. 16. She was a native of DeKalb County, Ala., and had lived most of her life in Chattanooga and was the secretary/treasurer of Clifton Hills Community Center. Ellis was preceded in death by husband Harlie Ellis and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include brother R.C. Downer of Trenton, sister Clara Gordon of Chattanooga, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Feb. 19 in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Tom Resuce officiating. Interment was in Lakewood Memory Gardens, West. Arrangements were by Lane Funeral Home in Rossville.

BARNEY WILLIAM HELTON

Barney Helton, 79, of Lookout Valley died Feb. 13. He was a native of Chattanooga. Helton served in the U.S. Navy in the pacific on the battleship Maryland during World War II. He was an experienced carpenter and cabinet builder. Earlier Helton was employed by Olin Conductors and after receiving an associate degree from Chattanooga State he took a position at TVA, from where he retired. He served as an elder at Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church. Helton was preceded in death by parents Walker William and Effie Hoffman Helton, brother Joe Helton, and sister Mary Jane Adams. Survivors include wife of 58 years Maxine Cavin Helton; sons and daughters-in-law Barney Helton II and Marianne, Michael and Tonya Helton; daughters and sons-in-law Ann and Chuck O'Mary, Janet and Phillip Holder; sisters Bill Whitwell and Bettye Davis; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Feb. 15 at South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home on Chickamauga Avenue with the Rev. Everett Gossett and pastor Grady Davidson officiating. Helton's six grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements were by South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory in Rossville.

CHRISTINE GUFFEY HULLANDER

Christine Guffey Hullander, 49, of Ringgold and formerly of Flat Rock, Ala., died Feb. 16 at her residence. Hullander was preceded in death by father James W. Guffey and sister Shirley Childress. Survivors include husband Franklin "Smokey" Hullander of Ringgold; mother Betty Ledbetter of Flat Rock, Ala., son Anthony Coley; daughters Tina and Tammy Coley; sisters Brenda Dunn and Ruby Hawkins both of Flat Rock, Ala., Wilma Smith of Pisgah, Ala., and Kim Benefield of Scottsboro, Ala. Funeral services were held Feb. 18 at Kerby Chapel with the Rev. Larry Haynes officiating. Interment was in Maxwell cemetery in Flat Rock, Ala. Arrangements were by Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar Ala.

JAMES GLEN IVEY

James Ivey, 84, of Ider, Ala., died Feb. 16 at his residence. Ivey was a member of the Ider Masonic Lodge 677, Ider Eastern Star 417, American Legion Post 39, VFW Post 3188, Disabled Veterans, and was a World War II veteran and served in the CCC Camps in the 1930s. He was a retired truck driver with Earthgrains and TT Brooks. Ivey was preceded is death by parents James Russell and Brownie Mae Littlejohn Ivey and sisters Mildred Ivey and Mellie Tucker. Survivors include wife Juanita Beaty Ivey of Ider; son Elton Ray and Pam Ivey of Iverness, Fla.; daughter Patricia Lynn of Ider; brother Barney Ivey of Henagar; sisters Pearl Ivey, Maxine Shankles, Jo Craze and Sue Wilson of Henagar, Jean Ivey of Trenton; grandson Scott Ivey of Inverness, Fla. Funeral services were held Feb. 19 at Kerby Chapel. Interment was in Chestnut Grove cemetery with Masonic Rites. Elders Steve Lea and Melvin Slatton officiating. Arrangements were by Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar, Ala.

KENNETH CLAYTON LONG

Kenneth C. Long, 80, of Chattanooga died Feb. 15. Long was a resident of Chattanooga and Rising Fawn. He retired from the Painter's Local 226 and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army where her received the Purple Heart. Long participated in the Battle of the Bulge with the 17th Airborne Division and continued service in the Florida and Tennessee Army National Guard, with active service during the Cuban Missile Crisis while attaining the rack of master sergeant. He also served in the Naval Reserve attaining the rank of master chief during the Vietnam War. Long held memberships at Temple Baptist Church, East Lake Senior Citizens, East Lake Neighborhood Association, and held a lifetime membership of the VFW 4848. Long was preceded in death by parents John V. and Ollie Hufstettler Long, granddaughter Teresa Meadows, sister Mattie Lou Duggard, and brothers Donald and J.W. Long. Survivors include companion Margaret V. Griffey of Chattanooga, sons and daughter's in-law, Victor and Shirley Long, Joddy and Mary Long, both of Rising Fawn, daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Warren Studstill of Lakeworth, Fla., brother and sister-in-law, Robert C. and Ellen Long of Hixson, nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Feb. 18 in the chapel with the Rev. Ken Trivette and Rev. Aaron Hampton officiating. Interment was in the National cemetery with full military honors. Condolences may be sent at www.heritagefh.com. Arrangements were by Heritage Funeral Home in East Brainerd.

BETTY MASHBURN

Betty Mashburn, 64, died Feb. 15 from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church. Survivors include husband Lloyd Mashburn; daughters Brenda Louis Bolt of Tiftonia, and Mary Ann and husband William Hunnicut of Bryant, Ala., sons and wives, Lloyd and Debbie Mashburn Jr., of Valley Head, Ala., and Darrell and Sonia Mashburn of Rainsville, Ala.; sister Jewell Allen of Rossville, brother Dank Cox of Rossville; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Feb. 18 in Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Rayford Brown and the Rev. Bobby Hilley officiating. Interment was in adjoining cemetery. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home in Bryant, Ala.

THELMA WOOD MORRISON

Thelma Morrison, 86, of Kennesaw died Feb. 17 from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Morrison was a longtime resident of Cobb County. She was a member of the Smyrna First united Methodist Church, Susannah Wesley Class and lifetime member of the United Methodist Women. Morrison will be remembered for her participation and leadership in the Women of the Georgia Power Company, metro West Georgia Power Ambassadors and Marietta Lost Mountain Golden "K" Kiwanis Club. She attended Fitzhugh Lee School, Marietta High School, and Draughon Business School. She was a civilian employee at Robins Air Force Base in Macon during World War II. She later worked for over twenty years at the Family Counseling Center in Smyrna, retiring in 1983. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Jack Gray; son and daughter-in-law Rex and Andrea Morrison; son Don Morrison, and granddaughter Jamie Morrison and grandson Seth Morrison; sister Elizabeth Postle, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Feb. 19 at Ryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Turner officiating. Interment was in the Brock cemetery in Trenton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to: Cherokee Training Center, 133 Univeter Road, Canton, Ga. 30114 Attention Steve; in memory of Thelma Morrison and her grandson Kyle Morrison and in honor of grandson Seth Morrison. Arrangements by Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna and Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton.

VIRGIE TOWNSON

Virgie Eugene Molene Townson, 95, of Bryant, Ala., died Feb. 17. She was a member of Haney's Chapel in Guntersville, Ala. Townson was preceded in death by husband Guy Townson, four brothers, two sisters, and parents Jim and Mattie Mayo Survivors include daughters Elva Townson, Lottie Douglas, Mavis Kennemore, Judy Crow, all of Bryant, Ala., Betty Cloud of Higdon, and Reba Manson of Killeen, Texas; sons Kenneth, Freeman, Royce Ray, Jimmie, and Jerry Townson, all of Bryant, Ala.; sisters Mary Kennemer and Juanita York both of Boaz, Ala.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Feb. 20 in the Moore Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Hixon and the Rev. Wayne Winters officiating. Interment was in Bryant Free Holiness Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wesley R. Kennemore, Darrell Townson, Justin "Pug" Lloyd, Cory Brooks, Germi "Pistol" Cloud, and Brian Blevins. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home in Bryant, Ala.

REUBIN BEENE

Reubin Beene, 81, of Rising Fawn died Feb. 17 at Crowne Health Care and Rehab in Fort Payne, Ala. Survivors include wife Corrine Little Beene; son and daughter-in-law Felix and Sharon Beene; grandchildren , Tracy and Mark Houston, Felica and Brian Chesser, Jason and Tracy Beene, Scott and Crystal Kyle; great-grandchildren Britt and Ashley Houston, Alexa Chesser, and Anson Beene. Funeral services were held Feb. 19 at Burt Funeral Home Chapel in Valley Head, Ala. Interment was held in Beene Cemetery. Arrangements were by Burt Funeral Home in Fort Payne, Ala.

TERESA ELLIS BURRESS

Teresa "Terri" Ellis Burress, 38, of Scottsboro, Ala., died Feb. 23. She was a native of Bryant, Ala., was employed by North Jackson Bank, a member of the American legion Auxiliary Post 30 in Scottsboro, Ala., attended Living Word Ministries, and was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Survivors include husband Paul Burress Sr., Scottsboro, Ala.; daughter Patricia Lynn Burress, Ferryday, La.; sisters Kim Davis, Bryant, Ala., Michelle Ellis, Debbie Ellis and Anita McClesky all of Chattanooga; parents Edward and JoAnn Ellis, Bryant, Ala.; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home, Bryant, Ala.

JESSIC NICOLE CLARK CROWE

Jessica Crowe, 19, of Henegar, Ala., died Feb. 20. She was preceded in death by grandfather Jefferson Davis Clark. Survivors include husband Jimmy Don Crowe; mother Darlene Phillips Clark Largent; father George Davis Clark; sister Vanessa Clark; grandparents Jimmy and Elaine Phillips and Tim and Ruby Walraven; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Feb. 24 in the Corner Stone Chapel with Rev. Jerry Wilkerson officiating. Interment was in Smith Cemetery. Arrangements were by Corner Stone Funeral Home, Henegar, Ala.

ANN GANN

Ann "Granny" Gann, 89, of Rossville died Feb. 27 in a local health care facility. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Rossville area and was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church. Gann was employed for many years as a dietician at Kingwood Baptist Church. Gann was preceded in death by husband the Rev. W.G. Gann. Survivors include son William S. Gann of Fayetteville, N.C.; daughters Nina Stone of Lookout Mountain and Nancy Potts of Rossville; sister Katherine Bowman of Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 1 at Lakewood Memory Gardens South with the Rev. Ron Perry officiating. Interment was in Lakewood Memory Gardens. Arrangements were by South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory.

ALADCAN HIGDON

Aladcan Higdon, 84, of Chattanooga died Feb. 25. She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a lifelong member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Higdon was preceded in death by parents Mary and Lawrence Higdon Sr., and brother William Higdon. Survivors include sisters Juanita Mabee of East Ridge, Elizabeth Martin of Chattanooga, Marianne McCroskey of Chattanooga, and Joyce Young of Trenton; brother, Lawrence Higdon Jr., of Trenton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Feb. 28 at the South Crest Chapel. Interment was in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory in Rossville.

RAYBURN L. LAMBERT JR.

Rayburn L. Lambert, Jr., 35, of Sylvania, Ala., died Feb. 23 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham, Ala. He was preceded in death by son Daniel Lambert. Survivors include father and step-mother Rayburn and Lakieth Lambert; mother Judy Lambert; wife Robin Collins Lambert; daughters Christa Whitman, Erika Lambert and Marhisa Lambert; step-sons Dakota and Austin Russell; brother Chris Lambert. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Kerby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was held in Henagar Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were by Kerby Funeral Home, Henagar, Ala.

HILDA LAWRENCE

Hilda Lawrence, 73, of Rising Fawn died Feb. 24. She was a homemaker and member of the Rising Fawn Church of Christ. Lawrence was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Lawrence. Survivors include daughters Debby Isken and Linda Lawrence; sons Steven Lawrence and John Lawrence; grandchildren Greg Gilbert, Jessey Lawrence and Alishia Lawrence. Funeral services were held Feb. 28 in the Trenton Chapel with minister Alan Brown officiating. Interment was in Hannah Cemetery. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home in Trenton.
