Mrs. Margie Anderson
AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mrs. Margie Anderson, 75, entered into rest on Friday, January 14, 2005 at University Hospital. She is the widow of the late George S. Anderson, Sr.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 17, 2005 at Fleming Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Billy Atkins officiating. Burial followed in Westover Memorial Park.
A native of Augusta, Mrs. Anderson was a member of Fleming Baptist Church for 50 years and she was a member of the Ruth Baptist Class and sang in the sanctuary choir.
She is survived by two sons, George S. Anderson, Jr., Roland L. Anderson, Sr., both of Augusta; one brother, Dorsey Peebles of Adrain, Ga.; two sisters, Joann James of Augusta and Nell King of Thomson; four grandchildren, Brian Anderson, Jessica Thornton, Lee Anderson, Peter Anderson and two great-grandchildren, Brian Anderson, Jr. and Alexis Anderson.
Pallbearers were Brian Anderson, Lee Anderson, Ben Thornton, Steve Peebles, Robert Austin, Joe Holland, Tom Miller and Dale Renfroe.

Ms. Deborah Jean Darnell
HEPHZIBAH, Ga.- Ms. Deborah Jean Darnell, 51, formally of Augusta went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital after an extended illness.
Ms. Darnell was the daughter of the late Amos and Katherine Darnell of Augusta.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Telfair Street Chapel with the Rev. Phil Braye officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery.
Survivors include four sisters, Barbara and her husband Clark Souza Sr., Martinez, Billie Ann Greene, Bremen, AL, Linda Johnson, Hephzibah, Brenda and her husband, Lynn Jerry Reeves Sr., Dearing; two brothers, Ray and his wife Linda Darnell, Gary and his wife Mae Darnell both of Blythe; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Ms. Darnell was a 1973 graduate of Glenn Hills High School. She was a part time employee of the Carswell Jewelry Store for 10 years. Ms. Darnell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Waynesboro. Deborah was the baby sister of our family. She will be remembered for her bravery, loyalty and loving heart and kindness to everyone. Deborah touched our lives with the spirit of an angel, and gave joy and love to all those who knew her.
Serving as pallbearers were Woodrow Stringer, Ray Glen Greene, Lynn Jerry Reeves, Jr., Mark Arrington, Tony Walden, Kenny Darnell.

Mr. Ernest Willie Amerson
KEYSVILLE, Ga.- Mr. Ernest Willie Amerson, 60, died Saturday, January 8, 2005 in the Gibson Health and Rehab following declining health.
He was born in Burke County on June 3, 1944, a son of the late John Willie Amerson and Rosa Lee Windon Amerson and had lived most of his life in Keysville. He was of the Baptist faith and was a former employee of Georgia-Tennessee Mining Company.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Hall of Wrens; stepchildren, Janice Wilcher, Carolyn Prickett and David Hall, all of Wrens; sisters, Bessie Atkinson of Waynesboro and Lucille Stewart of Perkins; a brother, John Willie Amerson of Thomson; half-brothers, Clarence Atkinson and Johnny Atkinson; half-sisters, Katherine Petrey and Jenny Simpson; grandchildren, John Aaron King, Aaron Robert King, Leslie Palmore and dear good friend, Kenny Jenkins.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 3 p.m. in the Keysville United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Bill Arrington officiating.
Pallbearers were comprised of Sam Prickett, Larry Prickett, Steven Wilcher, Ricky Prickett, Curtis Unruh and Donnie Prickett.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Ernest Willie Amerson were conducted by the DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home of Waynesboro.
Mr. Wayne R. Bull
Retired Postman
HARLEM, Ga.- Mr. Wayne R. Bull, 71, husband of the late Mrs. Micheline Bull, of Harlem, Ga., entered into rest Friday January 7, 2005, at the Doctor's Hospital Augusta, Ga. Mr. Bull, a native of New York, was a retired postman and an U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Roxanne Cassady, of Matthews, and Corinne McCord, of Thomson; one son, John Bull, of Grovetown; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
No service will be held.
Miss Angela Elizabeth Donoughe
UGA college student
THOMSON, Ga.- Miss Angela Elizabeth Donoughe, 21 of Thomson, Ga. entered into rest January 2, 2005 at her residence.
She is survived by her parents, Daniel Edward and Marcia Knauber Donoughe of Thomson; maternal grandparents, Alice and Robert Knauber of Lancaster, NY; paternal grandparents, Wilda and Clarence Donoughe of Shenadoah, VA; maternal aunts and uncles, Bob Knauber, Jr., Linda Bain, Norma Reid, Richard Knauber, Mark Knauber, Mike Knauber, and Peter Knauber, all of NY and Mary Floss of AZ; paternal aunts and uncles, Charlotte Brickford, Donna MacDonald, Theresa Cannon, Francis Donoughe, Anna Marie Full, all of NY, Bonnie Flack of VA, Nancy Penne of MI and Bob Donoughe of TX.
Miss Donoughe was born in Tonawanda, N.Y. and lived in Thomson for most of her life. She was a 2001 graduate of Thomson High School. She received her Associates Degree at Augusta State University and was presently majoring in psychology at the University of Georgia in Athens. She was member of the Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her uncle, David Donoughe.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2005 at the Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Edward O'Connor the Celebrant. Interment was held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.

TIGNALL, Ga.- Mrs. Evelyn Poole Eggers, 82, died Jan. 6, 2005, at Thomson Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services were held at the Tignall Independence United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Lamon officiating.

Mr. Bobby Giles Keith Sr.
Retired Businessman
THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. Bobby Giles Keith Sr., 77, beloved husband of Mrs. Carol Keith, died Thursday, January 6, 2005, in University Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 8, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Widener officiating. Burial was in the Scruggs Cemetery, Norwood, Ga.
Mr. Keith was a native of Warren County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was the retired owner/operator of Keith Amusement Service after 56 years of service. He was a member of the Norwood United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Ailee Shrine and the Franklin Masonic Lodge of Warrenton, serving both for 50 years. He was also a member of the Thomson Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Keith, Thomson; two sons, Bob Keith, Jr. and Jon 'Buzz' Keith, both of Thomson; two daughters, Dottie Land Harper and Geneie Land Mitchum, both of Thomson; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tony McMichael, Lee Montgomery, Mike Hobbs, Doug Lord, John Richards and Mark Adams.

Dr. Thomas Jefferson Neal
THOMSON, Ga.- Dr. Thomas Jefferson Neal, 82, died Thursday, January 6, 2005, at McDuffie Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Neal, a retired dentist, was a native and lifelong resident of Thomson. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Thomson and a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. A respected community leader, Dr. Neal served 22 years on the McDuffie County Board of Education, was a Paul Harris and Will Watt Fellow of Thomson Rotary International and served on the Boards of Directors of the Bank of Thomson and First Federal Savings and Loan. A graduate of Emory University School of Dentistry, and one of four generations in dentistry, Dr. Neal was an Honorary Fellow of the Georgia Dental Association in recognition of more than 50 years of service to the profession of dentistry in Georgia. Dr. Neal was married
to the late Mary Claire Morgan Neal.
He is survived by a daughter, Nan Neal Tam and two sons, Thomas Jefferson Neal, Jr. and Linton Mathews Neal, all of Thomson. Other survivors include five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Saturday, January 8, 2005, at 4 p.m. at Westview cemetery in Thomson, with Rev. Robert C. Gillespie and Dr. George R. Freeman officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were members of The Promise Keepers and members of the men's Bible class at the Thomson First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Thomson, GA 30824, or to local affiliates of Gideons International.

Apostle Forrest Thompson
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Apostle Forrest Thompson entered into rest December 27, 2004 at University Hospital.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2005 at the United House of Prayer, Augusta, with the Apostle C.M. Bailey officiating. Interment was in the United House of Prayer Cemetery, Dearing, Ga., on Monday, January 3, 2005.
Apostle Thompson was the former pastor of the United House of Prayer, Harlem Mission. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry from West Virginia State College. He began his Civil Service career as a Laboratory Technician at Oliver General Hospital and Eisenhower Medical Center. He also received a Doctorate of Juris Prudence Degree. He retired as an Equal Employment Opportunity Officer at Fort Gordon. Apostle Forrest was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. He organized the first all-black Reserve Unit, 210 Signal Corps in Augusta. He continued to study and work with the Reserves for a number of years and achieved the rank of Captain.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife of 48 years, St. Doretha Thompson; a son, Alexander Miguel (Valerie) Thompson; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Thompson and Ida (Landirs) Williams; a brother, Willie H. (Dorothy) Thompson; one granddaughter, Ava Noelle Thompson; one aunt, Hattie Bradshaw; a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the residence or after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Jack Porter Wall, Sr.
MARIETTA, Ga.- Mr. Jack Porter Wall, Sr., an avid runner and World War II veteran, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
He is survived by his wife, Delene C. Wall; sons, Jack Porter Wall, Jr., Randall E. Wall (wife, Lynnea), David M. Wall (wife, Holly), Peter A. Conrady and grandsons, R.J. Wall and Brandon George.
A beloved husband and father, Jack was born in Thomson, and had been a resident of the Atlanta area for more than 30 years. He was a member of Smyrna First Baptist Church. He was a retired member of IBEW and worked with several organizations including White Electric, Cleveland Electric and Signal Point Systems. Jack was a long time member of the Atlanta Track Club and participated in 22 Peachtree Road Races and two Dallas White Rock Marathons among various other races in and around the Southeast. Known for his love of Dixieland jazz music and use of southern colloquialisms, he was indeed 'mighty fine'.
A funeral service was held at Smyrna First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Steve Kimmel officiating. Interment followed at Kennesaw Memorial Park. Arrangements by H. M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30068.
Miss Tammy R. Bryant
NEW ELLENTON, S.C.- Miss. Tammy R. Bryant, 24, of New Ellenton, S.C., was called away from this mortal shore to be with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at her residence.
The funeral service was held Monday, January 3, 2005, at the Zion Hill Baptist Church, (Talatha Comm.), Aiken, S.C. with Rev. Joseph Cook officiating. The interment was immediately following in the church cemetery.
Miss Bryant, a native of Augusta, Ga., was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church and a graduate of Silver Bluff High School, Oaken, S.C. Miss. Bryant, was a very lovable young lady that will truly be missed by a very loving and devoted family and compassionate friends.
She leaves precious memories in the hearts of her survivors, her parents, Eddie Bryant and Bernice Smalley Bryant, of the home; one brother, Eddie D. Bryant, Orangeburg, S.C.; her paternal grandmother, Matilda Bryant, New Ellenton, S.C.; her maternal grandmother, Ollie M. Smalley, Thomson, Ga.; five uncles, one aunt; and a host of other loving relatives and consoling friends.
Mr. Addison M. Burt
WASHINGTON, Ga.- Mr. Addison M. Burt, of Washington, died December 30, 2004.
Mr. Burt served his country in the United States Army from 1944-1946. He organized Burt Lumber Company in 1957. He was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church and was serving as Chairman of The Board of Trustees. He was a member of the C.S.R.A. Law Enforcement Officers' Association; the C.S.R.A. Planning and Development Committee; Director of Wilkes County Chamber of Commerce; and a member of the National Chamber of Commerce.
As a City Councilman for 16 years, he served on the Bi-Racial Committee and as Chairman of the Police Committee, was on the Board of Directors of The Community Fund; member of Rotary International; was a Free and Accepted Mason, York Rite Mason; a member of the Small Businessmen's Association, where he served on the Advisory Council; served as Executive Director of the Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers' Association and also on the Grading and Standards Committee; served as Chairman of the Wilkes County Republican Party for eight years and also served on the Wilkes County Industrial Development Committee.
Honorary distinctions include the Community Award, Who's Who in Politics, Who's Who in the South and Southeast, 1972 Small Businessman of the year for Georgia; Board of Directors Farmers & Merchants Bank, in 1972; Named 'Boss of the Year' by the Jaycees; received the Jim Granade Community Service Award by the Washington Rotary Club for 1995-1996.
Mr. Burt was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Duffy and Dinah Moore Burt and his brother, Clifford Dorsey Burt. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise Dunaway; two daughters, Lavenia B. Henderson and husband, Brian, Washington and P. Carol Burt, St. Simon's Island, Ga.; grandchildren, Addison Burt Goolsby and Lynn Scott Goolsby, Thomson, Barrington Wayne Goolsby and Cindy Jorgenson Goolsby, Washington; great grandchildren, Lindsey Goolsby, Burt Goolsby, Anna Goolsby and Maria Goolsby; step-granddaughters, Kimberly H. Collins, Wilkesboro, N.C., Karen H. Church and husband, Michael, Wilkesboro, N.C. and Kathleen Beck and husband, Matt, Orlando, Fla.; step-great-grandchildren, Kierstyn Collins, Zackery Church and Madelyn Church.
