Mr. Kevin T. Caldwell
NEW ELLENTON, S.C.- Mr. Kevin T. Caldwell, 32, of New Ellenton, was called away from this mortal shore to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at his residence.
The funeral service was held Monday, January 3, 2005, at the Zion Hill Baptist Church (Talatha Community), Aiken, with Rev. Joseph Cook officiating. The interment was immediately following in the church cemetery.

Mr. Caldwell, a native of Augusta, Ga. was a member of the Barder Host Methodist Church, Thomson, Ga. and a graduate of Silver Bluff High School, Aiken.

He leaves precious memories in the hearts of his survivors, his step-father and mother, Eddie Bryant and Vernice Smalley Bryant, of the home; his father, Charlie Caldwell, Thomson, Ga.; two half-brothers, Eddie D. Bryant, Orangeburg, Derrick Blue, Augusta, Ga.; maternal grandmother, Ollie M. Smalley, Thomson, Ga.; 10 uncles; 10 aunts and a host of other loving relatives and consoling friends.

Mr. Horace Spencer Clark
APPLING, Ga.- Mr. Horace Spencer Clark, 53 of Appling, Ga., entered into rest January 2, 2005 at Medical College of Georgia.
He is survived by three daughters, Jaime Clark Gallagher and her husband, Michael, Alicia Clark and Courtney Clark; a son, Brandon Clark; four brothers, Richard Clark, James Clark, Bruce Clark and Coley Clark; a sister, Deborah McNeal and four grandchildren, Christopher Gallagher, Alexandra Gallagher, Karsen Clark and Kearstin Clark.

Mr. Clark was the son of the late James Clark and the late Sara Inez Bryant Clark. He was born in Richmond County, but had lived most of his life in Columbia County. He was employed at Temple Industries and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Clark.

Graveside services were held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dan White officiating.

Pallbearers were Ricky Clark, Travis Clark, Wesley Clark, Chris Bryant, Kenneth Culbreth, and Gary Nimmons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5970 Cobbham Road, Appling, GA, 30802.

Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Viola Bell Tankersley Dozier
APPLING, Ga.- Mrs. Viola Bell Tankersley Dozier, 91 of Appling, Ga., entered into rest January 1, 2005 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Tankersley and her husband, Vernon Dozier.

She was the loving mother of two daughters, Genie Bufford and Linda Jordan; two sons, Larry Tankersley and his wife, Susan and Allen Tankersley, all of Winfield, Ga.; three step-children, Faye Dozier of Appling, Ga., Chris Dozier of Maryland and Terry Dozier of N.C.; 22 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dozier was the daughter of the late Carlton Bell and the late Laura Mansfield Bell. She was born in Wilkes County, Ga., but had been a lifelong resident of the Winfield Community. She was retired from Kingsley Mill and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Dunn's Chapel Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Mark Taylor and Rev. Dan White officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5970 Cobbham Road, Appling, Ga., 30802 or Dunn's Chapel Methodist Church, 6563 Ridge Road, Appling, Ga., 30802.

Mr. J. B. Heard
THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral services for Mr. J. B. Heard, 72, of Thomson, were held on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Rogers Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, Rev. Andrew Grant, officiating. Interment was in Society Cemetery, Mesena, Ga.
Survivors are devoted companion, Mrs. Juanita Moss, Thomson; nine children, Lincoln West of California, Willie B. Heard, Beulah Parks, Robert Lee Heard, Deloris Heard, Melvin Heard and Annette Atkins, all of Thomson, J. B. Winfrey of Mesena and Mary Ann Hubert of Atlanta; stepchild, Deloris Roberts, Thomson; 29 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Judith Teresa Logan Johnson
HEPHZIBAH, Ga.- Entered into rest Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at the St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta, Ms. Judith Teresa Logan Johnson, 58, of Hephzibah. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2004, at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, Harlem, with the Rev. Charles Broome officiating. Interment was in the Westview Cemetery, Thomson.
Mrs. Johnson, a native of Richmond County, was a former employee of W.C. Caye and Company. She was a member of the Curtis Baptist Church and Ladies Adult Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two sons, Fred William Johnson, III, and Michael Bryant Johnson, of Hephzibah; one daughter, Teresa Johnson Radford, of Dearing; one sister, Karen Mays, of Harlem; six grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Elizabeth Radford, Richard Radford, Brandon Radford, and Dillon Radford and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Michael McCullough, Paul Dukes, Richard Hart, Hughlon Mays, Dennis Gunby, and John McDaniel.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, PO Box 318 Memphis, TN 38101 St. Joseph Hospice Care, 2260 Wrightsboro Rd. Augusta, GA 30904, Medical College of Georgia Children's Hospital, 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912, or Curtis Baptist Building Fund, 1326 Broad Street, Augusta, GA 30901.

Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mitte S. Jones
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.- Mrs. Mitte S. Jones, 85, wife of the late Oscar W. Jones, Sr. entered into rest January 1, 2005.
Funeral services were held Monday January 3 at 1 p.m. at the Rowland Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Eleazer Benenhaley and Dr. Richard Wilson officiating. Interment was in Pineview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Jones was a native of Thomson, Ga. and had lived in North Augusta for the past 60 years. She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and had retired from Belk's. She was preceded in death by brothers, George, Percy, Johnny and Chester Spears and a sister Maggie Spears Hundley.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn J. Lamb (Jim) of Columbia and Barbara J. Pleasant (Kevin) of Belvedere; one son, Oscar W. Jones, Jr. (Faye) of McDonough, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Craig Jones, Marshall Jones, Deborah Jones Callahan, Kimberly Lamb Cooper, Jim Lamb, Jr., Elysha Pleasant Saunders and Hershal Pleasant; 14 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Craig Jones, Sean Callahan, Marshall Jones, Jim Lamb, Jr., Hershal Pleasant and Roy Barrs.

Mrs. Jan C. McCarty, Homemaker
WASHINGTON, Ga.- Mrs. Jan C. McCarty, 43, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at her residence.
Graveside services were held Sunday, January 2, 2005, in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.

Mrs. McCarty was a native of McDuffie County, but had lived in Wilkes County for many years. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Miss Jennifer McCarty, Washington; her father, Jack Cartledge, Washington and her brother, Jeffery L. Cartledge, Thomson.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Richard Louis Redd
Thomson Police Officer
THOMSON, Ga.- Entered into rest Friday, December 31, 2004, Mr. Richard Louis Redd, age 51.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2005 at Westview cemetery with Chaplain Ken Gross officiating.

Mr. Redd was a native of Augusta and had made Thomson his home for the past eight years. He was a member of the Thomson Police Department. Mr. Redd was also a former Deputy and Fireman for Richmond County and a former Deputy of Columbia County. He was a co-founder of the annual 9-11 memorial luncheon in Thomson and a member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement -- a motorcycle organization for police officers.

Survivors include one son, Steven Redd, Augusta; one daughter, Jean Grieger and her husband, Al, Beaufort, SC; his father, William (Bill) and step mother, Judy, Augusta; his mother, Patsy Ellison Hankinson, North Augusta, SC; two brothers, Billy Redd, Greeley, Iowa, Richard Hankinson IV, North Augusta, SC; one sister, Mary Alice Mitchell , North Augusta, SC; maternal grandmother, Bernice Ellison, Modoc, SC and two grandchildren, Ryan and Hailey Grieger.

Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Thomson Police Department.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA, 22038-1131 or to a charity of one's choice.

Mr. E. D. Thompson
Retired Bell South Employee
THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. E. D. Thompson, 75, beloved husband of Mrs. Ann Thompson, of Thomson, died Friday, December 31, 2004, in Doctors Hospital.
Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 2, in the Sweetwater Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Garvin officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Donald Toole, Tommy Feagin, Carl Feagin, Brian Hight, William Bryant Swan, Jr., Jimmy Sisson, Herman Thompson and Martin Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was a native of Waynesboro, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Sweetwater Baptist Church, where he was a Trustee and Deacon Emeritus. He was a member and very active in the Thomson Lions Club, was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers and had retired from Southern Bell after many years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Thompson, of Thomson; four sons, Thomas Lee Thompson, Bruce Thompson, both of Thomson, Glynn Thompson of Gibson and Rodney Thompson of Dearing; one brother, Enon Thompson of North Augusta S.C.; one sister, Mardrie Toole of North Augusta, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Chris Thompson, Philip Thompson, Jessica Thompson, B. J. Thompson, Stephanie Thompson, Lydia Thompson and Jordan Barnes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Linton Moss
NORWOOD, Ga.- The funeral for Mr. Linton Moss, 79, of Norwood, was held on Monday, December 27, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Norwood, Rev. W. J. Howard, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Moss, Norwood; five daughters, Helen Drake, Louise Berry, Ruby Berry, Geraldine Berry, all of Norwood and Elma Hudson of Mesena; three sons, Willie Moss, Linton Moss, Jr., both of Thomson, James Moss of Atlanta; two sisters, Annie R. Hill of Augusta and Mattie Ivey of Warrenton; 32 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilma Jean Cox Nunn
AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mrs. Wilma Jean Cox Nunn, of Augusta, beloved wife of Mr. Tim S. Nunn and daughter of the late Wilbur and Dorothy Cox, entered into rest on Thursday, December 23, 2004.
Funeral services were held at Crawford Avenue Baptist Church on Monday, December 27, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Joey Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Additional survivors include a son, Steven Nunn and wife, Jennifer of Martinez; two daughters, Shannon Bailey and husband, Ricky, Allison Nunn, all of Augusta; 10 sisters, Charlotte Coleman of Warrenton, Kim McGee of Dearing, Arlene Stanfield, Darlene Inglett, Janice Howell, Deborah Cox, Vickie Harrison, Jackie Cox, Montez Taylor and Tammy Baird, all of Augusta and three grandchildren, Audrey Nunn, Blake Bailey and Erin Bailey.

A native of Augusta, Mrs. Nunn was a member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church and was a cashier at the Medical College of Georgia.

Active pallbearers were Mrs. Nunn's brothers-in-law and nephews.

If so desired, memorials may be made to Crawford Avenue Baptist Church, 507 Crawford Ave., Augusta, Ga. 30904.
