THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Sara F. Hunt, 92, widow of Mr. George Hunt died Thursday August 3, 2006 in the McDuffie Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday August 5, 2006 in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Kerr & Rev. Liza Marler officiating. Burial followed in the Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. Hunt was a native of McDuffie County, a member of Thomson First United Methodist Church, and was a retired clerical worker at the McDuffie County Court House.
She is survived by a sister Mary Fanning of Thomson; nieces, Brenda Newman and Anne Haynes; nephews, William Fanning, James Fanning, John Eckley and John Fanning; sister-in-law, Sara Fanning; caregivers, Lizzie Huff and Rossie Lewis.

THOMSON, Ga. - A funeral service for Mr. Eddie Roberts, 72, of Thomson, was held on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the New Zion Hill AME Church, Rev. Lathan Mills, officiating, interment in the church cemetery.
Survivors are devoted companion, Ernestine Thely, Thomson; eight children and three stepchildren, Hosie L. Roberts (Shirley), Fannie Mae Ivery (Bill), Eddie L. Roberts, Jr. (Carol) Larry Roberts, Patricia Moment (Snelling), Sheila Davis ( Robert), Shanta C. Davis (Tawanda), Lawanna Davis (Niema), Katisha Linsdey (John), Dorothy C. Hampton (Marvin) and Sylvester Durham (Vivian); three sisters, Juanita R. Moss, Lucille R. Kendrick (Ervin), and Nancy H. McNair (Robert); four brothers, Freeman Roberts, Austin Roberts, Sr., George Willie Roberts (Linda) and Sam Roberts; 27 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; aunts, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Mary Frances Spence
Augusta, GA. - Mrs. Mary Frances Spence, wife of the late J.W. Spence Sr.; entered into rest on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Westwood Nursing Home.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Platt's Crawford Ave. Chapel with Dr. Jake Malone officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Belton cemetery in Belton, S.C.
Mrs. Spence was born October 3, 1927, in Belton, to the late Earnest and Ruth Strickland Shirley. In 1945, she married
J.W. Spence, Sr. and made her life in Augusta. She was a real estate broker with Century 21 Spence Realty, a member of the Augusta Board of Realtors, the Augusta Women Board of Realtors, and a member of the Million Dollar Club. She was lead sales associate with Macy's, Inc. She was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church of Augusta.
Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother David E. Shirley, and her granddaughter Angela Spence White.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Phillips, and son in law, Bob, of Naselle, WA; her son James W. Spence Jr., and daughter in law Mary Ruth of Thomson; and her son, David Keith Spence and daughter in law, Amber of Sacremento, Cal.; five grandchildren, Maxwell L. Mitchell (Carissa), Mieko Mitchell, Kelly Evans (Butch), Brandy Shelton and Jeremy Spence, and four great grandchildren Anthony Mitchell , Nicholas Mitchell, Mary Lynn Evans and David Evans.

MANHASSET, N.Y. - Mrs. Malvina Dixon Anderson entered into rest on July 26, 2006, in Manhasset, NY.
A native of Sparta, she leaves to cherish her many memories two brothers, Mr. Clarence (Leola) Dixon Jr. and Mr. Robert Dixon; two sisters, Ms. Willie Dale Dixon and Ms. Marion Bernice Gray; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Phyllis Dixon and Ms. Vivian Dixon; a host of nieces, nephews, several great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 4, 2006, 1 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, Sparta, GA. Rev. Felton G. Poole, officiating. Interment Dixon Memorial Gardens.

APPLING, Ga. - Mrs. Georgie Lee Edmonds Story, 94, of the Winfield community, widow of Mr. Herbert L. Story, died Monday July 31, 2006, at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2006, in the Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Burial followed in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andrew Dial, Ryan Dial, Ethan Thomas, Emory Thomas, Dustin Lott, Tim Sikes, Tyler Sikes and Nickolas Thomas.
Mrs. Story was a native of Lincolnton, a daughter of the late John G. and Nattie Strother Edmonds, she was a homemaker and a member of Damascus Baptist Church for 70 years.
She is survived by daughter, Peggy Thomas of Appling; four sons, John Story of Oxford, Ronnie Story of Ocala, Fla, David Story of Atlanta, Allen Story of Adel; 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

THOMSON, Ga. - Homegoing services for Mr. Howard Moton of Thomson, Ga., were celebrated on Friday, August 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the House of God Church of God in Christ with Bishop Mark Walden officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors are his devoted wife, Sis. WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Virginia Story Nealey entered into rest Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warrenton.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at 3 p.m. at the Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church, Warrenton, Rev. Christopher Andrews officiating. Interment in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include four sons, Harry Nealey, Larry Nealey, Thurman Nealey and Donald Nealey; two daughters, Mildred Berry and Minnie Robinson; 10 grandchildren, a sister, Naomi Story Paschal.

Miss Myrtis Washington
DEARING, Ga. - Miss Myrtis Washington, 85, entered into rest Tuesday May 23, 2006, at Thomson Manor Nursing Home. She was the beloved daughter of the late Pearl W. Beasley and sister of the late Roy B. Beasley.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Silver Run Baptist Church with the Rev. John McMillan officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her sister-in-law Joyce Beasley, of Dearing; two nieces, Nancy Beasley Merryman, of Dearing, and Donna Beasley, of Augusta; two nephews, David (Judy) Beasley, Sr., of Dearing, and Ralph (Dionne) Beasley, of Marietta; one great nephew, David Beasley, Jr., of Augusta; three great nieces, Brianna Beasley, of Dearing, Elyse Beasley, of Marietta, Amber Merryman, of Dearing; and one great-great nephew Brent Beasley, of Savannah; and numerous cousins.

Mr. Walter Herman Galloway
GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mr. Walter Herman Galloway, beloved husband of Ae Cha Galloway, entered into rest at his residence on Sunday, January 29, 2006.
Mr. Galloway worked in Maintenance for the Columbia County School System. He was a member of Augusta-Korean Methodist Church where he was a teacher for 10 years.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 1 p.m. from Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Yong S. Lee officiating. Interment followed at Harlem City Cemetery.
Survivors include his son, Walter James Galloway; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hilliard Galloway; three brothers, Roland (LaVerne) Galloway, Harlem, Hilliard Galloway, Dearing, and Clinton (Mary) Galloway, Thomson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Wolfgang Galloway, 2004.

WARRENTON, Ga. - Funeral services for Mr. Elbert Grays of Warrenton were held on Saturday, February 25, 2006, at 3 p.m. at the Stoney Grove CME Church with Rev. Ralph Moore officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors are his parents, Sam and Louise Grays of Warrenton; five sisters and one brother, Emma Turman, Warrenton, Francis Wiley and Annie Leslie of Thomson, Louise Freeman of Greenwood, S.C. and Betty Shabazz of Augusta, Billy Grays of Thomson; other relatives and friends.
