HARLEM, Ga. - Mr. Thomas H. Jones, 82, beloved husband of Louise Jones, entered into rest Thursday, July 13, 2006 at University Hospital, Augusta.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Harlem Baptist Church, Harlem with the Rev. Phillip Vestal officiating. Burial was in the South Harlem Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Jones was a native of Giles County, Tenn., and the son of the late Persis and Eula Jones. He received the Victory Medal, Purple Heart and Cluster Medal in WWII. He was a member of the Harlem Baptist Church, Woodmen of the World, VFW of Harlem and Masonic Lodge No. 276. Mr. Jones was a Civil Service retiree.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Louise Watson Jones; one son, Tommy (Alice) Jones, Harlem; four daughters, Edee (Kenny) Sweatman, Harlem, Susan (Steve) Hall, Milledgeville, Lydia (Jamie) Newsome, Evans and Janis (Al) Clark of Thomson; one sister, Elise Little, Augusta. Additional survivors include grandchildren, Heather Sweatman, Kevin Sweatman, Brian Jones, Bryson Jones, Seth Newsome, Jana Newsome and Hank Hall.
Pallbearers were grandsons and Tyler Holley and Jonathan Holley.

Mrs. Thelma M. Hollis
THOMSON, Ga.- Mrs. Thelma M. Hollis, age 82, of Thomson, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at the Thomson Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness.
She was a native of Coffee County but, had lived in Thomson since 1973. Thelma was the daughter of the late Leonard C. Music and Belle Johnson Music and was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Hollis; a daughter, Latrelle White; three brothers Elmer, Felton and L.C. Music and two sisters, CeElla Mitchell and Inez Cain. She was of the Church of God Faith.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Hollis and wife, Rosie, of Thomson and Brad Barber and wife, Melissa of Atlanta; three daughters, Shirley Jenkins, Debbie Neal and husband, Keith and Donna Brabham, all of Thomson. Nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.
Funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Denny Music and Rev. Randy Dunaway officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were B.J. Hollis, Jason Neal, Shane Jenkins, Brian Brabham, Jeffrey Brabham, Tyler Key, Jerry Music, and Keith Neal. All those in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Mrs. Bernice Rogers
HARLEM, Ga. -- Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Rogers, 73, of West Forest St., were held on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 3 p.m. at the Piney Grove Baptist Church, Dearing, with Rev. Mark Downs officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors are husband, Willie B. Rogers, Thomson; six children, Annie (Marvin) Lee, Harlem, Mary Magum, Grovetown, Johnny (Londa) Rogers, Dearing, Annie Mae (Clinton) Jones, Grovetown, David (Hattie) Rogers, Augusta and Willie (Josephine) Rogers, Augusta; four stepdaughters, Lillie Rasmay and Ella Jones, Harlem, Cora Bell, Loganville, Ga., Juanita Douglas, Augusta; stepson, Lonnie Lyons, Philadelphia; five sisters, Verna Embry, Rosa Combs, Carrie Grissom (Garnsy), Annie (John ) Allen, Ohio and Elsie Carter, Thomson; 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Nannette Boyd McBurney Rennison
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Nannette Boyd McBurney Rennison, 72, entered into rest on Friday, March 16, 2007, at the Medical College of Georgia, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Rennison was born in Thomson to the late Dykins McBurney, Sr., and Nina James McBurney. She was a life-long resident of Augusta. Mrs. Rennison was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had been a member of the Barton Chapel United Methodist Church for more than 65 years and served as Vacation Bible School Coordinator and Sunday School Teacher. One of her greatest joys in life was raising her family and caring for them in every way. Mrs. Rennison was also a self-taught artist who enjoyed drawing and painting.
Survivors include a loving and devoted husband, Mr. Thomas H. Rennison, Sr.; son, Thomas H. Rennison Jr. (Kay Rhodes); daughters, Karen Shonkwiler (Terry), Lynn Rennison; and Venetia Teston (Doug), one brother, Dykins McBurney, Jr. (Elizabeth); nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Nannette Rennison.
Memorials may be made to Barton Chapel UMC, in memory of Nannette Rennison, 3414 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906.
Pallbearers were Brian Berry, Jesse Ivey, Ryan Fricks, Josh Dorminy, Louie Gunn, and Jeff Robinson.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 19, 2007, at 3:30 p.m in the Chance and Hydrick Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta. Internment was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas Sturdivant, Jr.
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Thomas Sturdivant, Jr. of Augusta, entered into rest March 9, 2006.
Survivors include, father, Thomas Sturdivant, Sr., Augusta; brother, Frankie Everett Sturdivant, Rock Hill, S.C.; sisters, Susan Bafford, Evans, Jerri Cobranchi, Augusta, and Stephanie Sparks, Lincolnton. He was preceded in death by his mother Jane Miller Sturdivant.
Mr. Sturdivant was born in Wilkes County but grew up in Warrenton, and graduated from Warren County High School in 1980. He was a refrigeration technician and a member of Bible Fellowship Church in Grovetown.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Byrd. Interment followed in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Larry Chapman, Tony Bafford, Christian Winkler, Greg Cobranchi Chris Poteet, Wayne Ghann .

THOMSON, Ga.- Funeral service for Mr. Roosevelt Wilson of Matthews Street, Thomson, were held Monday, March 8, 2004, at 2 p.m., at the Mount Aldred C.M.E. Church, Warren County. Rev. George Glenn, Pastor, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors are four children, Melvin Wilson, Wrens, Maryann Wilson, Wrens, Stanford Wilson, Thomson and Sheila Wilson, Thomson; five sisters, Regina McNair, Ruthnette McNair, both of Dearing, Catherine Lane, Thomson, Jennie Brown, Camak, Betty Crawford, Thomson; two brother, George McNair Jr., Thomson and Eddie Hubert Wilson of North Carolina; grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Jeanette H. Neal
THOMSON, Ga.- Funeral services for Mrs. Jeanette H. Neal, 59, of Mt. Pleasant Rd., Thomson, who died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004 were held on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Thankful Baptist Church, Glascock County. Rev. Elder Nathaniel Wilson was the eulogist. Interment was in the churchyard cemetery.
Mrs. Neal was a Glascock County native and a member of the New Life in Christ.
Survivors are her devoted husband, Deacon Joseph Neal, Sr., Thomson; one son, Joseph Neal, Jr. of Bronx, N.Y.; two daughters, Pingular Neal of Gastonia, N.C. and Kim Neal of Thomson; four sisters, Patricia Stokes, Eva Jean Harris Kitchens and Clara Bradshaw all of Thomson, Janice Walker of New Jersey; three brothers, James Harris of Thomson, Wyman Harris and Lonzie Harris both of Gibson; six grandchildren, a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; three aunts; one uncle; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Mr. Harold Leon Segers
THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. Harold Leon Segers, age 81, beloved husband of Katherine Adams Segers of Washington Road, Thomson, died Saturday, March 13, 2004, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004 in the Thomson First Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. Burial was in the family plot at Fort Creek Baptist Church cemetery in Dearing.
Pallbearers were Donald Segers, Tommy Segers, Hugh Echols, Jim Athanaelos, Buddy Haddon and Russell Gilliam. Honorary Pallbearers were Kenneth Usry, Lemuel Brooks, Buddy Darden, Dr. David Ruehle, Greg Harden, Marion Culpepper, Jr., Beeman Barnet, Jimmy Poston, Dennis Sanders, Otis Harrison, Ed Blanco, Roy Yelton, Billy Green, Don Reese, Chip Atkins, Hudson Hopkins, Rusty Lovelace and members of Thomson First Baptist Church Men's Bible Class.
Mr. Segers was a native of Banks County, Georgia, but had lived in Thomson for more than 53 years. He served in the Army Infantry in WWII and landed in France in 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge in Berzbuar, Germany and single-handedly cleared a minefield using just his bayonet as a mine detector while exposed to constant enemy fire. For his bravery he was honored with the bronze star. He retired after 30 years of service at the Dupont Company at the Savannah River Plant.
He built and operated the first self-service car washes in McDuffie County. He was a charter member of the Thomson Exchange Club, helping the club with their annual horse show. He served on the board of the Ten-Sixties, the forerunner of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Segers was an active member of the Thomson Field Archers, the Thomson Boat Club, and the Shade Tree A's, a Model A classic car club. He was a longtime member of the Thomson First Baptist Church where he served on the Grounds Committee and was a member of the Men's Bible Class.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Katherine Adams Segers; his daughter and son-in-law, Kay & Bob Manning, all of Thomson; a sister, Martha Segers Chastain of Ellijay, Ga.; brothers, Col. Frank Segers, USAF Ret. of Birmingham, Ala. and Duard Segers of Naples, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Thomson, 253 Jackson Street, Thomson, Ga. 30824 or to the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, 1101 15th Street, Augusta, Ga. 30901 in memory of Mr. Segers.

Miss Lauren Fellers
THOMSON, Ga. - Miss Lauren Fellers, 31, beloved daughter of Dick and Kay Fellers died Thursday, March 15, 2007, in the Medical College of Georgia. Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007, in the Pineview Memorial Park in North Augusta, with Dr. James Ramsey and Dr. Leonard Dupree officiating.
Miss Fellers lived in North Augusta, S.C., but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was a member of Thomson First Baptist Church.
Lauren was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walden Dixon, and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Clennice Usry Fellers.
She is survived by her parents, Richard "Dick" H. and Kay Dixon Fellers of Thomson; her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Bo Brownlow of Kennesaw, Paternal grandfather, E.E. "Bo" Fellers Jr., of Gainesville.

GIBSON, Ga. - Mrs. Katie Wells Overstreet, 82, entered into rest Sunday, March 12, 2006, at the Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center, Gibson.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Fellowship Baptist Church cemetery with Layman Lewis Wells officiating.
Mrs. Katie was a native of Glascock County and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Willie E. Overstreet of Thomson; three daughters, Mary Ann Trotter of Augusta, Bonnie L. Morris of Beech Island, S.C., and Betty Ruth; three brothers, John Willie Wells of Alma, George Wells of Baker, La., and Lewis Wells of Gibson; three sisters, Mary Usry of Gibson, Florrie Arrington and Twin Falls, Idaho, and Rendia Kent of Collinsville, Okla.; and three grandchildren.

DEARING, Ga.- Mr. George Anderson, 93, widower of Mrs. Bessie Anderson, of Fort Creek Church Road, died Sunday, April 25, 2004, in Doctors Hospital.
Funeral services were held April 27, 2004, in the Fort Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Phillip Bray and Rev. Boyd Reeves officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was a native of McDuffie County. He was a retired farmer and had retired from construction. He was a member of Fort Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Anderson and his son, Wayne Anderson.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra West, Dearing; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
