Jerry Ford, 50

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Mr. Jerry Ford, 50, will be held Wednesday, May 28, at 2 p.m. at Swainsboro City Auditorium. The Rev. James Love will officiate with the Rev. Stanley Moore and the Rev. David Reddick assisting. Burial will follow services in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
He died Thursday, May 22, from injuries resulting from an automobile accident.
Mr. Ford was a native of Emanuel County where he attended the public schools and was a 1971 graduate of Swainsboro High School. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church in Oak Park, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, was employed with Johnson County State Prison for 13 years and a deputy with Emanuel County Sheriff's Department for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gwendolyn Baldwin Ford of Swainsboro; four daughters, Precious S. Franklin, Mrs. Misha Smith, Ms. Charlotte Ford, all of Swainsboro, and Mrs. Adrienne Clark of Jacksonville, N.C.; two sons, Mr. Jerry Jemeka Ford and Mr. Charles Ford of Swainsboro; his mother, Mrs. Shirley Ford of Swainsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Coleman and Mrs. Wylodene Turner of Swainsboro; one brother, Mr. Artis Ford of Swainsboro; four grandchildren; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Reno Tapley Mortuary has charge of arrangements.

Richard Arden Gay, 55

TWIN CITY--Graveside services for Richard Arden Gay, 55, were held Saturday, May 24, at 10 a.m. from El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Phil Wilson officiated.
He died Wednesday, May 21, after a brief illness.
Mr. Gay was a native of Knoxville, Tenn. He was the son of the late Paul M. and Helen R. Gay
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Gay of Savannah; a son, Maurice Allen Gay of Vidalia; two sisters, Patricia Collins Jozefyk and Paul Gay Boaen, both of Twin City.
Peebles-Curry-Durden had charge of arrangements.

David C. 'Junior' Glisson, 64

KITE--Funeral service for David C. "Junior" Glisson, 64, was held Wednesday, May 21, at 3 p.m. at Kite Church of God. The Rev. Allen Meeks officiated. Burial was in Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
He died Monday, May 19, at Emanuel Medical Center.
Mr. Glisson was born July 3, 1938 in Johnson County the son of the late D.C. and Lottie Fae Townsend Glisson, Sr. He had resided here most of his life, was a truck driver and a member of Kite Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gena Claxton Glisson of Kite; two sons, Lynn Johnson and Keith Johnson, both of Swainsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Jo Buxton of Kite; a sister, Mrs. Judy Beasley of Kite; three grandchildren; a niece and other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Paul Williams, Joey Claxton, Michael Johnson, Billy J. Taylor, James Glisson and J.C. Buxton.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Swainsboro had charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mary Lucite Wilkerson, 71

SWAINSBORO--Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Lucille Wilkerson, 71 was held Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary with the Rev. Morris Brantley and the Rev. Earl Warnock officiating. Burial was in Eastbrook cemetery in Swainsboro.
She died Tuesday, May 20, in Doctors Hospital in Augusta, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Wilkerson was a native of Johnson County, retired from Argo Mills and was a member of Swainsboro Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jake D. Wilkerson of Swainsboro; five daughters, Carolyn Odom, Patricia Mason and Jackie King, all of Swainsboro, Norma Roberson of LIzella, and Shirley Henry of Lothair; three sons, Danny Wilkerson of Twin city, Donnie Wilkerson and Johnny Wilkerson of Swainsboro; one sister, Louise Stapleton of Kite; three brothers, Eddie Hall of Swainsboro, T.J. Hall of Macon and Elmer Hall of Kite; 27 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Joshua Wilkerson, Jamie Roberson, Jason Kohler, Michael Slater, Chris Wilkerson, Adam Hadden and Gene Hadden.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Willie Loree Brantley, 72

SWAINSBORO--Funeral service for Willie Loree Brantley, 72, was held Friday, May 23, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary. The Rev. Morris Brantley and the Rev. Herman Walden officiated. Burial was in the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church cemetery near Kite.
Mrs. Brantley died Wednesday, May 21, in Emanuel Medical Center after an extended illness.
She was a native of Emanuel County, a homemaker and a member of Holton Chapel Advent Christian Church. She was the wife of the late Melvin L. Brantley.
Survivors include three sisters, Shirley Ely of Dellwood, Wonnie Hutto of Neeses, S.C., and Itoni Blalock of Monks Corner, S.C.; two brothers, Franklin Glisson of Swainsboro and Tommy Glisson of Augusta.
Pallbearers were Larry Brantley, David Brantley, Johnny Way, Ricky Way, Glenn Way and Dustin Brantley.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Cornell Daniels Sr.

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Cornell Daniels Sr. will be held Thursday, May 29, 2003, at 11 a.m. at St. Phillip Baptist Church with the Rev. James Love officiating. Burial will be at Swainsboro City Cemetery.
He died Monday, May 26, 2003, at Medical College of Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Daniels; three sons, Carl E. Daniels, Samuel E. Daniels and Cornell Daniels Jr.; one daughter, Mary L. Malone; two stepsons, Timothy Tann and Edward Thomas; two stepdaughters, Christine Fluellen and Linda J. Smart; two brothers, Henry Clay Daniels and Furman Daniels; 12 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Esko "Bud" Ellison Jr., 59

MILLEN--Funeral for Esko "Bud" Ellison Jr., 59, will be held Thursday, May 29, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial will be at Hebron Primitive Baptist Church of Garfield.
He died Monday, May 26, 2003, at North East Georgia Hospital of Gainesville.
A native of Emanuel County, Mr. Ellison was son of the late Esko and Louise Cowart Ellison. He was a retired farmer and member of El Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Ellison; one son, Ben Ellison of Millen; one daughter, Janis Ellison of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, David Ellison of Garfield and Eugene Ellison of Meldrim; and one grandson.
Pallbearers are nephews, Chris Ellison, Mark Ellison, Keith Woods, Johnny Monroe, Stan Layne and Michael Layne.
Honorary pallbearers are Gary Herman, Donnie Burke, Cecil Proctor, Jack Newton, Arlis Womack, Michael Parrish and Hugh Hullette.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Clayton Logue, 66

MACON--Funeral for Clayton Logue, 66, will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Chapel with Elder Mike Gray officiating. Burial will be at Swainsboro City Cemetery.
He died Monday, May 26, 2003, at his residence after an extended illness.
A native of Johnson County, Mr. Logue was son of the late Henry and Marie Bailey Logue and he was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Lamb Logue of Macon; one daughter, Lydia Rowland of Midville; two sons, Stephen M. Logue of Swainsboro and Timothy N. Logue of Macon; two sisters, Agnes Harrison and Kathryn Harrison, both of Kite; three brothers, Dupree Charles Logue of Macon, Emory Logue and Lamar Logue, both of Wrightsville; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Harrison, Guy Harrison, Terry Harrison, Jim Harrison, William Harrison and Tommy Logue.
Honorary pallbearers are Chaz Logue and Clay Rowland.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary has charge of arrangements.

Myrtice Gertrude Bedingfield, 90

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Myrtice Gertrude Bedingfield, 90, was held Monday, May 26, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Randall Ray and the Rev. Jack McCullough officiating. Burial was at Swainsboro City Cemetery.
She died Saturday, May, 24, 2003, at Swainsboro Nursing Home after an extended illness.
A native of Jefferson County, Miss Bedingfield was the daughter of the late John S. and Lena Kirkland Bedingfield. She was retired from Dolores and Woody's, was a Methodist and attended Calvary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one niece, Ohma Waters of Snellville; and four nephews, Don Bedingfield of Texas City, Texas, Wade Bedingfield of Swainsboro, Johnny Bedingfield of Guyton and Jerry Bedingfield of Louisville.
Pallbearers were Hugh Johnson, Rusty Kea, Trinton Hooks, Denny Key, Roger Peebles and Richard Reddish.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brunell Goodwin Johnson, 85

Graveside services for Mrs. Brunell Goodwin Johnson, 85, will be Wednesday, May 28, at 11 a.m. at Screven County Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Jamie Archer and the Rev. Carter Berkley will officiate.
She died Sunday, May 25, at Screven County Hospital.
Mrs. Johnson was a Jefferson County native and was a member of Buck Creek United Methodist Church and a retired seamstress from White Stag Manufacturing Company.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce J. Ready of Augusta, and Louise J. Bevill of Swainsboro; two sons, Steve Johnson of Sylvania and Benjamin O. Johnson of Augusta; two sisters, Eddie C. Faircloth of Augusta, and Mary G. Johnson of Graniteville, SC.; two brothers, Roy Goodwin of Brooksville, Fla., and John Goodwin of Bogart; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Thompson Strickland Waters Funeral has charge of arrangements.
