Andrew F. Maulden Jr.

LUDOWICI -- Andrew Frasier Maulden Jr., 77, died Aug. 13 at Vencor Hospital in Atlanta.

He was born in Long County, was a former resident of Savannah and lived in Ludowici since 1989. He was a former employee of Tri-State Tractor Co. of Savannah and a member of Walthourville Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Theresa M. Tyson of Sardis; two sons, Royce Andrew Maulden and Cliff Ben Maulden, both of Ludowici; five sisters, Alberta Davis of Ludowici, Opal Ryals and Audrey Denison, both of Jesup, Lois Bailey of Guyton and Ernestine Johns of Pembroke; two brothers, Ernest Maulden and Willie Maulden, both of Ludowici; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Gordon-Harrison Funeral Home, Jesup.

FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gordon-Harrison Funeral Home, burial in Concord Cemetery, Ludowici, Long County.

Roger L. Minton IIKINGSLAND -- Roger Lee Minton II, 29, died Aug. 12 at home.

He was born in Bristol, Tenn., and was a resident of Groton, Conn., before moving to Camden County four years ago. He was a Navy veteran, retiring two months ago, and was a Navy Submarine Radioman. He was a member of the Navy Honor Guard Funeral Detail at Kings Bay.

He worked with the Camden County Recreational Department as a baseball referee and was a soccer coach with Kings Bay Youth Association. He was a substitute teacher and volunteer with the Career Seminars in Camden schools and a volunteer with Special Olympics.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Lisa Thomas Minton of Kingsland; two daughters, Alyssa Minton and Kendall Minton, both of Kingsland; his parents, Roger and Jettye Minton of Abingdon, Va.; a brother, Ricky Minton of St. Marys; and his paternal grandmother, Hazel Minton of Abingdon.

FUNERAL: 1 p.m. today at Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay Chapel, burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Doris B. Mitchell

Mrs. Doris Burnside Mitchell, 72, died Aug. 12 at Candler Hospital.

She was born in Miami, lived most of her life in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Savannah in 1993. She was educated in the public schools of Dade County, Fla., and graduated from Dorsey High School in Miami.

She was a nurse's aide at Waldburg Nursing Home in New York. She was a former member of Baptist Temple Church in New York and a member of Bryan Neck Baptist Church in Richmond Hill.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Esau Mitchell of Savannah; a daughter, Patricia Sconion of Edgewood, Md.; two sons, Alfred E. Mitchell and Vincent E. Mitchell, both of Brooklyn; four sisters, Naomi Culmer, Mary Postimes and Catherine Odom, all of Miami, and Marie Frazier of Brooklyn; a son-in-law, Leon Sconion of Edgewood; four grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

SERVICE: 11 a.m. Saturday at Bryan Neck Baptist Church, burial in the church cemetery.

Frederick J. Rawstrom Jr.

Frederick J. Rawstrom, Jr., 61, died Aug. 14.

He was born in Savannah, lived in South Carolina for many years and attended Bluffton High School. He served six years in the Coast Guard and was a member of the First Families of South Carolina.

He was a registered professional civil engineer in Georgia and Florida and owner of Technical Services Engineers Group. He was a former employee of Thomas & Hutton Engineering, Saussy Engineering and Dowdy Engineering. He was a member of the Republican Party and the National Rifle Association.

SURVIVORS: two sons, Joseph M. Rawstrom of Okatie, S.C., and William B. Rawstrom of Savannah; a brother, Eric Rawstrom of Okatie; and two nieces, Kelly Sedgwick and Angel Griffin, both of Okatie.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, Drayton Chapel.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Rawstrom Family cemetery in Beaufort County, S.C.

Ingram D. Walls

VARNVILLE, S.C. -- Ingram Douglas Walls, 67, died Aug. 13 at Roper Hospital in Charleston.

The native of Hardeeville was an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed with Westinghouse in Hampton in the copper-clad division and retired after 35 years. He was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church and an avid fisherman and shrimper.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Dorothy Peeples Walls of Varnville; a son, Roy W. Walls of Summerville; a daughter, Susan W. Thomas of Hampton; three brothers, Charles R. Walls of Varnville, Henry Walls Jr. of Port Royal and Richard Walls of Lady's Island; a sister, Alma Jarrell of Hampton; a grandson, Colby D. Thomas of Hampton; two stepgrandchildren, Chrystal and David Scott, both of Summerville; and other relatives.

FUNERAL: 4 p.m. today at Sand Hill Baptist Church, burial in the Peeples Cemetery.

Joseph E. Wilson

MACCLENNY, Fla. -- Joseph Eugene Wilson, 83, died Aug. 13 at Baptist Village in Waycross, Ga.

He was born in Ware County, Ga., and lived in Baxley, Ga., for more than 40 years. He lived in Macclenny since 1992, moving from Jacksonville. He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy of Baxley and attended First Baptist Church of Macclenny. He was a retired contractor.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Lottie Douberly Wilson of Macclenny; two daughters, Daisy Wilson of Orlando and Linda Chavis of Waycross; two sons, Martin E. Wilson of Doylesburg, Pa., and Joedy Wilson of Baxley; two stepdaughters, Celia Winkelman of Jacksonville and Geareleen Jones of Orlando; a stepson, Lyndal Douberly of Spring City, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Swain Funeral Home, Baxley.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swain Funeral Home, burial in Omega Cemetery.

Edwin Randall

Edwin Randall, 95, died May 9 at Savannah Square Health Center.

He was born in the Catskill Mountains of New York and was the widower of Dorothea G. Randall. He was plant manager of Einson & Freeman Printing Plant and a Mason.

SURVIVORS: a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Ellie Randall of Savannah; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane Elizabeth and Bruce Cromartie of Marlborough, Mass.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 4:30 p.m. today at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel.

Pauline Roberson

JESUP -- Pauline Roberson, 78, died May 10 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Appling County, a former resident of Brunswick and lived in Wayne County the past 25 years. She was the widow of Edgar O. Roberson.

SURVIVORS: two sisters, Wilma Griffis of Jesup and Vernell Dixon of Canyon Lake, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Rinehart & Sons Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Rinehart & Sons Funeral Home, burial in Old Bethel Cemetery.

Willie Mae R. Spears

ALMA -- Willie Mae Music Rewis Spears, 73, died May 10 at Bacon County Hospital.

She lived in Hazlehurst the past nine years. She was the widow of Glenberry Rewis and Charles Spears. She was a member of Emanuel Holiness Church in Uvalda.

SURVIVORS: two sons, Jimmy Glendon Rewis of Baxley and James Timmy Rewis of Hazlehurst; three daughters, Glenda Faye Rewis Brown, Mary Louise Rewis Bohannan and Tammy Jo Rewis Toler, all of Hazlehurst; a brother, Ed Music of Live Oak, Fla.; four sisters, Lois Thompson and Ruth Paul, both of Wadley, Clydie Mae Taylor and Shirley Clements, both of Alma; 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Crosby Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: 4 p.m. Friday at Crosby Funeral Home, burial in Wolfpit Cemetery.

Clara T. Switz

Clara Tillinger Switz, 96, died May 9 at Tara at Thunderbolt.

She was a native of Savannah's Old Fort section and lived in Savannah all of her life. She was a well-known sales clerk on Broughton Street, having worked at Adler's, Fine's and Lady Jane.

SURVIVORS: a son, Joe Switz of Savannah; two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.
