JESUP -- Lillie Mae Pauldo, 84, died Nov. 14 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Appling County and lived in Wayne County most of her life. She was a member of Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Donna Moore of Atlanta; a son, Ricky Pauldo of Jesup; a God-sister, Lillie B. Spellman of Jesup; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. Nov. 17 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel in Jesup.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. today at Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church, burial in Jesup City Cemetery.

Herman Poole

LYONS -- Herman Poole, 80, died Nov. 17 at Toombs Nursing Home.

He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and attended Mount Zion Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: a sister, Grace Wrenn of Vidalia; and three nephews, Stephen Wrenn and Edmond Wrenn Jr. of Vidalia and Kenneth Wrenn of Waycross.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2 p.m. today in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Carrie B. Reddish

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. -- Carrie Bell Baxter Reddish, 89, died Nov. 17 at the residence of a daughter in Hardeeville.

She was a McIntosh County native and former resident of Jesup. She had lived in Hardeeville for the past 26 years. She was a member of the Jesup First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her former husband, W.M. Tince Reddish.

SURVIVORS: three daughters, Patricia Boyd of Orlando, Fla., June Hutcheson of Cummings and Ginger Bryan of Hardeeville; three sons, Jack Reddish of Pomona Park, Fla., Gilbert Reddish of Hardeeville and Donald Reddish of Orlando; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 5-6 p.m. today at the Gordon-Harrison Funeral Home of Jesup.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 3 p.m. Sunday at the Gordon-Harrison Funeral Home Chapel, burial in the Pinecrest Memorial cemetery in Jesup.

Carl H. Reed

SHARPS SPUR -- Carl H. Reed, 60, died Nov. 9 in Botten Bach, Germany.

He was a native of Coeburn, Virginia and had resided in Montgomery County for several years. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was residing in Germany. He was a member of the New Corinth Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Helen DeBitter Reed of Botten Bach; a daughter, Claudia Bettina Scherer of Botten Bach; his stepfather, John H. Galbreath of the Sharps Spur community; three sisters, Theresa Hernandez of the Sharps Spur community, Phyllis Hudging and Irene Baynes of Virginia and Debbie Andrews of North Carolina; one grandson, David Reed of Botten Bach.

VISITATION: 2:30 Sunday at the residence of Theresa Hernandez at 645 Old Sarge Lane, Ailey, GA 30410.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 2 p.m. Monday at the New Corinth Baptist Church, burial in the Galbreath Cemetery.

Sally B. Sanford

MILLEDGEVILLE -- Sally L. Balkwell Sanford, 63, died Nov. 17 at her home.

She was a native of San Francisco, Calif., but had made her home in Linton and Milledgeville since 1969. She was the former owner/operator of the Home Folks Restaurant in Louisville and was a nurse at the Old Capital Inn Nursing Home in Louisville. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Davisboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted. E. Sanford.

SURVIVORS: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Letah S. and Justin Lavender of Gordon, Lorraine S. and Tony Poole of Marietta and Jan L. Sanford of Sandersville; eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-7:30 p.m. today at Moores Funeral Home in Milledgeville.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 2 p.m. Sunday in the Moores Funeral Home Chapel, burial to follow in the Friendship Baptist Church cemetery in Davisboro.

REMEMBRANCES: American Cancer Society.

Walter A. Shields

HORTENSE -- Walter Alexander Shields, 65, died Nov. 16 at Satilla Regional Medical.

He was a native of Tallahassee, Fla. and had lived in Hortense for the past year. He was an electrician in the construction business.

SURVIVORS: his sister, Barbara Sue Butts of St. Petersburg, Fla. and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Memorialization is by cremation.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: will be held at a later date in Fla.

Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home.

Darletha Walker

BRUNSWICK -- Darletha Walker, 67, died Nov. 13 at Gracemore Nursing and Rehab.

She was born in Glynn County and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a retired housekeeper.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Willie Walker Sr. of Brunswick; three sons, Willie Walker Jr., Gregory Walker and Jonathan Gibbons; two daughters, Sherry W. Nelson and Debra Trimmings of Brunswick; her mother, Eliza Stevens of Brunswick; eight grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Benjamin F. West Jr.

FLINT, MICH. -- Benjamin Franklin West Jr., 59, died Nov. 15 in Flint.

He was born in Bellinger Hill, S.C. and was a 1960 graduate of Tompkins High School and a 1962 graduate of Harris Area Trade School. He was an auto mechanic at General Motors for 34 years and a member of Central Baptist Church.

He was active in the desegregation movement in Savannah in the 1960s, participating in a sit-in at a lunch counter on Broughton Street.

SURVIVORS: three daughters, Watura West, Kamonya R. West and Melissa Keyes, all of Flint; five sons, Benjamin F. West III and Andre West of Savannah, P.A. West, Sayyid M. West and Terrance Powell of Flint; his father, Benjamin F. Sr.; two sisters, Inez West-Costin of Sicklerville, N.J. and Barbara West-Brown of Savannah; five brothers, Herbert Johnson of Savannah, Benjamin Reynolds of Hardeeville, S.C., Freddie West of Lithonia, Leroy West of Lenexa, Kan. and Anthony West of St. Louis, MO; ten grandchildren.

VISITATION: viewing after 4 p.m. Sunday at Michael & Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Savannah.

SERVICES: 2 p.m. Monday at Townsley Chapel A.M.E., burial at Cummingsville cemetery in Bellinger Hill, S.C.

Clementine D. Harrison

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Clementine Darsey Harrison, 75, died June 5 at Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.

She was born in Liberty County, Ga.

SURVIVORS: her husband, William H. Harrison of Baton Rouge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Patricia Harrison and Glen and Debra Harrison, all of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Eloise Patterson and Ethelda Lee, both of Hinesville, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Faye Darsey of Hinesville; two grandsons and two granddaughters.

FUNERAL: 10 a.m. today at Welch Funeral Home in Baton Rouge.

SURVIVORS: two brothers, Daniel and Melvin Heller, both of Metter; a sister, Susanna Heller of Metter; his maternal grandparents, Chester C. and Ester Weaver of Carlisle, Pa.; his paternal grandparents, Elwood S. and Gloria Heller of Annville, Pa.; and his great-grandfather, Samuel R. Weaver of Carlisle, Pa.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 9 a.m. Thursday in Metter Mennonite Cemetery.
