HINESVILLE - Mary Frances Beaver, 26, died Jan. 29 at Liberty Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Montgomery, Ala., and was a member of Faithful Temple C.O.D. Ministries .

SURVIVORS: a son, DeVonte Beaver; her parents, Willie Mae and Don Hartley of Hinesville; two sisters, Brenda Marie Hartley and Tammy Denise Byrd; a brother, Robert Lee Gray ; her grandmothers, Mary Lee McCoo and Mattie Pearl Hartley; a sister-in-law, Reanita Gray; and a host of nieces and nephews.

SERVICE: 2 p.m. Saturday at Faithful Temple C.O. D. Ministries, burial in Anderson Cemetery.

Beatrice D. Bing

PINELAND, S.C. - Beatrice Devore Bing, 90, died Jan. 29 at Pineview Nursing Home in Suitland, Md.

She was born in Pineland. She was a homemaker and a member of Gillison Branch Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: four daughters, Marjorie Cunningham of Suitland, Guerene Merita DeCosta of Fort Washington, Md., Carolyn Bing-Johnson of Marlton, N.J., and Jannie Harrell of Bowie, Md.; two sons, Jerome Bing of Washington and Moses Bing of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Theadie Mae White of Tillman; 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

VISITATION: 4-6 p.m. today at Bostick Funeral Home in Ridgeland, wake services from 6-8 p.m.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Saturday at Gillison Branch Baptist Church, burial in Gillison Branch cemetery in Pineland.

Florene H. Boland

HAMPTON, S.C. - Florene H. Boland, 83, died Feb. 1 in the Mattie C. Hall Care Center in Aiken.

She was born in Monetta in Aiken County, South Carolina. She had retired as a nurse with the Hayne and Young Clinic in Hampton after over 30 years of service. She was a member of the Hampton First Baptist Church where she had been active with the W.M.U. and was also a member of the Seed and Weed Garden Club.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Ernest Hugh Boland Jr. of Hampton; a brother, John C. Howard of Monetta; a niece, Nancy H. Frick of Irmo; a great-niece, Julie Frick and two great-nephews, John and Matthew Frick.

VISITATION: after 9 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, burial in the Hampton Cemetery.

Pennie H. Buchanan

HAZLEHURST - Pennie Holmes Buchanan, 92, died Jan. 30 at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Lumber City.

She was a member of St. Matthew Church in Hazlehurst.

SURVIVORS: two sisters, Willie Mae Bailey of St. Simons Island and Mirdis Ashley of Brunswick; a brother, Milton Holmes of Miami; four stepdaughters, Deloris Harper of Capital Height, Md., Melanie Ryals, Wilhelmina Dixon and Arlee Coley, all of Hazlehurst; two stepsons, James Buchanan of Virginia Beach, Va. and Thomas Buchanan of Lithonia; two daughters-in-law, three sons-in-law, a special niece, Olivia Rollins of Brunswick; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

WAKE: 6-7 p.m. today at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel.

FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew AME Church in the St. Matthews community, burial in St. Matthews Cemetery.

Lovett M. Corbett

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. - Mrs. Lovett Myers Corbett, 95, died Jan. 26 at Mount Laurel Nursing Home.

She was born and educated in McIntosh County, Ga. She lived in New York most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Cannan Baptist Church, New York City.

SURVIVOR: a nephew, Leon Rogers of Darien, Ga.; grandnephews, Walter Lorenzo Watts of Mount Laurel, Eugene Watts of New York, Anthony Philson and James Smith, both of Fort Myers, Fla., and Benjamin Rogers of Meridian, Ga.; grandnieces, Henrietta Dawson and Iona Anderson, both of Darien, Murial Jenkins of Meridian and Eliza Watts of Mount Laurel.

SERVICE: 3 p.m. Saturday at Darien Funeral Home in Darien, burial in Upper Mill Cemetery.

Mildred A. Courie

Mrs. Mildred Akins Courie, 91, died Jan. 31 at Chatham Nursing Home.

She was born in Bulloch County and was the widow of Michael S. Courie. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She had formerly operated a restaurant at the John Wesley Hotel, and then a restaurant at American Legion Post No. 135.

SURVIVORS: a brother, William R. Akins of Bluffton; two nieces, Mary Elizabeth Mosley of Savannah and Debbie Deforie of Greenville, S.C.; four nephews, William Danny Akins of Waycross, J. Terrell Courie Jr. of Roswell, Lem Akins of Greenville and Randy Akins of Savannah; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel.

ROSARY SERVICE: 7 p.m. today at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Jettie Cox

GLENNVILLE - Jettie Cox, 72, died Jan. 27 at home.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Sarah Cox of Glennville; three daughters, Louwanda Porter, Sandra McBride and Samantha Hall, all of Glennville; three sons, Ernest Lee Cox of Elizabeth, N.J., Jet Arthur Cox and Danny Lee Cox, both of Glennville; a brother, Charlie Cox of Glennville; three sisters, Annie B. Jones and Ida Pearl Winn, both of Glennville, and Beatrice Jones of Hinesville; two goddaughters, Cathy Auston and Yvonne Jackson; 23 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

FUNERAL: 2:30 p.m.. Saturday at Hagan Grace Deliverance Church in Hagan, burial in Green Cypress Baptist Church cemetery in Claxton.

Truong Nhu Ha

Truong Nhu Ha, 76, died Jan. 30 at Candler Hospital.

He was born in Canton, China, and lived in Savannah for the past 17 years. He was a retired businessman in Vietnam and was a member of Cat Tuong Buddhist Temple.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Cau Phung Tran of Savannah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven Cam Ha and Wuge Jessica Chu-Ha and Chris Cam Ha and Pham Cam Tu T; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laurie Ngoc Ha and Kenny Chow and Anh Ngoc Ha; a nephew, Sum Tran; and two grandchildren.

VISITATION: 9 a.m.4 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Victory Drive Chapel.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 3 p.m. Sunday in Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

Marion P. Hales Sr.

MELDRIM - Marion P. "Coot" Hales Sr., 73, died Feb. 1 at home.

He was born in Effingham County and was a retired electrician from Kemira. He was a member of Meldrim Baptist Church, a Mason and Deacon Emeritus.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Frances Hales of Savannah; four sons, Marion P. Hales Jr. of Meldrim, Dennis C. Hales of Bloomingdale, David A. Hales of Meldrim and Kenneth L. Hales of Springfield; a brother, Donald Hales of Meldrim; a caregiver, Lula McMillian; 10 grandchildren ; four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Saturday at Meldrim Baptist Church, burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Lucious Hendrix Jr.

STATESBORO - Lucious Hendrix Jr., 59, died Jan. 29 at Statesboro Nursing Home under hospice care.

He was a member of True Gospel Temple Inc.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Gracie Ann Hendrix of Statesboro; three daughters, Linda J. Tillman of Atlanta, Jeanette J. Taylor of Brooklet and Gracie Lee Hendrix of Clito; two sons, James Willie Raymond and Lucious Morell, both of Savannah; a brother, Izell Hendrix of Metter; three sisters, Mattie Lee Geiger of Brooklet, Emma Lee Alston and Mary Alice Williams, both of Statesboro; and a host of other relatives.

VISITATION: 8:15-9:15 p.m. today at James R. Barnes Mortuary.

FUNERAL: 1 p.m.. Saturday at Little Bethel Baptist Church, burial in Charlestown United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Maxine H. Horton

STATESBORO - Maxine Hayes Horton, 73, died Feb. 1 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

She was a Wilkes County, North Carolina native and had lived in Statesboro for many years. She received her B.A. degree from Wake Forest University, a master's in education from W.M.U. Training School in Louisville and Georgia Southern College. She taught at Metter Elementary School and Mattie Lively Elementary School, retiring in 1987. She accompanied her husband in his ministry, living in Reidsville, Acworth, Blakely, Metter, Statesboro and other cities in Georgia. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Statesboro, Fidelis Sunday School Class, W.M.U. of the First Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Choir.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Charles Dorsey Horton of Statesboro; a daughter, Mary Davenport of Lawrenceville; two sons, Charles Horton of Statesboro and John Horton of Simpsonville, S.C.; five sisters, Florence Riner of Elkins, N.C., Bernice Cunningham of Huntsville, Ala., Anna Hemric of Ronda, N.C., Carie Walker of Ronda and Agnes Mayes of Elkin, N.C.; three brothers, Paul Hayes of Winston Salem, N.C., Jessie Hayes of Ronda and Harold Hayes of Winston Salem; six grandchildren also survive.

VISITATION: 5-8 p.m. today at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, burial in Eastside Cemetery.

Margaret Ingman

Miss Margaret Ingman, 96, died Jan. 31 at Azalealand Convalescent Center.

She was born in Barnes, Kan., and moved to Atlanta in 1932 where she resided until 1987 when she moved to Savannah. She was a secretary at Burlington Industries in Atlanta for many years.

SURVIVORS: several cousins including Mrs. W.D. McMillan of Savannah.

PRIVATE GRAVESIDE SERVICE: will be held at a later date.
