Paul Eugene Baker, 65, died April 3 at Hospice Savannah.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio and lived in Savannah since 1982. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and was the custodian for the church.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Peggy Marion Baker of Savannah; a son, Samuel Baker of Savannah; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Keith Clark of Savannah; two brothers, Kenneth and Walter Baker, both of Savannah; two sisters, Barbara Swindler of Springfield and Sally Downing of Circleville, Ohio; a granddaughter, Kyla Clark of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2 p.m. Friday in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.

Sylvester Boston Sr.

CLYO -- Sylvester Boston Sr., 76, died April 2.

He was born in Clyo and attended Effingham County public schools. He was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Clyo, where he served as a deacon. He was a Marine veteran and worked as a heavy machinery operator.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Beulah A. Boston of Clyo; three sons, Sylvester M. Boston of Shawnee, Barnie Boston of Savannah and Benjamin F. Boston of Yulee, Fla.; two sisters, Naomi Hills of Savannah and Edna Shell of California; a brother, David Wilson of Savannah; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

VISITATION: 7-8 p.m. Friday at Smalls Funeral Home, Guyton.

FUNERAL: 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Association Center in Guyton, burial in Portal cemetery in Clyo.

Edna M. Bryant

Edna M. Bryant, 66, died April 3 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

She was born in Chatham County., and was a salad chef for The Pirate's House. She was a member of Carver Village Church of Christ and Liberty City Church of Christ, and was attending 50th Street Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Herbert Bryant Sr. of Savannah; sons, Bruce Bryant of Atlanta and Anthony Bryant of Savannah; daughters, Diane Bryant, Gloria J. Bryant, and Yvonne B. Bass, all of Savannah, Elizabeth Black of Bluffton, Carolyn B. Bryson of Columbus, and Shirley B. Owens of El Paso, Texas; sisters, Serita R. Johnson of Savannah and Gloria J. Volgezon of Maryland; brothers, Larry Anderson and Julius Johnson, both of Savannah, Eric, Robert and Kevin Johnson, all of Maryland, and Leon Johnson of Rincon; 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Clyde H. Crosby

Mrs. Clyde Hendrix Crosby, 93, died April 3 at Candler Hospital.

She was born in Bulloch County She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church, the Christian Women's Fellowship, the Peterson Builders Sunday School class, and the Jolly Hearts group. She had worked at Hunter Army Airfield.

SURVIVORS: a sister, Carrie Hendrix Clayton of Savannah; a brother-in-law, Sam D. Wachs of Montgomery, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews including, Edward O'Quinn, Jacqueline O'Quinn Savard, Sarah Crosby Wasner, Jean Hendrix and Gerald Hendrix, all of Savannah, James W. Clayton of Springfield and Scarlett C. Thayer of Bluffton.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, Mausoleum.

Claude L. Foster

ROSWELL -- Claude Lee Foster, 94, died April 3.

He was a former resident of Savannah and was a founding member of Silk Hope Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was the widower of Audrey L. Foster.

SURVIVORS: several nieces, nephews and cousins.

FUNERAL: 3 p.m. today at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, Roswell.

VISITATION: noon-1 p.m. Friday at Lake Primitive Baptist Church, Metter.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1 p.m. Friday in Lake Cemetery, Metter.

Beulah A. Gilliard

BAXLEY -- Beulah Adams Gilliard, 83, died April 3 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.

She was a native of Bacon County and had lived in Appling County most of her life. She was a member of Baxley Church of God of Prophecy.

SURVIVORS: three sons, Lonnie and Willie Adams, both of Baxley, and James Adams of Hazlehurst; two daughters, Jewel Hollar of Baxley and Thelma Poole of Lyons; three sisters, Lee Horton of Hazlehurst, Delores Edwards of Norfolk, Va., and Lily Gray of Alexander, Va.; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Swain Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at Swain Funeral Home, burial in Pine Level cemetery in Bacon County.

Inez Hall

STILLMORE -- Mrs. Inez Hall died March 30 at Pleasant View Health Care Center in Metter.

She was born and educated in Emanuel County. She was a member of Wesley Chapel AME Church, Stillmore, and served as church mother and Sunday School treasurer for many years. She was retired.

SURVIVORS: a son, Walter Walker of Stillmore; and a sister, Beatrice Byrd of Metter.

SERVICE: 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Stillmore, burial in Stillmore City Cemetery.

Louise T. Hall

WAYNESVILLE -- Mrs. Louise Todd Hall, 69, died April 4 at home.

She was a native of Pierce County and moved to Waynesville seven years ago. She was a homemaker and member of Palmetto Pentecostal Church .

SURVIVORS: her husband, James Hall of Waynesville; four daughters, Laverne Corbitt and Dale Prescott, both of Waycross, Lydia Daniels of Waynesville and Karen Gingras of Newark, Ohio; her mother, Louise Todd of Blackshear; three sisters, Catherine Thomas of Dublin, Hendra Tuberville of Blackshear and Mildred Brune of Atlanta; three brothers, Roy, Billy and Johnny Todd, all of Blackshear; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces, and nephews.

VISITATION: will begin at 3 p.m. today at the home of Laverne Corbitt, 4593 Mockingbird Lane, Waycross.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Saturday at Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home, burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

James S. Herrington Sr.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- James Seaborn Herrington Sr., 62, died April 2.

He was born in Millen and lived in Jacksonville for 43 years. He was the owner and operator of Arlington Fence Co. He was a Navy veteran and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: a son and daughter-in-law, James Herrington Jr. and Karmen Herrington; a brother, Larry Herrington; two sisters, Mrs. Walton Boone of Savannah and Ethel Bucheit of Atlanta; three grandchildren; and companion Yvonne Deavitt.

VISITATION: 5-8 p.m. today at Arlington Park Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Arlington Park Funeral Home, burial in Arlington Park Cemetery.

Josephine M. Hutcheson

SOPERTON -- Josephine "Josie" M. Hutcheson, 98, died April 4.

She was born in Laurens County and was a retired teacher. She was a member of Red Bluff Baptist Church in Treutlen County and the widow of Morris B. Hutcheson.

SURVIVORS: a step-daughter, Sarah McCleary of Soperton; a sister-in-law, Ann Joiner of Mount Vernon; a niece, Connie Partin of Lyons and two step-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Sammons Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Sammons Funeral Home, burial in Westview Cemetery, Soperton.

Marion B. King

MIDWAY -- Mrs. Marion B. King, 75, died April 3.

She was a native of Appling County and lived the past 55 years in Liberty County. She had worked for Horne's Restaurant in Riceboro and Day's Inn at Eulonia. She was a member of Midway First Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: a son, Kirk King of Midway; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Marion Hilliard of Midway, and Belinda and Royce Horton of Riceboro; a brother, Francis Wedincamp of Gum Branch; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Carter Funeral Home, Oglethorpe Chapel.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at Midway First Baptist Church, burial in Mount Oliver Methodist Church Cemetery.
