Mrs. Eunice J. Clayton, 76, died May 24 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was a native of Screven County and lived in Port Wentworth the past 45 years. She was member of Port Wentworth Alliance Church and the Adult One Sunday School Class.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Janell Clayton of Savannah; three sons, Ronnie Clayton of Richmond Hill and Troy and Danny Clayton, both of Port Wentworth; two sisters, Myrtle Jenkins of Newington and Gladys Dickey of Waynesboro; a brother, Willard Joyner of Charleston; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Fountain Funeral Home in Port Wentworth.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Saturday at Port Wentworth Alliance Church, burial in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.

Lester M. Cox

SANFORD, Fla. -- Lester McLoyd Cox, 56, died May 24 at Memorial Health University Medical Center from injuries in an auto accident.

He was born in Cross City and was a lifelong resident of Florida. He was a truck driver, an avid fisherman, a Baptist and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Laverne Costello Cox of Sanford; two sons, Tom Tews and Mac Cox, both of Sanford; two daughters, Danielle Caird of Lake Mary and Kelly Hardison of Geneva, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Sean Hardison of Geneva, Fla., Donnie and David Caird, both of Lake Mary, and Hanna Marie Cox of Sanford.

Funeral services will be private.

Cedrick Cummings

ARDOCH -- Cedrick Cummings, 16, died May 22 in Eulonia.

He was born in Glynn County. He was a student at McIntosh County Academy in Darien and a member of the football team and the student council. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Ardoch.

SURVIVORS: his parents, Willie Mae Cummings of Ardoch and George Cummings of Darien; a sister, Georgette Quarterman of Ardoch; two brothers, George C. Cummings of Ardoch and Altorrain Mention of Darien; and his grandparents, Mable Simmons of Cannon Bluff, Irvin Cummings Sr. of Ardoch and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Jackson of Cannon Bluff.

VISITATION: 7-8 p.m. today at Darien Funeral Home in Darien.

FUNERAL: 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church, burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Dorothy Dyal

WAYCROSS -- Dorothy Dyal, 65, died May 24 at Satilla Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Jeff Davis County and lived in Brantley County since 1966. She was the widow of Samuel W. Dyal. She was an inspector for Swisher International and a member of Waresboro Church of God.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Joyce Courson of Waycross; a son, Larry Dyal of Blackshear; eight sisters, Ruby Bell, Lois Crumpton, Jewell Roberts, Murrel Smith, Katha Hayes, Nettie Mae Overstreet and Margaret Foskey, all of Hazlehurst, and Lucille Simpson of Uvalda; a brother, Jr. Youmans of Hazlehurst; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

VISITATION: will begin at 6 p.m. today at Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Saturday at Satilla Regional Medical Center, burial in Satilla cemetery in Jeff Davis County.

Mary S. Gooding

Mary Smiley "Chic" Gooding, 69, died May 23 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born in Long County and lived most of her adult life in Savannah. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Temple, the Hannah Sunday School Class, J.B. Hataway Circle and the Calvary Craft Class.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Leland C. Gooding Sr. of Savannah; a son and daughter-in-law, Leland C. Gooding Jr. and Cathy W. Gooding of Peachtree City; her mother, Essie Smiley of Savannah; a brother, Richard D. Smiley of Savannah; sisters, Johnnie Morrow, Latrelle Smiley and Melva Brannen, all of Savannah, Kay Wright of Augusta and Shirley Mathis of Durham, N.C.; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. today at Calvary Baptist Temple, burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Egon Hill

HILTON HEAD ISLAND -- Egon Hill, 91, of Sun City, died May 23 at home.

He was born in Vienna, Austria, and moved to Hilton Head Island in 1999 from Naples, Fla. He retired as a government accountant and was active in civic and community affairs in Naples.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Meredith Walker Hill of Hilton Head Island; a son, James E. Hill North Potomac, Md.; a daughter, Virginia Moryadas of Greenbelt, Md.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Clara L. Hoback

ST. MARYS -- Clara Louise Hoback, 82, died May 24 at St. Marys Convalescent Center.

The Alabama native moved to Camden County four years ago from Aiken, S.C. She was a retired restaurant hostess and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: a son, Bill Champion of St. Marys; a daughter, Cleada Thomas of Aiken; three brothers, Ed, Carl and Gene Wright, all of Florence, Ala.; a sister, Mary Alice Nash of Roswell; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Saturday at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys.

George Hobbs

METTER -- George Hobbs, 66, died May 21 at Candler County Hospital.

He was born in Candler County and lived in Metter for 66 years. He was a farmer most of his life and worked 16 years for Growers Supply Inc. in Metter before retiring.

SURVIVORS: his mother, Ethel Hobbs of Metter; a sister, Ella R. Hobbs of Metter; a brother and sister-in-law, Coley and Tera Hobbs of Metter; and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Saturday at Lakeside First Baptist Church, Metter, burial in the church cemetery.

Willie Mae Johnson

Mrs. Willie Mae Johnson, 94, died May 23 at Candler Hospital.

She was born in Hampton, S.C., and lived in Savannah most of her life. She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Christine Jones of Savannah; five grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery.

Juanita T. Kirkland

MACON -- Juanita Tyler Kirkland, 68, died May 24 at a local hospital.

She was born in Metter and lived in Macon the past 29 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Lizella Baptist Church. She was a member of United Colostomy Macon Chapter.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Ned Kirkland of Macon; a son, Dale Kirkland of Macon; two daughters, Lisa K. Bell of Lizella and Atina K. Williams of Macon; two sisters, Martha Ellen Fordham of Metter and Mamie Roberts of Macon; two brothers, Delmas Tyler of Metter and James W. Tyler of Dublin; three grandchildren, Lindsey Bell, Melissa Bell and Jackson Lee Williams, all of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10 a.m. today in Lake cemetery in Metter.

William Medders

LYONS -- William "Albert" Medders, 72, died May 24 at Meadows Regional Medical Center of Vidalia.

He was a native of Bacon County and lived in Lyons the past 32 years. He was a retired truck driver and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Daisy Mae Jarriel Medders of Lyons; three sons, Johnny, Jack and Danny Medders, all of Lyons; three daughters, Joyce and Ann Medders, both of Lyons, and Tammy Medders of Rincon; four sisters, Ruby Taylor, Reba Sweat, Reggie Hutchison and Glenda Medders, all of Alma; two brothers, Frank and Tommy Medders, both of Alma; two stepdaughters, Glenda Odom of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Tammy Manuel of Vidalia; a stepson, Larry Monroe of Lyons; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. today at Jones-Stewart Funeral Home, Lyons Chapel, burial in Rose Hill cemetery in Alma.

Rubin K. Mikell

STATESBORO -- Rubin Kanteonn Mikell, 14 months, died May 21 at Bulloch Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Bulloch County.

SURVIVORS: his parents, Sherese Mikell of Statesboro and Pvt. Billy Brown of Alaska; a sister, Ce'Arra Wilkerson of Brooklet; his maternal grandparents, Patricia and Jimmy Mikell of Statesboro; his paternal grandparents, Cheryl and Billy Brown of Statesboro; his paternal great-grandparents, Cleo Brown and Billy Brown Sr. of Statesboro; his maternal great-great-great-grandmother, Ella Mikell of Statesboro; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

FUNERAL: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church, burial in the church cemetery.
