Bill B. Watson Jr., 75
DOTHAN, ALA. - Funeral for Bill B. Watson Jr., 75, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Dothan, Ala. with Rev. John Bryan and Rev. Robert Yawn officiating. Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery. He died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Mr. Watson was born and raised in Twin City and graduated from Emanuel County Institute and attended University of Georgia. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country during the Korean War. He was employed in sales with Bass and Company and retired from Dykes Industries in 1995. He was an active member of Cloverdale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Watson of Dothan, Ala.; a son and daughter - in - law, Charles B. and Jenny Watson of Mobile, Ala.; two daughters and sons - in - law, Debbie and Ted Bryant of Auburn, Ala.; Cathy and Sam Irvin of Dothan, Ala.; five grandchildren, Ted, W. Annon and Will Bryant, Emily and Adam Irvin; a brother, Phagin Watson and wife, Joyce, of Twin City; a sister, Lillian Schwalls of Swainsboro; two sisters - in - law, Barbara and Bernie Fitzsimmons and Patricia and Douglas Thompson, both of Eclectic, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Charles Watson, Ted Bryant, Sam Irvin, Ted. W. Bryant, Adam Irvin and Steve McClendon.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory of Mobile, Ala. had charge of arrangements.

Mary Helen Flanders Cook, 91
SMYRNA - Funeral for Mary Helen Flanders Cook, 91, was held Monday, Jan. 16, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Adrian United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Key officiating. Burial was in Poplar Springs Church cemetery in Adrian. She died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006.
Mrs. Cook was a native of Emanuel County and had lived most of her life in Adrian before moving to Smyrna five years ago. She was the daughter of the late Harmon C. and Bessie Ricks Flanders and was married to the late Alfred Thurman Cook. She was a member of Adrian United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son - in - law, Betty and Dan Strousberg of Smyrna; sisters, Martha Jo Martin of Adrian; and Elizabeth Hamrick of Ocala, Fla.; and grandchildren, Kelly Elizabeth Auxford of Smyrna; and Thomas Neil Garner of Marietta; and a greatgranddaughter, Brittany Anne Auxford of Smyrna.
Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton had charge of arrangements.

Earline Dudley Fennell, 88
AUGUSTA - Funeral for Earline Dudley Fennell, 88, was held Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Telfair Street Chapel with Rev. Guy Campbell officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died Saturday, . Jan. 14, 2006 at University Hospital.
Mrs. Fennell was a native of Stillmore and had made Augusta her home for most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Fennell Giddens and her husband, Vernon, of Augusta; Paula Fennell Grose and her husband, Tony, of Evans; six grandchildren, Tim, Jeff, Robert Giddens, Ashley Jennings, Anna Metcalf and Ben Grose; 12 greatgrandchildren and one great - great - granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Tim, Jeff, Robert Giddens, Ben Grose, Bryan Giddens and Fred Jennings Jr.
Elliott Sons Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of arrangements.

Onie Myrl Edenfield, 90
SWAINSBORO - Funeral for Onie Myrl Edenfield, 90, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of PeeblesCurry - Durden Mortuary with Rev. Jamie Archer and Rev. Tommy Veal officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery in Dellwood. She died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Edenfield was a native of Emanuel County, a homemaker and a member of Blundale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Edenfield; and son, Jimmy L. Edenfield.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara “Pug” Raffield of E. Dublin; and one daughter - in - law, Janie R. Edenfield of Savannah; six grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and one great - great - granddaughter.
Pallbearers are Richard Raffield, Randy Nix, Ron Gay, Jim E. Edenfield, George Edenfield and Billy Edenfield.

Thomas C. Byrd, 55
STILLMORE - Funeral for Thomas C. Byrd, 55, was held Sunday, Jan, 15, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at W.H. Whitaker Memorial Chapel at Whitaker Funeral Home in Metter. Burial was in New Life Baptist Church cemetery in Aline. He died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.
Mr. Byrd was from Stillmore and an Emanuel County native. He was the son of the late T.J. Byrd and Mary Liza Byrd. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Millen.
Survivors include a brother and sister - in - law, Thomas J. and Julie Nell Byrd of Stillmore; a sister and brother - in - law, Betty Jean and Johnny Gordon of Stillmore; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Whitaker Funeral Home of Metter had charge of arrangements.

Wiley Allen Coleman Jr., 71
CANOOCHEE - Funeral for Wiley Allen Coleman, Jr., 71, was held Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Canoochee Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Johnson and Rev. Marion Jay officiating. Burial was in Brinson Family Cemetery. He died Thursday, March 2, 2006 at The Doctors Hospital in Augusta after an extended illness.
Mr. Coleman was a native of Emanuel County, a farmer, a member of Canoochee Baptist Church and a volunteer with the Canoochee Volunteer Fire Department. He was a US Army veteran, where he served in the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bishop Coleman of Canoochee; one daughter, Kathy Lewis of Garfield; two sons, Inman Coleman of Millen; and Robert Coleman of Canoochee; one sister, Ann Elizabeth Riner or Grovetown; two brothers, Emmitt Louise Coleman of Harlem; and Eddie Coleman of Canoochee; and 11 grandchildren

Jerome Jerry Waller, 52
EASTMAN - Funeral for Jerome Jerry Waller, Jr., 52, was held Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Peebles - CurryDurden Mortuary with Rev. Jack Whitehead and Elder Howard Cox officiating. Burial was in Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church cemetery near Kite. He died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA after an extended illness.
Mr. Waller was a native of Washington County and tool and dye maker with Advanced Metal Components.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Moore Waller of Eastman; his parents, Lois and Jerome Waller, Sr. of Swainsboro; two stepdaughters, Davina Rutland of Macon; and Melanie Hughes of Eastman; one sister, Connie Waller Sconyers of Twin City; and three granddaughters.
Pallbearers were Phil Wilson, Lige Moore, Mike Stone, Jerry Kersey, Tim Moore, and Ryan Sconyers.

Chester Hughes Dean Jr., 71
TWIN CITY - Private memorial service for Chester Hughes Dean Jr., 71, will be held at a later date. He died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at his residence.
Mr. Dean was born in Malden, Mass. He lived in Rocklin, Calif., before moving to Emanuel County. He was a computer strategy - planner with IBM and a United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie T. Dean of Swainsboro; children, Chris and Pat Dean, Carol and Mike Wagner, Cheryl and Gary Stout, Cindy and Adrian Borja, Carla and John Smith, Corinne and Alan Lew, Colleen Dean, Chap and Carrie Dean; two brothers, Bill Dean and Roy Dean; three sisters, Lorraine Cassidy, Carol Pirkey and Priscilla Perry; 17 grandchildren and 12 great - grandchildren.
Tomlinson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Christine Moore Wright, 71
SWAINSBORO - Funeral for Christine Moore Wright, 71, was held Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Peebles - Curry - Durden Mortuary with Elder Tommy Rountree and Elder Herman Walden officiating. Burial was in Lamb cemetery near Swainsboro. She died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Emanuel Medical Center surrounded by her children.
Mrs. Wright was a native of Emanuel County and in 1951 moved to Augusta for 11 years where she was an operator with Southern Bell. After returning to Swainsboro, she was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wright.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Ann Wright of Swainsboro; three sons, Mark Anthony Wright of Collins; Keith Eric Wright of Swainsboro; and Joey Lane Wright of Metter; one brother, John B. Moore of Adrian; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnny Moore, Roger Moore, David Moore, Mack Moore, Greg Rabun, Rodney Rabun and Larry Rabun.

Mary Manley Kelley, 97
AUGUSTA - Funeral for Mary Manley Kelley, 97, was held Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Peebles - CurryDurden Mortuary with Father Tom Murphy officiating. Burial was in Hawhammock Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at the St Joseph Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Kelley was a native of Atlanta. She was a designer for Macy's Department Store in New York, N.Y. and Davison's Department Store in Atlanta. She was a tennis professional with Jekyll Island Tennis Club, an artist, and taught and lectured interior designing. She was Catholic and was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Dade Kelley.

Betty Coleman Stinson, 81
BLAIRSVILLE - Graveside service for Betty Coleman Stinson, 81, was held Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 4 p.m. at Swainsboro City cemetery with Rev. Bob Blankenship officiating. She died on Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Mrs. Stinson was a native of Emanuel County, was retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of Glenwood Hills Baptist Church in Macon. She and her husband moved from Macon to Blairsville three years ago. She was born on Sept. 11, 1924, to Lester Rufus Coleman and Florrie Bell Tyson Coleman of Swainsboro. Mrs. Stinson is survived by her husband of 60 years, Hilton C. Stinson of Blairsville.
Other survivors include three sons, Larry B. (Barbara) Stinson of Macon; Fred G. (Phyllis) Stinson of Blairsville; and Michael H. (Gaye) Stinson of Flowery Branch; one sister, June Malone of Savannah; six grandchildren, Randy (Ashleigh) Stinson of Cumming; Sherry (Robert) Anderson of Lake Mary, Fla.; Ashley P. Stinson of Macon; Robert Stinson of Denver, Col.; Camden Stinson and Kyle Stinson of Flowery Branch; three great - grandchildren, Kristen Ward of Lake Mary, Fla.; Courtney Stinson of Alto Loma, Calif.; and Jayden Stinson of Flowery Branch; several nieces and nephews.

John L. Hancock Sr., 76
SWAINSBORO - Funeral for John L. Hancock Sr., 76, was held Sunday, March 12, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Hawhammock Baptist Church with Rev. Cail Pressey and Rev. Ray Freeman officiating. Burial was on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Langley, S.C. He died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Medical College of Georgia.
Mr. Hancock, formerly of Graniteville, S.C, was born in Batesburg, S.C. but had lived in Swainsboro since 1966. He retired from Asplundh after 40 years of service. He was a truck driver for Emanuel County and a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Hancock of Swainsboro; two sons, John L. Hancock Jr. of McIntyre; and Grady Thomas Hancock of Ivey; 10 grandchildren and six great - grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Elmo Youngblood Sunday School Class and Emanuel County Maintenance Shop employees.
Tomlinson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
