Ann C. Humphrey Kaufman, 79
ST. SIMONS ISLAND - Graveside funeral service for Ann Christopher Humphrey Kaufman, 79, will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 at Swainsboro City cemetery at 4 p.m. with Rev. James C. Crandall officiating. A reception will follow at the Edenfield House on 426 W. Church Street in Swainsboro. The family will receive friends at the home of James E. Moore Jr., 504 W. Main Street Swainsboro on Friday, Jan. 27, 2006 from 6 - 8 p.m. She died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006 at her home.
Mrs. Kaufman was a native of Swainsboro and had made her home in Glynn County since 1976. She was a 1942 graduate of Swainsboro High School and a 1946 graduate of University of Georgia. She was a retired teacher with Emanuel County Board of Education. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of America and Magna Carta Dames. She was also a member of Phi Mu Sorority and Underwood Club in New York. An avid bridge player, she was a member of the Golden Isles Duplicate Bridge Club and was a Certified Life Master. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brunswick and Grace and Glory Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her son and daughter - in - law, James Elijah Moore Jr. and Jan Moore of Swainsboro; a daughter, Joann Eileen Moore of Jesup; a daughter and son - in - law, Chris M. Hodges and William C. Hodges Jr. of Millen; six grandchildren, James Elijah Moore III and Margo LeAnn Moore of Swainsboro; Cassie Ann Hodges Black and husband, Kyle, of Decatur; Whitney Belle Hodges and Victoria Lee Hodges of Millen; and Robert Humphrey Ryals of Jesup; and two nieces.
Pallbearers will be James Elijah Moore III and Robert Humphrey Ryals.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home of Brunswick have charge of arrangements.

Cleta Parker Drake, 94
SUMMERTOWN - Funeral for Cleta Parker Drake, 94, was held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Hawhammock Baptist Church with Rev. Cail Pressey and Rev. Louis Pearce officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Summer Willow Assisted Living in Nunez.
Mrs. Drake was a native of Emanuel County, retired from Argo Mills and a homemaker. She was the oldest living member at Hawhammock Baptist Church and a member of the Etta Brinson Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by husband, Julian Drake and son Ronnie Drake.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Drake Edenfield of Swainsboro; two sons, William “Billy” Drake of Summertown; and Gary L. Drake of Garfield; four grandchildren, Nicky Drake and Julie Moore of Summertown;, Jeff Drake of Swainsboro; and Leslie Frederick of Garfield; and two great - grandchildren.
Pallbearers were nephews. Honorary escorts were deacons of Hawhammock Baptist Church and members of the Etta Brinson Sunday School Class.

Lois Moye Garner, 84
SANDERSVILLE - Funeral for Lois Moye Garner, 84, was held Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Sandersville with Rev. Marlon Lastinger, Rev. Lee Lacey and Rev. Jimmy Harris officiating. She died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006 in Extended Care Facility in Sandersville after an extended illness.
Mrs. Garner was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was the daughter of the late Delmar Moye and Annie Nora Tanner Moye. She was a homemaker but had worked for Royal Manufacturing Company and was a salesperson for Hall’s Variety Store. She was a leader with the Girl Scouts of America for over 50 years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sandersville.
Survivors include her children, Delmar David Garner of Tallahassee, Fla.; Carroll Eugene Garner of Swainsboro; William Walton Garner and Betty Angela Garner of Sandersville; a sister, Nell Tanner Roughton of Sandersville; eight grandchildren, 12 great - grandchildren and two great - great - grandchildren.

W.B. Miller, 82
WADLEY - Funeral for W.B. Miller, 82, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Moxley Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Harrison and Rev. Charles Kyzer officiating. Burial will be in Moxley Cemetery. He died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006 at Jefferson Hospital in Louisville.
Mr. Miller was a native of Wadley and was a retired building contractor, merchant and farmer. He served the country in the 2nd Marine Division during World War II. He was a member, deacon, treasurer and adult Sunday school teacher of Moxley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Miller of Wadley; four sons, Bill (Donna) Miller and children, Ben, Beth (Adam) and Bob; Joe Miller and children, Randy (Andrea), Charlie and Kay; Craig (Teresa) Miller and children, Becky, Kristin and Mary Beth; Jeff (Christie) Miller and children, Keith, William and Luke; greatgrandchildren, Matt McNeely and Joe Miller III; a brother, Felton Miller; and a sister, Mary Helen Dukes.
Pallbearers will be Adam McNeely, Ben Miller, Randy Miller, Charlie Miller, Rob Miller, Keith Miller, William Miller and Luke Miller.
Smith Funeral Home of Wadley has charge of arrangements.

Lady Screws Scarboro, 67
SWAINSBORO - Funeral for Lady Screws Scarboro, 67, will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of PeeblesCurry - Durden Mortuary with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial will be in Bithynia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at St. Josephs Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.
Mrs. Scarboro was a native of Emanuel County, a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Joe Scarboro; sons Dean Edenfield and Timothy Edenfield; and parents, Ridge Screws and Rena Wallace Screws.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeannie Kirby and Leila Brown of Swainsboro; and Valerie Edenfield of Tyler, Texas; one son, Daniel Edenfield of Swainsboro; 16 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren
Pallbearers are Bruce Kirby, Ricky Hooks, Ray Cox, Bennie Cox, Timmy Cox and Tony Cox.

Thomas B. McDaniel, 84
ADRIAN - Funeral for Thomas B. McDaniel, 84, was held Sunday, Jan. 21, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton with Rev. Jim Nalls and Rev. Gerald Frazier officiating. Burial was in Northview cemetery in Dublin. He died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006.
Mr. McDaniel was born in Laurens County and had lived in Tifton for 41 years before moving to Adrian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Matthew and Ada Arvilla Wood McDaniel; and his wife, Lula Spell McDaniel. He served in the Air Force during World War II and was a retired plant supervisor for J.P. Stevens Co. in Tifton. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Tifton.
Survivors include a sister, Scharline Moore of Dublin; a brother, J.D. McDaniel of Lake Sinclair; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Randy Vaughn, Marc Reaves, Ford Cox, Robert Rowe, Milton Coglin and David Hartley.
Sammons Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Carrie Doll Phillips Way, 56
SWAINSBORO - Funeral for Carrie Doll Phillips Way, 56, was held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Bishop Nathan Clark officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006 after an extended illness.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Emanuel County on Aug. 14, 1949 to the late Ramsey A. and Mary Bell Phillips. She was a member of Phillips Chapel Church.
Survivors include her husband Willie Way; a son, Eric Lamont Phillips; two brothers, Willie Rufus Phillips of Swainsboro; and Sonny Gus Phillips of Trenton, N.J.; three sisters and a half - sister, Mary A. Young, Ruby D. Phillips, Merry K. Phillips of Lexington, S.C.; and Orie Mae Phillips of Jacksonville, Fla.
Pallbearers were friends of the family.

James Elwell Moore, 82
GUYTON - Funeral for James Elwell Moore, 82, was held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel. Burial was in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at Candler Hospital.
Mr. Moore was born in Emanuel County and had lived in Port Wentworth for 52 years prior to moving to Guyton. He retired from Stone Container and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Ashley Wheeles.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Jean Moore of Guyton; daughters and sons - in - law, Kelley and David Hood of Guyton; and Sue and Bert Wheeles of Brooklet; grandchildren, Ashley Hood, Carolyn Jean and Brian Fitzgerald and Jimmy Wheeles; six great - grandchildren; and a sister, Lynell Horton and several nieces and nephews.

Kamika Lachia Shivers, 27
SWAINSBORO - Funeral for Kamika Lachia Shivers, 27, was held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor George Lee presiding. She died Saturday, Jan, 7, 2006.
Ms. Shivers was born March 4, 1978 in Emanuel County. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Shivers and Ola Mae Shivers.
Survivors include her fiancé, Ricky Carswell; three daughters, Zykeria Benjamin, Janice Shivers and Rykia Carswell, all of Augusta; a stepfather, Johnny E. Phillips of Augusta; four sisters, Debra Coleman of Adrian; Sharon Shivers and Dawn Shivers of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, John Henry Shivers of Soperton; Otis Shivers of Swainsboro; and Michael Shivers of Jacksonville, Fla.
Pallbearers were Gregory Vaughn, Willie Albert Brown, Phillip Dawson, Maricus McCoy, Willie A. Shivers and Calvin Brown.
Mosley’s Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Eudell Anderson, 92
Mrs. Eudell Anderson, 92, died Monday, November 26, 2007, at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. She was born in Toombs County but lived most of her life in Tattnall County. Mrs. Anderson was an outdoors person whose greatest joy were her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Connors Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Anderson and two sons, W.S. and Bob Anderson.
Survivors are a son and daughter - in - law, Winston and Cheryl Anderson of Cobbtown; a daughter, Sandra Burroughs of Cobbtown; a brother, Herman Mitchum of Augusta; nine grandchildren, fourteen great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Reverend Murl Gwynn and Reverend Carl Ledbetter officiating. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Connors Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.

George (Pat) W. Anderson, Jr., 59
George (Pat) W. Anderson, Jr., 59, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2007, at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. The Tattnall County native had lived in this area all of his life. He was formerly employed with the Tattnall County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator and presently employed with McLeod Farms. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Mason Reid Bargeron.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen C. Anderson of Reidsville; children, Heidi Deisler of St. Augustine, FL, John and Joy Bargeron of Reidsville, Angela and Adrian Nease of Glennville and Julius (Frog) and Melinda Bargeron of Glennville; sisters and brother - in - law, Helen Hughes of Reidsville and Connie and Bernice Mitchell of Claxton; brother, Steve Anderson of Bellville; sister and brother - in - law, Eva and Ricky Wilson of Glennville; six grandchildren, Kelli and Andrew Bargeron, Dalton Rush, Alex Nease, Will Nease, Taylor Deisler and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 26 from the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend Sterling Bargeron officiating. Burial followed in the Cedar Creek Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie McLeod, Stacy Wilds, Freddie Hinson, Johnny Ray, Bart Dutton and Joey Anderson.

Willene Lively Bugg, 63
Willene Lively Bugg, 63, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, in Savannah. The native of Tattnall County loved shopping and crafts, and was retired from Metter Nursing home after 25 years, where she loved working with all of the residents.
Survivors include sister and brother - in - law, Jeanette and Robert Holloway; sister - in - law, Mrs. Coley Lively; special niece, Judy Lively and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 23, 2007, in the chapel of Morgan Family Funeral Home. Burial followed in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
Morgan Family Funeral Home, Metter, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
