Mrs. Rosetta Dukes Walker, 67, of Brunswick, GA, passed away on October 16, 2008, at the Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, GA.
She was born December 21, 1940, in Tattnall County, GA, to the late Daniel Dukes and Edna (Teasdell) Dukes.
She leaves her loving memories to her husband Willie James Walker, Sr. of Brunswick, GA; two daughters and sons - in - law, Phyllis and Victor King Sr. of Brunswick, GA and DeVora and Jackie Davis of Brunswick, GA; four sisters, Mrs. Rosa L. Alston of Glennville, Queen V. Williams and Ollie Mae Lawrence, both of Brunswick and Margie Starkes of Raleigh, NC; two brothers and a sister - in - law, Daniel and Thelma Dukes of Fayetteville, NC and Lonnie Dukes of Glennville; five grandchildren and their spouses, DeToya N. Davis of Brunswick, LaKya and Lartareo Shaw of Oceanside, CA, Jacquiscia L. Davis, Victor L. King Jr., Kierra R. King all of Brunswick; two great grands, Jacquillyone A. Davis of Brunswick and KySean L.L. Shaw of Oceanside, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a close friend, Ms. Claudia Jones.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tyson, GA, with burial following in Greater Zachariah Baptist Church cemetery in Glennville, GA.

DeAlva Brown Warren, 94
Mrs. DeAlva Brown Warren, 94, died Thursday, October 9, 2008, at BJC Nursing Home in Commerce. The Emanuel County native lived most of her life in Metter before moving to Jefferson in 1998 to be near her son. She was a homemaker and retired from Metter Manufacturing Company. She was a member of the Cedar Street Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. DeAlva enjoyed talking and being with people, never meeting a stranger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Warren and a son, Brown Warren.
She is survived by two sons and three daughters - in - law, Herbert and Martha Warren of Eatonton, Jim and Linda Warrenof Jefferson and Edna Warren of Snellville; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 11, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Rev. Doug Gibson officiating. Pallbearers were Monty Tillman, Larry Hadden, William McGowan, Hubert Crooms, Larry Sikes and Remer McGowan. Burial was in the Cool Springs Cemetery.

Mary Patricia Brady Clifton, 46
Mary Patricia Brady Clifton, 46, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, after a sudden illness. A native of Clarke County, Georgia, she attended New Beulah Methodist of Ollifftown. Mary was a graduate of Oconee County High School and Georgia Southern University with a Masters of Special Education. She worked as a parapropressional in the Candler County Schools before starting her teaching career at Toombs County Middle School. She then returned to Metter, teaching Special Education at the middle and high schools, and pioneered the Performance Learning Center before assuming the position of Special Education Coordinator at the Board of Education. “Mama Mary” was an avid sports “mom” following all of her “kids” in their endeavors and competitions. She collected frogs, dogs, and lots of extra “children.” She was an inspiration to all who knew her and went to the last mile to help those in need, always putting others before herself. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Danny Brady. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jay Clifton, children Jesse Clifton and Jeffrey Clifton, step - son, Jamie Clifton, close family friend Leigh Ann Cundiff, all of Metter, brother, Keith Brady of Athens, sister Sandy Heard of Alabama, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and “children.”
Funeral services were held Friday, October 10, 2008, at the Wilcox Auditorium with the burial following at Lake Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship in Mary’s honor is set up at the Metter Bank, P.O. Box 1160, Metter, GA 30439.

Sybil Holton, 84
Sybil Holton, 84, passed away at her home after a long illness. The Tattnall County native lived in Tattnall County all of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Harold Holton.
She is survived by her daughters and sons - in - law, Linda and Douglas Geiger of Monroe and Susan and Mike Campbell of Chiefland, FL; one son, William J. Holton of Claxton; one sister, Belinda Glisson of Brunswick, GA; five grandchildren, four great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services and burial were held Monday, October 13, 2008, at Anderson Church Cemetery, with Talmadge Seay officiating.
Pallbearers were Lonnie Calloway, Gabriel Hodges, Randy DeLoach, Brain Odom, Shane Blalock and Burt Hendrix.

Jason W. Jarriel, age 79
Mr. Jason W. Jarriel, age 79, passed away Sunday morning, October 12, 2008, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. The Tattnall County native had lived in Collins most of his life. He was a US Navy Veteran and was employed with the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office as a dispatcher for 25 years. He was also a retired farmer and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Eleanor Jarriel of Collins; a son, Louie Jarriel of Claxton; four daughters and sons - in - law, Gail and Robert West of Reidsville, Beth and Jimmy Barnett of Glennville, Sue and Gonzalo Garcia of Claxton, and Kim and Rob Johnson of Columbia, SC; a sister, Lorena Callaway of Collins; his mother - in - law, Mrs. Florrie L. Kennedy of Reidsville; 11 grandchildren, seven great - grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jacob Jarriel, Jared West, Judd West, Kenith Threatte, Jeremy Threatte, Adam Rogers, and Braden Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Dean Collins, Franklin Mack, and Jimmy McDaniel.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 14, 2008, from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with Elder William Tidwell officiating. Burial followed in the Collins Baptist Church Cemetery.

Melissa Kicklighter, 37
Melissa Kicklighter, 37, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro. The Wayne County native had lived in this area all of her life and was formerly employed as a secretary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Guy Kicklighter and a brother, Glenn Kicklighter.
She is survived by a loving companion, Larry Anderson of Glennville; children, John Glenn McClain, Courtney Kicklighter and Alexis Sapp, all of Glennville; sisters, Cathy Arnold of Seale, AL and Teresa Jones of Glennville; brothers, Terry Kicklighter and Grady Kicklighter, both of Darien, Barry Kicklighter of Glennville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 12, 2008, from the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Elder David Summerford officiating. Burial followed in Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Binnie C. Moore, 95
Mrs. Binnie C. Moore, 95, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Evans Memorial Hospital. She was born in Tattnall County on July 29, 1913, to Jerome and Carrie Ray Brannen. She was employed in the textile industries for many years, a homemaker and loved working in her flower garden. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great - grandmother, great - great - grandmother and attended Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Moore.
She is survived by her daughters and sons - in - law, Bobbie and Bennie Dubberly of Glennville, Melba and Sam McDugald of St. Augustine, FL, Laverne and Owen Thomas of Baldwin, FL, and Dorothy and Cecil Kicklighter of Ludowici; sons and daughters - in - law, Doyle and Carol Moore of Jacksonville, FL and Durone and Donna Moore of Reidsville; 14 grandchildren, 33 great - grandchildren, five great - great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 13, 2008, at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Smith officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were T.C. Rogers, Pat Patterson, Jim Tootle, Ronnie Barnhill, Don Cobb, Eugene Dasher and Jerry Burkhalter.

John D. Mosley, 60, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008, at his residence. The Tattnall County native had lived in Minnesota for many years, prior to moving back to Glennville five years ago. He was a retired painter from the construction industry and of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sara; father, Wade; brother, Larry and sister, Wendy.
He is survived by his loving companion, Geraldine Galbreath of Vidalia; mother, Loree Mosley of Glennville; children, Dusty Page of Savannah and Wade Mosley of Vidalia; sisters and brothers - in - law, Mary Ann and Bobby Ray of Reidsville, Gail and Sammy Hendrix of Glennville and Delta Prudence of Glennville; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 13, 2008, at the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend Harris Nix officiating. Burial followed in Mendes Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Pearson, Dean Pearson, Russell Pearson, Martin O’Donnell, Josh Gamblin and Joel Clifton.

James Tyler Pearson, 19
James Tyler Pearson, 19, died Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Sands University Hospital in Gainsville, FL.
The Ohio native had lived in this area most of his life and enjoyed playing football at Tattnall County High School where he attended school. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending Cobbtown Baptist Church and First United Pentecostal Church of Glennville.
Survivors include his parents, Michael and Linda Woodcock of Cobbtown, GA; brothers, Ike Pearson of Reidsville, Cole Woods of Cobbtown; sisters, Kristen Pearson of Reidsville, Kaitlyn Woodcock of Cobbtown and Jamie Woodcock of Jacksonville, FL; maternal grandparents, James and Latrell Stepp of Reidsville; paternal grandparents, Bobby and Eloise Coleman of Jacksonville, FL; paternal grandmother, Mary Lou Woods of Portal.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 13, 2008, at 11 a.m., at Cobbtown Baptist Church with Reverend James Holland officiating. Pallbearers were Cody Williams, Blake White, Lance Lively, Robert Roskey, John Duty and Steve West.
