Lucille (Pepi) Savoy, 93

Lucille (Pepi) Savoy, 93, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Johnson County native lived in Florida for many years, moving back to Reidsville in 1975. She was retired from South Florida Dairy Foods and a member of the Church of God.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Vondell and Bernice Iddins of Glennville, J.K. Jr. and Carol Murray of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Joyce Brazell and Ricky Allen Murray, both of Reidsville; sisters, Reba Peebles of Dublin and Alma Jean Albertson of Wrightsville; brothers, Broxton McCoy of Reidsville and Lamar McCoy of Wrightsville; 11 grandchildren, 18 great - grandchildren, five great - great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 11, 2008, from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Elliott officiating. Burial followed in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were D.J. Dubberly, Dillon Brown, Jeff Bailey, Jason Bailey, Timmy McCoy and Danny Ray DeLoach.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

J. Royce Sutton, 81

J. Royce Sutton, 81, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008, at his residence under the care of his family and Georgia Home Health Hospice. The Toombs County native had lived in Glennville for many years. He was a World War II Veteran, former educator and the owner/operator of Glennville Acceptance Company. He was a member of Glennville United Methodist Church where he served as a Lay Leader, and was a Sunday school teacher at Glennville and Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Sutton and brother, W.D. Sutton.
He is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Bowen of Glennville and son and daughter - in - law, Wayne and Colleen Snow Sutton of St. Simons Island; sisters, Freddie Finklea of Keystone, FL, and Joan Atkinson of Jacksonville, FL; sister - in - law, Christine Sutton; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jennifer Sutton and Reese Snow; great - grandchild, Zannis Kodros, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Cabbage officiating. Burial followed in Pinecrest cemetery in Vidalia.
Pallbearers were Mike Mulligan, Dylan Mulligan, Jeff Pace, Wade Clark, Joey Clark, David Smith, Daniel Smith and Billy Leedy.
Remembrances may be made to Glennville United Methodist Church, 116 South Caswell St., Glennville, GA 30427 or the charity of one’s choice.

Thersta Ann Walcott, 58

Mrs. Thersta Ann Walcott, 58, of Glennville, Georgia passed away Friday, October 10, 2008, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA, after an extended illness.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Walcott of Glennville, GA; three sons and daughters - in - law, Willie Lee Jr.and Veronica Bacon, William and Elease Bacon and Otis and Saleeta Bacon, all of Glennville, GA; five sisters, Claudia Fillmore of Far Rockaway, NY, Janice Golden, Viola Fillmore, Felicia and Hubert Fair and Dellrea Fillmore, all of Glennville; three brothers, Charlie, Maurice and Claude Fillmore Jr., all of Glennville; six grandchildren, eight aunts, four uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held October 18, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the New Fellowship Baptist Church in Glennville, with burial in the Robert Chapel cemetery in Glennville.
King and Son’s Funeral Home of Glennville is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences can be given online www.kingbrothersfh.com.

Harry L. Woodcock, 94

Harry L. Woodcock, 94, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Glenvue Nursing Home, under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in this area all of his life and was a World War II Army Veteran. He and his brother owned and operated Woodcock’s Barbershop for over 40 years. He was employed with Duramatic Corporation for over 17 years, a member of Glennville VFW Post 8379 and a member of the Glennville First Baptist Church. He loved to fish. He was preceded in death by a son, Lee Woodcock and a daughter, Joan W. Kimble.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel Woodcock of Glennville; children, Larry and Cindy Woodcock of Hazlehurst, GA, Teresa and Tommy Jordan of Gray, GA and Deneb Woodcock Causey of Glennville; ten grandchildren, ten great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at 11 a.m., from the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Jordan and Chaplin Max Kennedy officiating. Burial followed in the Glennville City cemetery with Military Honors.
Pallbearers were Jared Durrence, Gerald Strickland, Tommy Hilliard, Charles Simmons, David Perkins, Andy Perkins and Ed Nelson. Honorary pallbearers were members of Glennville VFW Post 8379.
Remembrances may be made to Pearls of Life Hospice, 215 S. Duval St., Claxton, GA 30416 or Glennville First Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 321 W. Barnard St., Glennville, GA 30427.

James Bruce Allen Sr., 68

James Bruce Allen Sr., 68, was called home Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the VA Hospital in Augusta. Bruce lived most of his life in Candler County and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was in the Army with the rank of E - 4, enjoyed traveling, watching sports and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents Levy and Elvira Ellis Allen and a son Bruce Allen Jr.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Fluet Allen of Cobbtown; stepchildren, Martha Dekle of Brunswick, Sharon Fluet of Oakland CA., Jimmy Fluett, Eddie Fluet, Mary Ellen Thrift, George Fluet, and David Fluet, all of Cobbtown, Lucy Monroe of Metter; two sisters, Martha Sherman of Metter and Jackie Bragg of Statesboro; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services were on Saturday October 4, 2008, in the chapel, with burial following in the Lower Lotts Creek Cemetery.
Morgan Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Richard P. Bradley, 87

Mr. Richard P. Bradley, age 87, passed away Friday, October 3, 2008, at his residence. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville most of his life. He attended the Georgia Military Academy, Emory University Academy, Emory University, and the University of Georgia. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the US Army Air Force as a pilot. He was a charter member and executive officer of the Company “C” 144th A.I.B. Georgia National Guard. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was a former member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, City of Glennville Industrial Authority, Glennville Hospital Authority, City of Glennville Planning and Zoning Commission, Glennville City Council and served as Mayor Pro - Tem. He held commercial pilot license and was a member of the Glennville United Methodist Church. Mr. Bradley was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Stacy Bradley; daughter, Susan B. Anderson; brothers, Edward Bradley and John D. Bradley Jr.
He is survived by his son and daughter - in - law, Richard P. and Louise Bradley Jr. of Glennville; a son - in - law, Danny Anderson of Glennville; five grandchildren, Lana and Walter Ray, Daniel and Wendy Anderson, Ricky and Jennifer Bradley, Alan and Angie Anderson, all of Glennville and Bradley B. Anderson of Reidsville; ten great - grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ray, Megan Ray, Trey Anderson, Ridge Bradley, Zachary Anderson, Laine Bradley, Jena Bradley, Jade Bradley, Brooke Anderson, and A.J. Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Daniel Anderson, Bradley B. Anderson, Alan Anderson, Ricky Bradley, Walter Ray, Trey Anderson and Ridge Bradley.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 6, 2008, from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Walker and Rev. Vance Riggins officiating. Burial followed in the Glennville City cemetery with Military Honors.
Memorials may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Billy Brazell, 75

Billy Brazell, 75, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta. He was a retired plumber, electrician and US Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his loving companion, Twila.
He is survived by his sons and daughter - in - law, Stevie Anderson, Billy Wood and Jerry Brazell, all of Glennville and Andrew and Crystal Brazell of Spotsylvania, VA; daughters and sons - in - law, Debbie and Ellis Futch of Ludowici and Mary Ann and Roy Elliot of Gatesville, TX; sister, Barbara Bearer of Pooler; ten grandchildren, six great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 6, 2008, at Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, with Reverend Kenny Edwards officiating. Burial followed at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Burkhalter, Ned DeLoach, Tommy Reynolds, Charles Greer, Jesse Lott and D.J. Dubberly.

Meridean Tatum DeLoach, 62

Meridean Tatum DeLoach, 62, died Monday, October 6, 2008, at Glenvue Nursing Home under the care of Georgia Home Health Care Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in this area all of her life and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her loving companion, Tommy Coulter of Glennville; children, Alfred Rowell of Statesboro, Patricia Rowell of Glennville and Otis DeLoach of Pembroke; brothers and sisters, Charlene Jones of Claxton, Eloise Skinner of Metter, Huey Hodges of Glennville, Gene Tatum and Bonnie of Metter, Jimmie Tatum of Glennville and Danny and Jackie Ann Tatum of Metter; six grandchildren, two great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 8, 2008, from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend Edward Brannen officiating. Burial followed in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joey Jones, Larry Powell, Paul Cason, Wesley Carnes, Michael McGlashan and Timmy Jones.

Bertha Cribbs Driggers, 95

Bertha Cribbs Driggers, 95, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Glenvue Nursing Home. The Wayne County native had lived most of her life in Tattnall County. She was a member of Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and enjoyed crafts and plants.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie F. Driggers; daughters, Hazel Driggers and Patricia Schramm.
She is survived by seven daughters, Helen Kicklighter, Miriam Nunnally, Meta Knight, Marsh Driggers, all of Glennville, Mary Ida Cowart of Eden, Anita Nunnally of Clyo, and Deborah Schneider of Nashville, TN; 18 grandchildren, several great - grandchildren and great - great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend Travis Cowart officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Cox, Paul Spence, B.C. Cribbs, Alan McNeese, Travis Cowart Jr., and Shannon Hall.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
