Stewart Morris Beck, 64

Stewart Morris Beck, 64, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. He was born in Lenoir, NC, and lived in Glennville for the past 30 years. He was employed with the City of Glennville for many years and retired from the Tattnall County Road Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Beck; parents, Foy and Girdie Beck; brother, Glenn Beck and sister, Alma Picrola.
He is survived by his children, Stewart Beck of Crystal River, FL, Kathy Johnson of Glennville and Patsy Buck of Statesboro; brother and sister - in - law, Dell and Anita Beck of Crystal River, FL; sisters and brother - in - law, Carolyn A. Jones and Linda Watson both of Lenoir, NC, Alene and Lewis Aldridge of Salisbury, NC; sixteen grandchildren, four great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Funeral Services were held on Friday, June 29, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Eller officiating.
Remembrances can be made to the Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.

Joyce Dickerson, 70

Joyce Dickerson, 70, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at her residence under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. She was born in Madison, FL. She moved to Glennville in 1950. She was the former owner/operator of C&D Truck Stop in Glennville and was of the Catholic Faith.
She is survived by her husband, Don Dickerson of Glennville; daughter and son - in - law, Ann and Terry Dasher of Glennville; son and daughter - in - law, Charles and Glenda Dickerson of Statesboro; grandchildren, Vicky and Casey Bruce, Ricky Dukes, Jr., all of Glennville, Paige Dickerson of Statesboro and Don Thompson of Scottsdale, AZ; two great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 29, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Oscar Rowe, Jr., and Rev. Jerry Knight officiating. Burial followed in Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lee Durrence, Joe Folsom, Nick Rogers, Delmas Durrence, Bobby Weathers and Jay Folsom.
Remembrances can be made to Pearls of Life Hospice, 13 S. Newton St., Claxton, GA 30417.

Retta Durden, 68

Mrs. Retta Durden, 68, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007, at her residence. The Indiana native had lived in Glennville for the past twenty - three years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Delmas Durden.
She is survived by her son and daughter - in - law, Terry L. and Carol A. Chastain of Salem, Ind.; a stepson, Taron Durden of Milledgeville, GA; a stepdaughter, Delaree Fine of Pittsburgh, PA; two sisters, Betty Harden and Lou Ann Hamilton, both of Salem, Ind.; four brothers, Ray Chastain of Bradenton, FL, Jim Chastain of Henderson, NC, Dennis Chastain and Tom Chastain, both of Salem, NC; four grandchildren, Tammy Lopez of Charles Town, Ind., Christina Barro of New Albany, Ind., Terry D. Chastain of San Antonio, TX, and Cory Chastain of Salem, Ind.; nine great - grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 2 at 11 a.m. at Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with interment following in Marvin United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Lula Powell, 73

Miss Lula Powell, 73, of Lyons died Friday, June 29, 2007, at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. She was born in Tattnall County, the daughter of the late Leonard Powell, Sr., and Katie T. Powell, and lived there many years before moving to Lyons in 1976. She retired from the Toombs Manufacturing Company and was a Baptist.
She is survived by two brothers and a sister - in - law, Leonard Powell, Jr., and Mozelle, and Marvin Powell, all of Lyons; four sisters, Eula Edwards, Tera Collins and Carolyn Dyer, all of Lyons, and Joyce Edge of Normantown; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 1 at 2 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with burial in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.

Tina Marie Rallo, 46

Tina Marie Rallo, 46, of Glennville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Ogeechee Area Hospice after a sudden illness. She was a native of New Jersey, but lived in the Georgia area since 2000. She was a sales representative for Cingular Company and was Catholic by faith.
She is survived by her mother, Darlene Lee; brother, Al Lee, both of Glennville; six children, TeAnn Kelly, Cathren Fleigler, Candice Wojton, Bernard Joly, Nicholas Joly and Sklar Joly; one grandson, Jonathan Kelly, all of Pennsylvania; one sister, Valerie Mays of Oklahoma; and one step - brother, Robert E. Lee of New Jersey.
The burial was private. Carter Funeral Chapel of Glennville was in charge of the arrangements.

T.E. Terrell, 71

Mr. T.E. Terrell, 71, died on Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Hospice Savannah.
Mr. Terrell was born in Toombs County to the late Lelon and Agnes Terrell. He was a member of Life Spring Worship Center and served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Action Auto and he enjoyed bird watching, fishing, and he loved and respected nature. He was a Volkswagon enthusiast and he was part of a team that holds the world record for building the quickest Volkswagon [Winks Wagon]. He loved and dedicated his life to the Lord.
Survivors include his children, Wanda Cawthorn of Bloomingdale, Rhonda Winzenrith of Virginia, Tim (Janna) Terrell of Rincon and Rev. Ken (Shannon) Terrell of Savannah; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great - grandchildren; brothers, Jack Terrell of Glennville, Shady Terrell of Faulkville and Reggie Terrell of Savannah; sisters, Doris McCullough of Pooler and Bobbie White of Pooler, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Chopper.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 6 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Ken Terrell and Rev. Juile Stanley officiating. Burial to follow at Westside Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Olera Williams, 93

Mother Olera Williams, affectionately known as Sister Will, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton.
She was born on October 26, 1913, in Evans County to Willis and Pennie Ann Bacon (now deceased). She was the oldest of six brothers and sisters. She was educated in the Evans County School System.
She was united in holy matrimony to Will Willis Williams (now deceased). To this union, 11 children were born. Two preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories seven daughters: Ocilla Jackson, Minister Jeanette Williams, and Lavern Relaford, all of East Point; Pennie Everett of Decatur; Lizzie Miller of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and Jannie (Ben) Hillian of Fredericksburg, Virginia; two sons, Joe Williams of Ft. Lauderdale and Robert Williams of Glennville; 25 grandchildren; 16 great - grandchildren; and four great - great - grandchildren; (Three grandchildren, she raised as her own - Minister Harry Lovett of Ft. Lauderdale, Harvey Moody of Ft. Valley, and Jamil Williams of Union City); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Wake service will be held at the Center of Life Church of God in Glennville on Friday, July 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 7, at Simmons Temple Church of Christ in Collins. Burial will be in Eureka Cemetery in Hagan.

Lonnie (Mickey) Wilson, Sr., 57

Mr. Lonnie (Mickey) Wilson, Sr., 57, of Statesboro, GA, died suddenly Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Mr. Wilson was a native of Candler County and lived in Statesboro most of his life. He was a carpenter by trade. He loved to fish, was loved by all and he will be missed by everyone. He was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie N. and Zadie Wilson; a brother, Roy Wilson; a sister, Louise Mincey and a daughter, Diane Rodriguez.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Wilson; a son, Lonnie Wilson, Jr.; a daughter, Patricia Wilson, all of Statesboro; one son, Frank Wilson of Glennville; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Dane Glisson officiating. Interment followed in the El Bethel Cemetery, near Twin City.

Martha Jane Banks, 75

Martha Jane Banks died Thursday, August 23, 2007, at Piedmont Hospital as a result of a stroke. She was born November 15, 1931, in Glennville and was a long - time resident of Atlanta. She is preceded in death by her parents, Felton and Vera Durrence Banks. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern Teacher’s College in Statesboro. She taught school for several years before joining the staff of an educational publishing company. Miss Banks began a career in personnel with an agency in Atlanta and with the Girl Scouts of the USA. With the Girl Scouts, she traveled throughout the southeast advising local councils regarding their staffing and personnel needs, until the National Girl Scout Organization closed their regional Atlanta Office. Her next career move was to Georgia State University, where she was a Career Program Coordinator in the Georgia Career Information Center. She served as Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta and has been involved in the ministry to Homeless Women and other community outreach programs. She volunteered with Zoo Atlanta, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Southeastern Flower Show and Tour Championship. She also served in leadership roles with the Center of Positive Aging.
She is survived by her aunt, Elise Smith of Savannah, numerous cousins and other relatives.
Graveside interment services were held on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Spencer Moore officiating. Remembrances may be made to Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Pat Patterson, P.O. Box 786, Glennville, GA 30427.

Elton “Boggie” Wade Clark, 65

Elton “Boggie” Wade Clark, 65, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at his residence, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Long County Georgia native had lived in this area most of his life. He was a retired truck driver and former employee of Rotary Corporation. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Amburn Clark of Glennville; children, Alton Wade Clark (Lisa) of Glennville, Beth Anderson (Danny) and Nicole DeLoach (Virgil) all of Claxton; sisters, Mary Clark, Jeanette Reddish and Janice Deloach, all of Glennville; brother, John Clark of Jesup; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on August 30, 2007, at Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 31, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Elder Spencer Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Pigott Branch Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donald Woodcock, Zachary Woodcock, Timmy Clark, Louis Geiger, David Watkins and Kyle Amburn.
