MRS. LULA TERRELL

Mrs. Lula Terrell, 89, of Cedar Bluff, Ala., formerly of Carrollton, died Feb. 6, 1997 at Floyd County Medical Center.

Born April 5, 1907 in Douglas County, Mrs. Terrell was a retired seamstress with International Latex in Newnan and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Terrell was the widow of Charles Terrell and was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha O'Connell, and sons, Robert Terrell and Milton Terrell.

Funeral services were held Feb. 8 at Martin and Hightower West Center Street Chapel in Carrollton with the Rev. David House officiating. Interment followed at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Alton Brooks of Smithfield, Va., Virginia and Ted DeLoach of Doraville, Linda and Bill Montgomery of Decatur; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Fran Terrell of Cedar Bluff, Mike and Donna Terrell of Forsyth; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

MR. RICHARD STEPHEN BOATRIGHT

Mr. Richard Stephen "Steve" Boatright, 43, of Carrollton died Jan. 30, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born Jan. 31, 1954 in Coweta County, Mr. Boatright was the son of the late Waymon Hope Boatright. He was the retired owner of Boatright Asphalt Company and a member of Cross Plains Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Feb. 1 at Cross Plains Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Rice, the Rev. Bobby Littleton and the Rev. Charles Littleton officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery with Joey Boatright, Timmy Boatright, Ricky Boatright, Gary Jennings, Nathan Horsley and Thomas Latimer serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Rowell Boatright of Carrollton; mother, Mildred R. Boatright of Newnan; sister, Cathy B. Horsley of Carrollton; and nephews, Nathan Horsley and Jimmy Horsley, both of Newnan.

MR. MACK BOYNTON

Mr. Mack Boynton, 74, of Maple Drive in Newnan died Feb. 6, 1997 at Peachtree Regional Hospital.

Born March 23, 1922 in Meriwether County, Mr. Boynton was the son of the late Allie and Minnie (Roberts) Boynton. He was the retired owner of Mack Electronics and a member of East Newnan Baptist Church.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Boynton served in the Philippines during Word War II and received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, two bronze stars; the Asiatic Pacific Service Medals, three bronze stars; and the American Service Medal.

Funeral services will be held Feb. 8 (today) at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Powers and the Rev. Gary Howard officiating, assisted by the Andy Denny and the Rev. Franklin Treadwell. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan with local VFW members serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Irene S. (Smith) Boynton of Newnan; sons, Jim Boynton, Kenneth Steven Boynton, both of Newnan; daughters, Linda Brown, Susie Stamey, Paula Kee, Patricia Burnham, Fifi Murphy, all of Newnan; son, Robert Murphy of Newnan; brother, Henry Lee McCright of Stone Mountain; sisters, Rudine McCright, Nina Adams, both of Newnan; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MR. JESSE A. DeLONAIS

Mr. Jesse A. "Uncle Jess" DeLonais of Sharpsburg, formerly of Hominy, Okla., died Feb. 4, 1997.

Funeral services will be held Feb. 8 (today) at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hominy.

Survivors include his daughters, Valerie Ellis of El Toro, Calif.; Veronica Krikorian of Russellville, Ark., Victoria Reece of Sharpsburg; sisters, Florene Bolt, Elizabeth Coffey, both of Hominy; brother, Jean DeLonais of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

MR. ALFORD ESKEW

Mr. Alford Eskew, 87, of Smith Road in Sargent died Jan. 30, 1997 at Peachtree Regional Hospital.

Born Feb. 8, 1909 in Carroll County, Mr. Eskew was the son of the late John Burgess Eskew and Effie Mapp Eskew. He was a retired textile worker and a member of Congregational Holiness Church of Carrollton.

Funeral services were held Feb. 1 at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Hart officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Fleming. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan with Hubert Smith, Charles Smith, Malcolm Smith, Junior Smith, Jimmy Smith and Danny Eskew serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his son, Bobby Eskew of Arnco; grandchildren, Terri Cooper, Kenneth Eskew, Wesley Eskew, all of Newnan; and great-grandchildren, Megan Cooper, Trevor Cooper, Morgan Eskew and Whitney Eskew, all of Newnan.

MRS. PAULINE CHLOE JONES

Mrs. Pauline Chloe Jones, 88, of Carrollton, formerly of Newnan, died Jan. 24, 1997 at Pineknoll Nursing Home in Carrollton.

Born Sept. 2, 1908 in Heard County, Mrs. Jones was a retired textile worker and a member of Carrollton First Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held Jan. 26 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan with Bruce Brewer officiating.

Survivors include her niece, Betty Jean Johnston of Newnan; and nephews, W.J. Strickland of Smyrna, Charles Jones of Hollywood, Fla., and Bill Jones of Columbus.

MR. JAMES LARRY LAVELLE

Mr. James Larry Lavelle, 36, of Amey Street in Senoia passed away Feb. 2, 1997 after an automobile accident.

Born Dec. 3, 1960, Mr. Lavelle was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Daniel Shannon.

Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Moreland with the Rev. L.W. Booker officiating, assisted by the Rev. Willie J. Scott. Interment followed at the church cemetery with friends serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl B. Lavelle; daughter, Shenika A. Lavelle; mother, Addie Mae Shannon of Forsyth; father, Winfred Lavelle of California; grandmother, Ruby Shannon of Forsyth; mother and father-in-law, James and Doris Whatley of Senoia; brothers and sisters, Mayceo, Winfred Jr., Jay, Curtis, Barbara, Teresenia, Mary; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry, Ricky, Ron and Lisa; aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews.

MRS. JUANITA RUCKER MILLER

Mrs. Juanita Rucker "Nita" Miller, 86, of Grantville passed away Feb. 1, 1997 at Starcrest Convalescent Home in Newnan.

Born Sept. 6, 1909, Mrs. Miller was the daughter of the late Rev. Israel C. and Maude Spear Rucker and the widow of Howard Johnson Miller.

Before her health deteriorated in 1987, Mrs. Miller was involved in religious, civic and social organizations. She held many church leadership positions and was active on the district and conference level of the church. She sang in the choir of the Fourth Street Methodist Church.

Mr. Miller worked as a beautician and a food services worker in Coweta County's schools. She retired as cafeteria manager of Grantville Brown School.

Funeral services were held Feb. 6 at John Wesley United methodist Church in Grantville with the Rev. Joe P. Geter officiating. Interment followed at the Grantville City Cemetery with members of the United Methodist Men serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her sister, Thelma; brother, Lawrence; sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews.

MRS. JEWELL QUIGLEY

Mrs. Jewell Quigley, 80, of Alpharetta died Jan. 28, 1997 at Lilburn Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Jan. 24, 1917 in Primrose, Mrs. Quigley was the daughter of the late Ira Eugene Hardaway and Leola (Norris) Hardaway. She was a retired assistant cashier at Greenville Banking Company was a member of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held Jan. 31 at McKoon Funeral Home with Chaplain Peter Brewer officiating, assisted by the Rev. Floyd Tenney. Interment followed at Luthersville Cemetery with Billy West, Joe Lee, Tommy Wilson, Barry Wilson, Howard Hardaway, Walter Taylor and Hines Barnes serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Quigley of Alpharetta; son, Ralph Patrick Quigley of Duluth; sisters, Ruth Adams of Hartwell, Rose Lee of Lone Oak, Helen Rowe of LaGrange, Peggy Wilson of Dacula; brother, Harry Hardaway of Cumming; and grandchildren, Kelly Lynn Quigley and Kristen Marie Quigley, both of California.

MR. CARL M. SMITH

Mr. Carl M. Smith, 79, of Hogansville died Feb. 4, 1997 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Decatur.

Born May 22, 1917 in Taylor City, N.C., Mr. Smith was the son of the late Thomas and Katie Stanley Smith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired painter.

Funeral services were held Feb. 7 at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Benney Phillips officiating; Interment followed at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.

Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Corbin of Sharpsburg, Jewel Taylor of Milner; sons, Kenneth Smith of Barnesville, Buddy Smith of Oxford; sisters, Juanita Whittington of Texas, Letha Ray of West Virginia; brother, Tommy Smith of North Carolina; 121 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

MASTER RICHARD J. SMITH

Master Richard J. Smith, the infant son of Jennifer Hannah and Ricky Smith of Corinth, died Feb. 2, 1997 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.

Graveside services will be held Feb. 8 (today) at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Heard County with the Rev. Robert Longshore officiating.

Survivors include his half-sisters, Haley Laskow of Corinth, Dee Smith of Dudley, Kelley Smith of Hogansville; half-brother, Chris Laskow of Corinth; grandparents, Shirley Ott of Corinth, James Hannah of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Smith of Hogansville; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Smith of Corinth, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Allen and Mr. and Mrs. James Woodruff, all of LaGrange.
