MRS. JUANITA R. MILLER

Mrs. Juanita R. Miller of Grantville passed away Feb. 1, 1997 at Starcrest Convalescent Center in Newnan. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

MISS EMILY REBECCA O'NEAL

Miss Emily Rebecca O'Neal died Jan. 28, 1997 at Columbus Medical Center.

Graveside services were held Jan. 31 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan with the Rev. Mike White officiating, assisted by Dr. Dan Akins.

Survivors include her parents, Michael O'Neal and Corrie Hill, both of Newnan; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Moreland of Newnan, Carolyn Hill of Newnan, Willard Hill of Athens and Mr. and Mrs. Donald O'Neal of Newnan.

MR. DANIEL LEE PARKS SR.

Mr. Daniel Lee Parks Sr., 60, passed away Jan. 29, 1997 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

Born March 7, 1936 in Coweta County, Mr. Parks was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Parks. He was a member of Powell Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was president of the church's Senior Choir and a member of the United Methodist Men.

Mr. Parks was preceded in death by his brothers, Byrd Parks, John Thomas Parks, Willie Parks Sr., James Edward Parks, and by his sisters, Essie Bolton and Jessie Stokes.

Funeral services were held Feb. 1 at Powell Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. R.W. Sutton officiating, assisted by the Rev. Willie L. Geter and other ministers. Interment followed at the church cemetery with the Powell Chapel United Methodist Men serving as pallbearers and his nephews serving as honorary pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Parks; children, Chesketa A. Parks, Mildred L. Parks, Daniel L. Parks Jr., all of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Darryl (Renee) Davis of Stone Mountain; a grandson, Christopher Parks; sisters, Christola Crawford of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred (Mildred) Ragland of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Sara) Fears of Dayton, Ohio; brothers, Eddie B. Parks of Dayton, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver (Daisy) Parks of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Christine Parks; nieces and nephews.

MR. THOMAS MARVIN PITTMAN

Mr. Thomas Marvin Pittman, 23, of Newnan died Jan. 31, 1997.

Born Dec. 25, 1973 in Clayton County, Mr. Pittman was an installer for Advantage Fire Sprinkler Inc.

Funeral services were held Feb. 3 at Herschel McDaniel Funeral Home with Dwain Boothe officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Brandi Pittman of Newnan; son, Thomas Austin Pittman of Newnan; parents, Thomas and Loette Pittman of Newnan; brother, Thomas Chuck Pittman; sisters, Roxie Thompson of Canton, Tracey DeLong of Macon and Tonya Burns of Indiana.

MRS. MARTHA SIBLEY

Mrs. Martha Sibley, 68, of Bear Creek Road in Moreland died Jan. 29, 1997 at Southwest Christian Hospice.

Born Feb. 22, 1928 in Coweta County, Mrs. Sibley was the daughter of the late Peter James David and Freddie (Manley) Davis. She was a member of White Oak A.R.P. Church and was retired from Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Sibley was preceded in death by her brothers, James Davis and Hugh Davis, and a sister, Betty Bohannon.

Funeral Services were held Jan. 31 at White Oak A.R.P. Church with the Rev. Rabun Williams officiating, assisted by the Rev. Lee Kennerly. Interment followed at White Oak A.R.P. Church with Lisle Bowers, Mutt Hunter, Jack Hunter, Leonard Hunter, J.C. Hunter, James Newby and Van Whitlock serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her husband, John Sibley of Moreland; daughters, Debbie Sibley of Augusta, Nan Newman of Moreland; son-in-law, Charlie Newman of Moreland; grandchildren, Alison Newman, John Newman, both of Moreland; brothers, Joe Davis of Macon, Edwin Davis of San Angelo, Texas; and sisters, Catherine Garrett of Marietta, Martel Freeman of Fayetteville, Ann Davis of Newnan, Jean Capes of Moreland and Alyce McDaniel of Sharpsburg.

Memorial contributions can be made to White Oak A.R.P. Church, 2796 Gordon Road, Senoia, Ga., 30276.

MR. HOWARD STONE

Mr. Howard Stone, 87, of Hogansville died Feb. 2, 1997 at Columbia Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.

Born March 22, 1909 in Meriwether County, Mr. Stone was the son of the late Frank Howard Stone and Mary Freel Stone. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired truck driver and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville.

Funeral services were held Feb. 4 at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Brown and the Rev. Marty Few officiating. Interment followed at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville with Ed Mashburn Jr., Gene Campbell, Ty Stribling, Christopher Stone, Johnny Stone Jr. and Joey McCartney serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Mashburn of Grantville; son, Bill Stone of Hogansville; brother, Johnny Stone of Hogansville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MR. PETER LAWRENCE CICCARELLO

Mr. Peter Lawrence Ciccarello, 65, of Eastwood Drive in Newnan died Jan. 30, 1997 in Newnan.

Born Oct. 7, 1931 in Tampa, Fla., Mr. Ciccarello was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Minutoli) Ciccarello. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a photographic engineer with Norifsu American Company.

Funeral services were held Feb. 1 (today) at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. John Derrick officiating. Interment followed at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Ala.

Survivors include his wife, Dian Williams Ciccarello; sons, Stephen Alan Ciccarello of Newnan, Larry Peter Ciccarello of Atlanta, Douglas Ciccarello of Shady Dale, Ala., Michael David Ciccarello of McDonough; and 10 grandchildren.

MRS. ROSA NELL HANSON

Mrs. Rosa Nell Hanson, 87, of Newnan died Jan. 28, 1997 at Starcrest Nursing Home.

Born March 16, 1909 in Coweta County, Mrs. Hanson was a member of Mills Chapel Baptist Church and was retired from Newnan Hosiery Mill.

Graveside services will be held Jan. 29, 1997 at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Willard Dean officiating, assisted by minister J.C. Cook.

Survivors include her son, Harley Hanson of Newnan; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

MISS JENNIFER LEE JONES

Mrs. Jennifer Lee Jones, 9, of Luthersville died Jan. 27, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born Nov. 29, 1987 in New Bern, N.C., Miss Jones was a third-grade student at Luthersville Elementary School and a member of Luthersville Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Jan. 30 at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Felder officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.

Survivors include her parents, Johnny and Kimberly Jones; sister, April Jones; brother, Michael Jones; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Folsom of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Hill of Maysville, N.C.; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Jones Sr. of Pollocksville, N.C.; maternal great-grandmother, Doris Hill of Maysville, N.C.; and paternal great-grandmother, Alma Turner Jones of New Bern, N.C.

MRS. PAULINE CHLOE JONES

Mrs. Pauline Chloe, 88, of Carrollton, formerly of Newnan, died Jan. 24, 1997 at Pineknoll Nursing Home in Carrollton.

Born Sept. 2, 1908 in Heard County, Mrs. Jones was a retired textile worker and a member of Carrollton First Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held Jan. 26 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan with Bruce Brewer officiating.

Survivors include his niece, Betty Jean Johnston of Newnan; and sons, W.J. Strickland of Smyrna, Charles Jones of Hollywood, Fla., and Bill Jones of Columbus.

MRS. MARY SUE LONG NEAL

Mrs. Mary Sue Neal, 86, of Bill Cline Road in Newnan died Jan. 28, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born April 15, 1910 in Guntersville, Ala., Mrs. Neal was the daughter of the late Maude F. Long and Clivis (Stover) Long and the widow of John M. Neal. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Newnan.

Mrs. Neal graduated from Marshall County High School in Alabama in 1927 and attended business school in Birmingham.

Mrs. Neal was a member of A number of civic and religious groups, including the Girl Scouts, parent-teacher organizations and garden clubs. Before retiring in 1978, Mrs. Neal was an accountant for an insurance agency in Arab, Ala.

Funeral services were held Jan. 31 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Parrish officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Hood. Interment followed at the Arab City Cemetery in Arab, Ala.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary (Bill) Cline of Newnan' son, John (Marty) Neal of Nanjemoy, Md.; grandchildren, Mandy Neal of Connecticut, Susan Cline, Kimberly Cline, both of Newnan, Cassie Neal, Lorie Baker, both of Virginia; and brother, Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Long of Chattanooga, Tenn.

MRS. RACHEL MAE PHILLIPS

Mrs. Rachel Mae Phillips, 81, of Luthersville passed away Jan. 24, 1997 at her home.

Born Sept. 23, 1915, Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of the late Luther Watson and Irene McWilliams and the widow of N.J. Phillips. Raised by her uncle and aunt, Albert and Nora McWilliams, she was a member of Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by four sons, a grandsons and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Jan. 30 at Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvin G. Baker and the Rev. Phillip Baker officiating, assisted by the Rev. J.C. Neal, the Rev. Grady Lawrence and the Rev. A.L. Birts. Interment followed at the church cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, George (Elaine) Phillips, Bonny (Elizabeth) Phillips, Luther (Linda) Phillips, John (Harvietta) Phillips; step-son, John Mays; daughters and son-in-law, Elnora (William) Rosser, Zelda C. Davenport; sisters, Gladys Howard, Willie C. (Nathanial) Grant, Evelyn Heights; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and cousins.
