MR. DANIEL PARKS

Mr. Daniel Parks of Willie Parks Road in Newnan passed away Jan. 30, 1997 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

MRS. JEWELL QUIGLEY

Mrs. Jewell Quigley, 80, of Alpharetta died Jan. 28, 1997 at Lilburn Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Jan. 24, 1917 in Primrose, Mrs. Quigley was the daughter of the late Ira Eugene Hardaway and Leola (Norris) Hardaway. She was a retired assistant cashier at Greenville Banking Company was a member of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held Jan. 31 at McKoon Funeral Home with Chaplain Peter Brewer officiating, assisted by the Rev. Floyd Tenney. Interment followed at Luthersville Cemetery with Billy West, Joe Lee, Tommy Wilson, Barry Wilson, Howard Hardaway, Walter Taylor and Hines Barnes serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her son, Ralph Patrick Quigley of Duluth; sisters, Ruth Adams of Hartwell, Rose Lee of Lone Oak, Helen Rowe of LaGrange, Peggy Wilson of Dacula; brother, Harry Hardaway of Cumming; and grandchildren, Kelly Lynn Quigley and Kristen Marie Quigley, both of California.

MRS. MARTHA SIBLEY

Mrs. Martha Sibley, 68, of Bear Creek Road in Moreland died Jan. 29, 1997 at Southwest Christian Hospice.

Born Feb. 22, 1928 in Georgia Mrs. Sibley was the daughter of the late Peter James David and Freddie (Manley) Davis. She was a member of White Oak A.R.P. Church and was retired from Newnan Hospital.

Funeral Services were held Jan. 31 at White Oak A.R.P. Church with the Rev. Rabun Williams officiating, assisted by the Rev. Lee Kennerly. Interment followed at White Oak A.R.P. Church with Lisle Bowers, Mutt Hunter, Jack Hunter, Betty Bohannon, Leonard Hunter, J.C. Hunter, James Newby and Van Whitlock serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her husband, John Sibley of Moreland; daughters, Debbie Sibley of Augusta, Nan Newman of Moreland; grandchildren, Allison Newman, John Newman, both of Moreland; brothers, Joe David of Macon, Edwin David of San Angelo, Texas; and sisters, Catherine Garrett of Marietta, Martel Freeman of Fayetteville, Ann Davis of Newnan, Jean Capes of Moreland and Alyce McDaniel of Sharpsburg.

Memorial contributions can be made to White Oak A.R.P. Church, 2796 Gordon Road, Senoia, Ga., 30276.

MRS. LETHA HESTER SMALLWOOD

Mrs. Letha Hester Smallwood, 80, of Hogansville died Jan. 28, 1997 at West Georgia Regional Medical Center.

Born May 30, 1916 in Coweta County, Mrs. Smallwood was the daughter of the late James and Martha Johns Hester. She was a member of Dunson Baptist Church in LaGrange and was retired from Uniroyal Inc.

Funeral services were held Jan. 30 at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Brown officiating. Interment followed at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville with Allan W. Johnson, Michael A. Johnson, E. Edward Lyons, William E. Lyons Jr., Frederick D. Branham, Jonathan E. Smallwood and Cynthia J. Johnson serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Smallwood of Hogansville; daughters, Judy Kilpatrick of Suwanee, Peggy Johnson of Marietta; sons, Earl Smallwood Jr. of Carrollton, Charles Smallwood of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MRS. BETTY FARMER

Mrs. Betty Farmer, 62, of Carrollton, formerly of LaGrange, died Jan. 26, 1997 at Columbia Parkway Medical Center in Lithia Springs.

Born July 4, 1934 in Carroll County, Mrs. Farmer was the daughter of the late Willie and Madie Adams Farmer. She was a member of Harris City Baptist Church and worked as the manager of a Newnan convenience store.

Graveside services were held Jan. 28 at Shadowland Mausoleum in LaGrange with the Rev. Jay Knight officiating.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and William Knight of LaGrange; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Brock of Greenville, Kenneth and Michelle Brock of Warm Springs, Paul and Patricia Brock of LaGrange; sister, Mary Lawler of LaGrange; brother, Melton Farmer of Newnan; former husband, Kenneth Adams Jr. of Carrollton; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

MRS. BESSIE COSBY GASTON

Mrs. Bessie Cosby Gaston, 83, of Griffin passed away Jan. 19, 1997 at Spalding Regional Hospital.

Born May 20, 1913, in Coweta County, Mrs. Gaston was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Cosby and the widow of Henry Gaston. Four sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.

She was a member of Sassie Grove Baptist Church in Senoia, where she served on the Mother Board.

Funeral services were held Jan. 25 at Sassie Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. J.H. Childs and the Rev. L.C. Britt officiating, assisted by the Rev. T.L. Harris. Interment followed at Neriah Baptist Church Cemetery in Senoia with her great nephews - Bud Hinton, Collus Watson, Allen Watson, Danny Watson, Greg Watson and Joe Watson - serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her sister, Jessie B. Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces, Caldonia Watson of Senoia, Mr. and Mrs. Emmit (Willie Mae) Arnold of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew (Johnnie Mae) Watson of Jonesboro; nephews, Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Dragg of Griffin, Willie Frank Cosby of Senoia; great nieces and great nephews.

MRS. ROSA C. HANEY

Mrs. Rosa C. Haney, 44, of Hogansville died Jan. 25, 1997 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

Born Feb. 3, 1952 in Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Haney was the daughter of the late Grover and Dorothy Strosnider Crider. She lived in Franklin before moving to Hogansville in 1991.

Mrs. Haney was a member of Grantville Church of God and was employed by Ramada Inn of LaGrange.

Graveside services were held Jan. 26 at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville with the Rev. Johnny Nunis officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Haney of Hogansville; daughter, Rita Lee Haney of Hogansville; son, Harold Wayne Haney Jr. of Hogansville; sister, Sheryl Brand of Hogansville; and brothers, Charles Crider of Franklin and Billy Crider of Hogansville.

MRS. ORA JOHNSON

Mrs. Ora Johnson, 85, of Newnan died Jan. 23, 1997 at Christian City nursing home in Union City.

Born Feb. 9, 1911 in Coweta County, Mrs. Johnson was the widow of Lanier Johnson. She was a member of the Presbyterian faith and a retired educator, having taught for many years at different schools in Coweta County, including Starr High School and Western School.

Mrs. Johnson earned a master's degree from Auburn University. She was a member of local, state and national retired teacher associations and a volunteer at Peachtree Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were held Jan. 25 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Sizemore officiating, assisted by the Rev. Searcy Jackson. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with Joe Crain Sr., James V. Luckie, Douglas L. Meadows, David Smith, Bruce Jackson, Gary King, Hugh Beavers and Jimmy Beavers serving as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Diabetes Association, 1 Corporate Square, Suite 127, Atlanta, Ga., 30329.

MRS. ZENA CHANDLER JOHNSON

Mrs. Zena Chandler Johnson, 83, of Terretine Road in Sharpsburg died Jan. 19, 1997 at her home.

Born April 30, 1913 in Carrollton, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary (Freeman) Chandler and the widow of William Johnson. She was a retired textile worker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held Jan. 20 at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Calhoun officiating, assisted by the Rev. Terry Calhoun.

Survivors include her nieces, Ann Harris of Sharpsburg, Patsy Chappel of Moreland, Louise Watson of Atlanta; nephew, Frankie Gray of Sharpsburg; great niece, Gail Hester and great nephews, Tom Watson, Eddie Harris and Ronnie Gray.

MR. WILLIAM CARL KUELTZO

Mr. William Carl Kueltzo, 90, of Newnan died Jan. 25, 1997 at Columbia Peachtree Regional Hospital.

Born Sept. 15, 1906 in Illinois, Mr. Kueltzo was the son of the late William John Kueltzo and Freda (Rohde) Kueltzo and the husband of the late Ethel (Conrad) Kueltzo. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a retired maintenance worker with General Motors.

Funeral services will be held Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Larry Trout officiating.

Survivors include his daughter, Lucille Matthews of Newnan; grandsons, Scott Matthews of Newnan, Mark Matthews of Peachtree City; sisters, Ester Ball of Sacramento, Calif., Ellis Hosman of Tinley Park, Ill.; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Zion Lutheran Church.

MRS. RACHEL McWILLIAMS PHILLIPS

Mrs. Rachel McWilliams Phillips of Wortham Road in Luthersville passed away Jan. 24, 1997 at her home.

Mrs. Phillips was the widow of N.J. Phillips. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Sellers-Smith Funeral Home in Newnan.

MRS. MARTHA WATTS PITTS

Mrs. Martha Watts Pitts, 90, of Grantville died Jan. 24, 1997 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.

Born Dec. 4, 1906 in Coweta County, Mrs. Pitts was the daughter of the late Grover and Dovie Alexander Watts. She was a lifelong resident of Grantville and was retired from Grantville Mills.

Mrs. Pitts was a member of First United Methodist Church of Grantville, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Funeral services were held Jan. 27 at First United Methodist Church in Grantville with the Rev. Kara Stalcup and the Rev. Ruth Shaw officiating. Interment followed at Grantville Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Charlie E. Pitts of Plantation, Fla.; brothers, Roy Watts of Grantville, Raymond Watts of Newnan; grandchildren, Cheryl Fell of Newnan, Ronald Pitts of Columbus, David Pitts of Key West, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren.
