MR. THOMAS RICK PERKINS

Mr. Thomas Rick Perkins, 42, of Bremen died June 18, 1997 following an auto accident.

A member of Beulah Baptist Church, Mr. Perkins was an instructor in the commercial driving program at Carroll Technical Institute. A former truck driver, he received the State Commissioner's Award of Excellence and was named the 1996 Instructor of the Year by Georgia's technical and adult education system.

Mr. Perkins was chairman of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association.

Funeral services were held June 20 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Cole and the Rev. Billy Vines officiating. Interment followed at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Donnie Lively, Dr. Stephen Richie, Robert Richie, Scott Posey, David Nails, Bruce Hurckmans and Harry Ream serving as pallbearers.

An honorary escort was provided by the Georgia Motor Trucking Association.

Survivors include his wife, Ruthie Jane Nails Perkins of Bremen; sons, Doug Perkins, Daniel Perkins of Carrollton; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Perkins of Carrollton; and brother, Bob Perkins of Carrollton.

MR. TONY WEST

Mr. Tony West of Newnan died June 13, 1997.

Funeral services were held June 17 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Wilson officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Shane Brown, Michael Roberts, Anthony Arrington, Ricky Arrington, Randy Lower and Michael Wilburn serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his father, Lloyd West of Newnan; mother, Mar. A. West of Newnan; grandmother, Alice Powers of Newnan; sister, Traci Lower of Newnan; niece, Holly Lower of Newnan and nephew, Joshua Lower of Newnan.

MR. EARNEST WOODS

Mr. Earnest Woods of Murray Street in Newnan passed away June 13, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born Jan. 22, 1942, Mr. Woods was the son of the late Andy Woods. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held June 17 at Sellers-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Rosser officiating, assisted by pastor Patricia Hill. Interment followed at Eastview Cemetery with Charles Baldwin, Ricky Sewell, Junior Sewell, Donald Sewell and Bobby Reeves serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Roger Mae Woods; children, Deborah Woods, Leon Woods, Kenny Woods; mother, Eula Mae Freeman; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Woods of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Lee Woods of Luthersville, Mr. Jerry Woods of Atlanta; sister, Rudine Sewell of Hogansville; sisters-in-law, Ruth Cato, Aretha Warner; brother-in-law, Jack Cato; and an aunt, Zora Sewell.

MR. BILL YEARWOOD

Mr. Bill Yearwood, 73, of Leigh Avenue in Newnan died June 18, 1997 in Turner County.

Born April 20, 1924 in Crawfordville, Mr. Yearwood was the son of the late George W. Yearwood Sr. and Mary Dean Yearwood. He was a member of the Baptist faith and a driver for Noles Trucking Company.

Funeral services were held June 20 at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Travis Eidson officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Harold Burks, Audie Burks, Ronald Dean, Chad Dunn, Danny Eskew and Mark Eskew serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Janette Yearwood of Newnan; sons, Don Yearwood, Terry Yearwood, both of Newnan; sister, Betty Burks of Newnan; brothers, Dexter Yearwood of Atlanta, Paul Yearwood of Macon, Oscar Yearwood of Hollywood, Fla., John Yearwood of Austell; and four grandchildren.

MRS. FRANCES DENNEY BEALL

Mrs. Frances Denney Beall, 69, of Marietta and a former resident of Hogansville died June 15, 1997 at I.H.S. Shoreham Convalescent Center in Marietta.

Born April 14, 1928 in Heard County, Mrs. Beall was the daughter of the late Chester and Eley Denney. She was a retired supervisor from McFarland Corporation in Marietta and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville.

Funeral services were held June 17 at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Brown and the Rev. Marty Few officiating. Interment followed at at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Survivors include her husband, Dorsey Beall of Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Mike McClure of Cumming; brother, Jerry Denney of Jonesboro; and granddaughter, Jennifer McClure of Cumming.

MR. JIMMY COFIELD

Mr. Jimmy Cofield, 52, of Newnan died June 15, 1997.

Originally from Upson County, Mr. Cofield was retired from Ford Motor Company in Hapeville.

Funeral services were held June 17 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Lawrenceville with the Rev. Tommy Jordan officiating. Interment followed at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Grayson.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Vickie Cofield of Sharpsburg; mother, Dadie Cofield of Snellville; grandson, Kevin Cofield of Sharpsburg; and girlfriend, Rosa Boss of Loganville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church building fund.

MR. G.B. DANIELS

Mr. G.B. Daniels, 61, of Atlanta passed away June 10, 1997 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Born May 16, 1936 in Coweta County, Mr. Daniels was a member of St. John Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held June 14 at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Horton officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery with Henry Stegall, Morris Parks and other friends serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his children, Sandra Daniels Obie, Hattie Parks, Dereck (Tracy Moore) Daniels, Eugene Daniels, Celestine Jolley, Sharon Daniels (Ricky) Morman; brothers, Coley Daniels Jr., Milton Daniels; stepson, Jackie Farmer, Steve Hunter; grandchildren, Diane, Steve, Chevella, Tequila, Dewayne, Marquita, Trevon Moore; aunts, Willie, Gladys, Dollie Mae, Hattie Jane; nieces and nephews.

Mr. Perry Hixson of Boone Drive in Newnan passed away June 14, 1997 at Columbia Peachtree Regional Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home.

Mr. John Thomas Holloway, 99, of Coweta County passed away June 12, 1997 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center.

Mr. Holloway was born Aug. 1, 1896.

Funeral services were held June 16 at The Church of God in Christ in Turin with elder Joseph Scandrick officiating. Interment followed in Elder's Cemetery with friends serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Mayo of Sharpsburg; nieces; nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Ruth Housworth of Newnan died June 14 at Newnan Hospital.

Graveside services were held June 16 at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Travis Eidson officiating.

Survivors include her nephews, Charles Story of Newnan, Kenny Story of Roopville and four great-nieces.

Mrs. Christine Nations of Newnan died June 11, 1997 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
