MR. RALPH SHROPSHIRE

Mr. Ralph Shropshire of Palmetto passed away June 5, 1997 at South Fulton Hospital in Atlanta. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

MR. TIMOTHY BRUCE BOORN JR.

Mr. Timothy Bruce Boorn Jr., 26, of Newnan died May 28, 1997 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta from injuries suffered in an auto accident.

Born Feb. 12, 1971 in Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Boorn was an electrical engineer.

Funeral services were held May 30 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Searcy Jackson officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn M. Boorn of Newnan, parents, Timothy Bruce Boorn Sr. and Carol Ann (Johnson) Boorn; grandparents, Harold Boorn and Lucille Figg, of Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Johnson of Hartwell; sister and brothers-in-law, Scott and Lori Reinhardt of Auburn, Ga.; and uncle, Ken Johnson.

MR. B. WALKER BOSWELL

Mr. B. Walker Boswell, 88, of Hogansville died May 30, 1997 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

Born May 17, 1909 in Moreland, Mr. Boswell was the son of the late Benjamin and Zelona Martin Boswell. He was a member and former Sunday school superintendent of Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville and a former member of the Hogansville Kiwanis club and the Hogansville Housing Authority.

Mr. Boswell served as manager of Henson Furniture Company in Hogansville and was a member of the Hogansville Masonic Lodge. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War Two.

Funeral services were held June 1 at Highland Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Brown and the Rev. Bobby Boswell officiating. Interment followed at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville with Rob Boswell, Matt Boswell, Paul Boswell, Kevin Boswell, Charles Prather and Bill Cook serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Cook Boswell of Hogansville; sons, the Rev. Bobby Boswell of Lawrenceville, Belvin Boswell of Pasadena, Texas, Charles Boswell of Manchester, Dan Boswell of Newnan, Lester Boswell of Morrow; daughter, Ann Teate of Olata, Kan.; sisters, Geni Reese, Lois Puckett, both of Newnan; Louise Ozmore of Grantville; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

MR. JAMES O'NEAL BRITT

Mr. James O'Neal Britt, 45, of Newnan passed away May 28, 1997 in Roanoke, Va.

Born Oct. 27, 1951 in Newnan, Mr. Britt was the son of the late Samuel Hall.

Funeral services were held June 2 at Sellers-Smith Funeral Home with evangelist Gloristein Arnold officiating, assisted by the Rev. R.W. Sutton. Interment followed at Eastview Cemetery with Rick Hall, Bruce Truitt, Norris Hall, Donnie Hall, William Johnson and Billy Smith serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Youlon Britt; daughters, Valorie Britt, Crystal Dennis, Antonio Green, all of Newnan; son, Anthony Britt of Newnan; god-children, Stephanie Johnson, William Johnson Jr.; mother, Eloise Britt; sisters, Roshelle Freeman of Newnan, Josephine Smith of Atlanta; brothers, Norris Hall, Donnie Hall, Samuel Hall, Robert Lee Jackson, all of Newnan; six grandchildren; two god-grandchildren; aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews.

MRS. CLAUDIA BUCHANAN

Mrs. Claudia Buchanan, 85, of Moreland died May 29, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born Oct. 8, 1911 in Heard County, Mrs. Buchanan was a member of Gordon Road Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by Matt Adams and Martha Thrower Adams.

Funeral services were held May 31 at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mansel Carpenter officiating. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery in Heard County with Jack Wade, Billy Norton, Wiley Wade, Cliff Haines, Rick Norton, Robby Smith and Milton Norton serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughters, Irene Norton, Florence Wade, Mary Ann Bolling, all of Moreland; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

MRS. HAZEL STATON GADDY

Mrs. Hazel Staton Gaddy, 80, of Joe Brown Road in Newnan died May 30, 1997 at her home.

Born April 16, 1917 in Marlboro, S.C., she was a member of Dillon First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services were held June 3 at Dillon First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie Reid of Newnan; sister, Chelsey McCall of Clarksville, Tenn.; granddaughters, Lisa Lee, Mary Ann Reed, both of Newnan; and great-grandchildren, Lindsey Lee, Hunter Lee, both of Newnan.

MRS. LUZORA CARTER HARDWICK

Mrs. Luzora Carter Hardwick, 82, of Newnan died May 25, 1997 at Starcrest Nursing Home.

Born April 9, 1915 in Coweta County, Mrs. Hardwick was the daughter of the late George Washington Carter and Margie Grimes Carter and the widow of Henry Hardwick.

For years, Mrs. Hardwick lived in Atlanta. When she returned to Newnan, she rejoined Mt. Sanai Baptist Church where she served in the choir.

Funeral services were held May 27 at Sellers-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Dana Graham officiating, assisted by the Rev. Rufus Smith, the Rev. James Alexander and the Rev. Harvelle Smith Sr. Interment followed at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with the Mt. Sanai Board of Deacons serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her sister, Margie A. Smith; brother, Melvin Carter Sr. of Newnan; sisters-in-law, Zebra Carter, Ethel Mae Carter of Newnan; nieces and nephews.

MRS. MARY LIZA 'SAL' HERNDON

Mrs. Mary Lee "Sal" Herndon, 76, of Mary Jane Road in Newnan died May 26, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born Aug. 15, 1920 in Meriwether County, Mrs. Herndon was a member of Clark Chapel United Methodist Church in Luthersville. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Amey.

Funeral services were held May 29, 1997 at Clark Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. J.T. Coleman officiating, assisted by the Rev. Nathan Teagle and the Rev. Jerome Teagle. Interment followed at New Bethel Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her husband, Nathaniel Herndon; step-mother, Margaret Banks; daughters, the Rev. and Mrs. Charlie Frank (Georgia Mae) Teagle, Lucy Ann Herndon, Betty Jean Geter, Martha Ann Langford, Mary Louise Sinkfield; sons, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph (Mary Ruth) Amey; Joe N. Herndon, Bobby Herndon; step-daughter, Danderene Smith; sister, Wyvonnia; brother, Carl L. Strozier; sister-in-law, Sallie M. Strozier, Mary Jane Teagle, Easter Mae Teagle, Henrietta Gates, Sara Herndon, Mae Ona Maddox, Julia Robinson; brothers-in-law, Willie Teagle, Willie Henry Herndon, the Rev. E. Maddox; 45 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Marie Jordan passed away June 1, 1997 at Newnan Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

MR. RICHARD L. McGUIRE SR.

Mr. Richard L. McGuire Sr., 57, of Luthersville died May 30, 1997 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

Born Oct. 10, 1939 in Turner County, Mr. McGuire was the son of the late Luther and Ida Mae Summer McGuire. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired construction worker.

Funeral services were held June 2 at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Franklin Walden officiating. Interment followed at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda Bell McGuire of Luthersville; sons, Richard Lee McGuire Jr. of Luthersville, James Gregory McGuire of Alvaton, Wendell Franklin McGuire Sr. of Forest Park; brothers, Tommy McGuire of Wimauma, Fla., L.M. McGuire Jr. of Clarkesville, Billy McGuire, Raymond McGuire, both of Atlanta; and nine grandchildren.

MRS. SARA PIKE

Mrs. Sara Pike, 65, of Spence Avenue in Newnan died May 29, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Bron June 7, 1931 in Carroll County, Mrs. Pike was the daughter of the late Eural and Margaret Gaddy Blankenship. She was a retired textiles worker and a member of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held May 31 at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Calhoun officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ed Helton. Interment followed at Westminster Gardens in Peachtree City with Jeff Norton, Chase Caldwell, Tammy Parlier, Jack Chessner, Lamar Arrington and Lance Diment serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her son, Lee Stamps of Newnan; daughter, Ann Lamontagne of Roxboro, N.C.; sister, Joyce Hammond of Newnan; brothers, Earl Blankenship of Franklin, Donald Blankenship, James Blankenship, Donnie Blankenship, all of Newnan; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

MR. WILLIE ROBERT TENNEY

Mr. Willie Robert Tenney, 46, of Primrose Road in Grantville passed away May 29, 1997 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Born Jan. 10, 1951, Mr. Tenney was the son of the late Lela Pearl Tenney. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Luthersville.

Funeral services were held May 31, 1997 at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Luthersville with the Rev. D.L. Driver officiating, assisted by the Rev. G.L. Lawrence, the Rev. M. Ackey and the Rev. E.J. O'Neal. Interment followed at the church cemetery with her coworkers at the Mead Company serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Tenney: daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Stacy) Tucker; sons, Willie Robert Tenney Jr., Printis Tenney; grandchildren, Brittany Tucker and Richard Tucker Jr.; father, Robert Lee Tenney; sisters, Mr. and Mrs. James (Marie) Simuel; Doris Godfrey, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar (Sarah) Parks, Mr. and Mrs. Homer (Mary) McKee, Vernita Tenney, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery (Marcia) Brook; brother, Charles Tenney, father-in-law, John Reeves; sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles;nieces and nephews.

MRS. LEOLA D. WILLINGHAM

Mrs. Leola D. Willingham, 82, of the Lone Oak community in Meriwether County died May 30, 1997 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

Born Oct. 6, 1914 in Meriwether County, Mrs. Willingham was the daughter of the late Starks and Nell Denney Daniel and the widow of Russell F. Willingham. She was a member of Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church and was retired from Uniroyal Inc. in Hogansville.

Funeral services were held June 1 at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry McCurdy and the Rev. Karl Hunter officiating. Interment followed at Allen-Lee Memorial Methodist Church Cemetery with Kevin Willingham, Frank Willingham, Joel Nivens, Pat Nivens, Fred Willingham Jr., and Marshall Lee serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her sons Russell L. Willingham of Hogansville, Marvin Willingham of Hamilton; sisters, Patra Massey , Helen Massey, both of Lone Oak, Eva Cribb of Carrollton, Myra Nell Wofford of Covington; brothers, J.C. Daniel of Hogansville, Alfred Daniel of Lone Oak; grandchildren, Kevin Willingham, Natalie Willingham, both of Cumming, Frank Willingham, Caroline Nivens, both of Hogansville; and four great-grandchildren.
