Cloey Herring
Cloey Herring, age 37, of Locust Grove, Georgia died June 4, 2007. Mrs. Herring was born November 3, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of Southside Christian Fellowship, where she loved to worship. She liked oil painting, dancing, singing, and gardening. But most important to her was her relationship with Jesus, her husband, her children, and her church family.
She is survived by her husband, John Paul Herring; children, Johnny Herring, Emily Herring, Samuel Herring, and Daniel Herring, all of Locust Grove; father, William Sowder of Sandy Springs; mother, Annette Sowder of Marietta; and brother, Hans Sowder of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Services were held June 7 at Southside Christian Fellowship, with Rev. Eddie Mason officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Park. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Joe Ann Watts
Joe Ann Watts, age 83, of Locust Grove, Georgia died June 6, 2007. Mrs. Watts was born in Princeton, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Joseph Augustine and Pearl Laverta Howery Lucas. She was very active with the Heritage Senior Center in McDonough. She was an 8 year member of BSF International of Conyers, and a member of the DAR and Daughters of the Confederacy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Watts.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Marcia Watts of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Ray, Natalie, Afton, and Isaac Watts; and great-granddaughter, Ashley Watts.
Services were held June 9 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Pastor David King officiating. Interment Melwood Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Dennis Blake Lane
Dennis Blake Lane, age 39, of Stockbridge, Georgia died June 6, 2007. Mr. Lane was born in East Point. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars, camping and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Lane.
He is survived by his mother, Norma Lane; children, Ashley Amber Lane, Dennis Blake Lane II, and Cierra Gayle Lane, all of Stockbridge; brothers, James Christopher Lane of Alpharetta, David Ross Lane of Stock-bridge; and one grandaughter.
Services will be held June 9 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Dan Holley officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Sandra Morris
Sandra Morris, age 59, of McDonough, Georgia died June 8, 2007. Mrs. Morris was born September 26, 1947 in Atlanta, and was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in McDonough. She enjoyed shopping, decorating, watching her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Williams and Susan Lankford, both of McDonough; grandchildren, Robbie, Mat-thew, Kyle, Joseph, Randie Leigh, Logan.
Services were held June 11 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Andrew Ragan officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Ralph G. Price, Jr.
Ralph G. Price, Jr., age 63, of McDonough, Georgia died May 16, 2007. Mr. Price was born in Atlanta, the son of the late Ralph Gleaton and Lessie Elise Chambers Price, Sr. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union 72. He was a caring and loving father and a dedicated son who cared for his mother until her death.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Marie Tidwell of Oak Point, Texas, April Christine Price of Loganville; son, James Ralph Price of Lithonia; and five grandchildren.
Services were held May 19 at Fairfield Baptist Church in Demorest, with Rev. Keith Allison officiating. Interment Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery. Those who wish may sign the registry at www.cannonclevelandfunerals.com. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

William Andrew Smith
William Andrew (Billy) Smith, age 64, of Locust Grove, Georgia died May 18, 2007. Mr. Smith was born in Henry County, the son of the late William Andrew Garnett and Cora May Copeland Smith. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; was of the Baptist faith; and retired after over 27 years with the Ford Motor Company.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joan Simmons Smith; children, Robin Pickens, Andy East, Sherry Scott, Bonnie Nipper, Katrina East; grandchildren, Christy Smith, Dylan Smith, Drew East, Hunter East, Avery East, L.T. Scott, Dayo Scott, Peaches Scott; and sister, Clara Jean Cardell.
Services were held May 22 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Terrell Hopkins officiating. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ernest Avery Barham
Ernest Avery “Abe” Barham, age 77, of McDonough, Georgia died May 18, 2007. Mr. Barham was born in McDonough, the son of the late Tom A. and Thelma Elizabeth Barnette Barham. He served in the National Guard and retired from the Civil Service. He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Paul Barham.
He is survived by his wife of 49
years, Doshia Bevil Barham of McDonough; son, Keith Barham of Rex; daughter, Karen Watson of Canton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 21 at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, with Dr. Mark Outlaw and Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

William B. McDonnell
William B. McDonnell (better known as Mr. Ben) was born in Rosboro, Arkansas February 14, 1927. He was one of eight children. He spoke fondly of times in his childhood in this small sawmill town. His father worked in the sawmill and his family raised chickens and pigs and had a large garden. He joined the Navy and served during WWII. He married Alice Louise Tiemann February 11, 1958 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He worked for United Gas as an accountant and retired from there. He also helped start a church in New Iberia, Louisiana. After retiring from United Gas, he went to work for Wal-Mart in Harvey, Louisiana until Hurricane Katrina, at which time he moved to Stockbridge and lived with his daughter and son-in-law. He transferred to the Stockbridge Wal-Mart where he retired in December of 2006 after 16 years of service. He loved sitting on the front porch watching the birds and squirrels, and the New Orleans Saints, enjoyed cornbread and buttermilk and his favorite television viewing was the History Channel. He was a strong Democrat. Mr. Ben was a kind and peaceful man who loved his family and spending time with them. But most of all he loved Jesus.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Alice McDonnell; daughter, Debra (Tony) Dick; and son, William R. McDonnell, all of Stockbridge; granddaughter, Naomi Leader of Locust Grove; grandson, Nathan St. Pierre of Evansville, Indiana; sisters, Virginia Lynch of Shreveport, Louisiana, Nelma Brown of Houston, Texas; brothers, Gerald McDonnell of Shreveport, Louisiana, Ronald McDonnell of Bossier City, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Abigail St. Pierre of Evansville, Indiana, Gage Leader of Locust Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 21 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Brooks Everett officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors

William Allan Jones
William Allan “Bill” Jones, age 52, of McDonough, Georgia died May 23, 2007. Mr. Jones was born in East Point, the son of the late William Joshua and Ruby Irene Darnell Jones. Following in his father’s footsteps he became a master locksmith. He was an owner and operator for over 30 years and started numerous businesses in the Atlanta area. He was a very good teacher of the trade, always sharing information with other people in the business. He devoted all of his time to his trade.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Fulcher Jones; sons, Daniel Wesley Barber Jr., and William Joshua Jones, all of McDonough; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Bill Cheshire?of Jessup; nephews, Scott and Jamie Rowell; and several great-nephews.
Services were held May 25 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with retired Captain, Chaplain Harry Jones, officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Vernon Edwin Stewart
Rev. Vernon Edwin Stewart, better known to his family as Ralph Bear, Cowboy, Daddy, Poppy and Pa Pa, died May 26, 2007. Rev. Stewart was born in Pampa, Texas, the son of the late Amy Oron Hancock and Vernon Elias Stewart. He loved his Lord, wife and family, his church and church family, the rodeo, hunting, fishing and raising grapes. He served his Lord as a pastor for 45 plus years and had been the pastor at Grace Community Fellowship for 10 plus years. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lacie Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 plus years, Celia Stewart of Locust Grove; children, Tim and Jana Stewart of Newnan, Charmaine Stewart Smith and husband Mitchell of Locust Grove, Joy Beth Stewart of Hampton; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Joyce Ragsdale of Dumas, Texas.
Services were held May 30 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Dr. Ira Slade and Pastor Chris Reynolds officiating. Interment Rose Garden Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
