Carl P. Barney
Carl P. Barney, age 76, of McDonough, Georgia died January 30, 2007. Mr. Barney was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Carleton Proctor and Catherine Viola Roberts Barney. He was an avid wood worker and enjoyed all types of racing, especially NASCAR. He was a baseball and football coach, and served as the Jonesboro Area Athletic Association President for three years. But the greatest joy in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Barney; sons, Terrence P. Cogan of Fairburn, Patrick J. (Kathi) Cogan of Stockbridge, Chris S. (Rhonda) Barney of Alpharetta; daughter, Kathleen C. (Kelly) Harris of McDonough; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Etta F. Kobres Reteneller
Etta F. Kobres Reteneller of Ellenwood, Georgia died February 1, 2007. Ms. Reteneller was a member of Ellenwood First Baptist Church and a lifetime Executive of Women International.
She is survived by her nephews, Matthew David Ford and James Craig Ford.
Services were held February 3 at
Forest Hills Cemetery in Forest Park, with Rev. Dale Parker officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Family Connection Partnership, 235 Peachtree St., Suite 1600, Atlanta Georgia, 30303. Horis A. Ward Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Burlin Ray Delaney
Burlin Ray Delaney, age 79, of McDonough, Georgia died February 1, 2007. Mr. Delaney was born July 12, 1927 in Rosemont, West Virginia, the son of the late Francis F. and Nancy Jane Delaney. He was retired from the US Air Force and US Postal Service. He was a loving family man, enjoyed people and his dog, Wags. He enjoyed working, and was very mechanically inclined. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deborah Delaney; brothers, Ellis, Spencer and Dallas Delaney; and a grandchild, Donald Delaney.
He is suvived by his wife, Nelda Kidd Delaney of McDonough; children, Robert Delaney of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Donald Delaney of Mountain Home, Tennessee, Nancy and Gene Evans of McDonough; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Rogers of Charleston, West Virginia; nieces and nephews.
Services were held February 5 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Barry Garland officiating. Interment Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Canton. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Donald Allen Brawders
Donald Allen Brawders, age 74, of Locust Grove, Georgia died February 1, 2007. Mr. Brawders was born February 24, 1932 in Brockton, Massachusetts, the son of the late Emily Gogis and Edward F. Brawders. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro; he served his country in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955, and graduated from Babson Institute with a BA degree. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, an honorable man who enjoyed people and doing for others, he was an avid bird lover, enjoyed gardening and having a granddog.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Pearl Brawders of Locust Grove; children, Diana Brawders of Stockbridge, David Brawders of Snellville, Jennings (Jay) Chestnut II of Hartsville, South Carolina, Dwayne Chestnut of Bradenton, Florida, and Theresa Anderson of Richmond, Virginia, 10 grandchildren; brother, Edward Brawders of Stoughton, Massachusetts; nieces and nephews.
Services were held February 4 at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, with Dr. Dean Haun officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mervyn James Crawford
Mervyn James (Jim) Crawford, age 76, of Canton, Georgia died January 19, 2007. Mr. Crawford was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the son of the late Thomas and Ethel Colvin Crawford. He loved to travel and be with his family. He retired from Delta Airlines after 36 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Crawford; daughters, Leslie Harvey of Rex, Jane Hamilton of McDonough; sons, Thomas Crawford of Steuben, Maine, Steven Crawford of Brunswick, Maine; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Milton Kidd
Milton Kidd, age 80, of McDonough, Georgia died January 21, 2007. Mr. Kidd was born in Double Springs, Alabama, the son of the late Aaron Marvin and Mona Bonds Kidd. He was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the McDonough Church of Christ, where he was instrumental in starting the McDonough Congregation. He served the church as shepard, elder, deacon, pastor, and his colleagues called him "the Dreamer." He retired as an educator with the Clayton County Board of Education after 38 years. His favorite thing in teaching was track. He served 10 years at the capitol, starting as a security officer and later as secretary with the legislative building. He loved to hunt, garden, and ride his tractor. But most of all he was a very dedicated family man.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Marilyn Whittaker of Hampton, Deborah Anita Clark of Seymour, Tennessee, Milton L. Kidd, Jr. of McDonough; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; twin brother, William Floris Kidd of Dallas, Texas; and sister, Myra Greeson of Winchester, Tennessee.
Services were held January 26, at McDonough Church of Christ, with Minister Jeff Wilder and Minister J.J. Turner officiating. June Salyers Johnson
June Salyers Johnson, age 75, of McDonough, Georgia formerly of Woodstock, Connecticut and Port Charlotte, Florida died January 21, 2007. Mrs. Johnson was born March 13, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Charles Allen and Ethel Mae Conover Salyers. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church; enjoyed quilting, sewing, spending time with her grandchildren; and was very artistic. She was preceded in death by her children, Charles Johnson, Larry Johnson, Marilyn Johnson; a daughter-in-law; two grandchildren; and siblings, Charles, David, Tom, Nancy, Anne and George.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Johnson of McDonough; children and spouses, Mary and Ed Baranski of Woodstock, Connecticut, Bill and Kathy Johnson of Oneonta, New York, Ted and Patty Johnson of Hampton, Joel and Sandy Johnson of Dayton, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Bernie Lundstrom; and brother, John Salyers, all of Chicago, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held January 26 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Andrew Ragan officiating. Please make contributions to Habitat for Humanity or the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Mrs. Johnson. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Buddy C. Parris, Sr.
Buddy C. Parris, Sr., age 72, of McDonough, Georgia, formerly of Woodstock died January 24, 2007. Mr. Parris was born October 10, 1934 in Paintertown, the son of the late William Stanton and Effie Carolyn Queen Parris. He retired after 26 years with Norfolk-Southern Railroad; was of the Baptist faith; and had been a greeter at the McDonough Wal-Mart. He was preceded in death by a son, Buddy C. Parris, Jr.; a brother, Denny Parris; a sister, Linda Parris; and a son-in-law, Adrian Kirk III.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sylvia Jean Parris of McDonough; children and spouses, Becky and Joe Padgett and Stephanie Kirk, all of Canton, Joel Parris of Marietta, Mitzie and Frank Swirk of Cumming; stepchildren, Tony and Barbara Perkins of Stockbridge, Rusty Perkins of McDonough; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, William and Blanche Parris of White, Tom and Glenda Parris of Kennesaw, Joanne and Billy Towe of Copper Hill, Tennessee, Mary West of Buford, Corrine and Gerald Ledford of Wolf Creek, North Carolina, Brenda and Ron Gore of Marietta; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services were held January 26 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. William Mueller and Rev. Jim Waddle officiating. Interment Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Robert E. Desrosiers
Robert E. Desrosiers, age 80, of Stockbridge, Georgia died January 24, 2007. Mr. Desrosiers was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, the son of the late Albert and Evelyn Desrosiers. Mr. Desrosiers served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Italy during WWII, where he served as an interpreter, speaking fluent French, Italian and English. He was retired from Florshiem Shoe Company and the Dallas Morning News. He was an avid sports fan and a baseball enthusiast. But most important he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Evelyn Desrosiers; daughters, Patricia Matthews of Dallas, Texas, Michele Carter, of Cumming; son, David Desrosiers of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Tamara Baldwin of Stockbridge, Rachel, Michael, and Kyle Desrosiers, all of Arlington, Texas; and great-grandson, Braeden Baldwin of Stock-bridge.
