Johnny L. Brady
Mr. Johnny L. Brady, 49, of Wrens died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005.

Mr. Brady, a native of Jefferson County, was the son of the late Willie and Mary Alice Cunningham Brady. At an early age he joined the Eden Baptist Church and later joined Praise Deliverance Egangelistic. He was a retired logger.

The funeral was Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. at Praise Deliverance Evangelistic Church with Pastor Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Eden Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Hales Brady; stepchildren, Brenda Hales and Timothy Hales, Ft. Myers, Fla.; sisters, Mary B. Walden and Luretha Brady, Augusta; brothers, George Steve Brady, Augusta, and James Edward Brady, Swainsboro; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, two aunts, several nieces, nephews, cousins including Matthew Sims, Louisville, and other relatives.

Davis Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Marian Bridges Fennell
Mrs. Marian Bridges Fennell, 76, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at University Hospital in Louisville.

Mrs. Fennell, a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, was a homemaker. She was a member of the Wrens Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Emory Fennell.

The funeral was Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Wrens Church of God with the Revs. Terry Addis, Eugene Evors and Chaplain Hugh Tarcai officiating. Burial was in the Louisville City Cemetery.

Survivors include two children, Lewis Evans and Stephanie Bridges, Charlotte, N.C., and Eileen and Gary Hutchens, Bartow; two step-daughters, Paula and Tony Gross, Augusta, and Martha and Vernon Gideons, Augusta; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ernie Smith, Gary Usry, Clark Hiebert, Larry Bridges, Wallace Hadden and Frankie Hartley.

Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Maggie Combs Hilton
Mrs. Maggie Combs Hilton, 82, of Louisville died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005.

Mrs. Hilton, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of the Greater St. Matthews A.M.E. Church where she served as class leader, the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Benevolent Society and for many years as a member of the Community Rosemary Sewing Club. She was the daughter of the late Casper Sr. and Carrie Young Combs.

The funeral was Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Greater St. Matthews AME Church with the Rev. David Walker officiating. Burial was in the Chorus Delion/Benevolent Society.

Survivors include her son, Johnie Hilton, Columbia, S.C.; her siblings, Casper Combs Jr., Hattie C. Boatwright and Willie Curtis, all of Louisville; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Davis Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ruby Amerson Johnson
Mrs. Ruby Amerson Johnson, 88, of Gibson died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005.

Mrs. Johnson, a native of Mitchell, was a life-long resident of the Belvedere-Augusta area having made Gibson her home for the past two years. She was a member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church and retired from the lunch room at Sego Middle School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fleming F. Johnson, and a son, Sgt. Bobby A. Johnson, USMC, Retired.

The funeral was Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home with Dr. William L. Owens and the Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial was in Pineview Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include three daughters, Frankie Simms, North Augusta, Faye Blankenship, Candler, N.C., and Carol Hett, Graniteville; two sisters, Annie Amerson Wilder, Belvedere, and Jean Amerson Whitaker, Statesboro; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Wendell Amerson, Billy Smith, Stan Wilder, Michael Wilder, Jeff Hadden and Ted Flanders.

Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home of North Augusta was in charge of the arrangements.

Christine P. Lewis
Mrs. Christine P. Lewis of Augusta died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at University Hospital in Augusta.

The funeral was Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. at Light of the World Church with Pastor Roy Brown and Pastor Dwayne Tillman officiating. Burial will be in Stone Springfield AME Church Cemetery in Wrens.

Survivors include two sons, Lillie Bell Patterson, Augusta; five brothers, Smith Patterson Jr., Arthur Lee Patterson, Richard Patterson, Augusta, Robert Patterson, Wrightsville, and Milton Patterson, Atlanta; an aunt, Jessie Bell Farmer, Wrens; and several other relatives.

Williams Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Jewell Anderson Mosley
Mrs. Jewell Anderson Mosley, 78, of Louisville died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at University Hospital.

Mrs. Mosley, a native of Johnson County, is the daughter of the late Eva Powell and Manning Anderson. She was a retired inspector for Delilah Manufacturing Company.

Graveside services were Jan. 6 at 2:30 p.m. at Louisville City Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Wiggins officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis C. Mosley, Louisville; a daughter, Vicky McEwen, Acworth; a son, Keith Mosley, Louisville; a sister, Ethel Caraway, Augusta; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 2951 Flowers Road South, Suite 211, Atlanta, GA 30341.

Southern Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mervin H. Williams
Mr. Mervin H. Williams, 81, of Augusta died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at University Hospital in Augusta.

Mr. Williams, a native of Jefferson County, was the son of the late William Homer and Alma Hadden Williams. He was retired from Georgia Power after 40 years, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of Fleming Baptist Church. He was predeceased by three brothers, G.T. Williams, Everett Williams and Jack Williams, and one sister, Elizabeth W. McGahee.

Graveside services were Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Billy Atkins officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Polk Williams, Augusta; one son, Charles Mervin Williams, Allen, Texas; one brother, Bob Williams, Yorktown, Va.; three sisters, Betty W. Pennington, Matthews, Edith Williams, Jacksonville, Fla., and Catherine W. Newsome, Augusta; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Service Center, Clark Mill Road, Louisville, GA 30434.

Poteet Funeral Home, Augusta, was in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Neal Dye
Mrs. Mary Neal Dye, 86, of Warrenton died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Houston, Texas.

Mrs. Dye was a native of Glascock County. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Maxie Dye.

Graveside services were held Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. at the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tony L. Key officiating.

Survivors include one son, Maxie Neal Dye, Spring, Texas.

Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Aletha Webb Moye
Mrs. Aletha Webb Moye of Bartow died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004.

The funeral was Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at Tarvers Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Wiggins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Courtney Moye; her mother, Mildred Webb, Bartow; five sisters, Annie Dorothy Davis and Loretta Gilmore, Louisville, Sandra Evans, Augusta, Betty Petrillo, Irving, Texas, and Betty Williams, Wadley; and one brother, Bobby Webb, Augusta.

Hudson Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.

Adel Brown Noble
Mrs. Adel Brown Noble of Wrens died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, in Philadelphia, Pa.

Mrs. Noble was a native of Jefferson County.

The funeral was Jan. 8 at 8 a.m. at the Millennium Baptist Church in Philadelphia.

Survivors include one sister, Marie Lane, Wrens; one brother, Lorin Brown, Los Angeles, Calif.; several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and other realtives. Julian Hawkins Funeral Home, Philadelphia, was in charge of the arrangements. Freeman Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Mabel Rambeau Prichard
Mrs. Mabel Rambeau Prichard, 91, of Tennille, formerly of Louisville, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Washington County Regional Medical Center, Sandersville.

Mrs. Prichard, a native of Dyersburg, Tenn., had been a school teacher in the Dyers County School System and a substitute teacher for the Jefferson County School System. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is predeceased by her husband, W.M. Pritchard.

Graveside services will be Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Louisville City Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Pam P. Beckum, Aiken, SC; a son, Phil Prichard, Tennille; sisters, Nell Lane and Sarah Harrison, Dyersburg, Tenn.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

May and Smith Funeral Home, Sandersville, is in charge of the arrangements.

E.D. Thompson
Mr. E.D. Thompson, 75, of Thomson died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.

Mr. Thompson, a native of Waynesboro, was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church where he was a Trustee and Deacon Emeritus. He was a member of the Thomson Lions Club and the Telephone Company Pioneers. He was retired from Southern Bell after many years of service.

The funeral was Jan. 2 at 3 p.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Garvin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Thompson; four sons, Thomas Lee Thompson and Bruce Thompson, both of Thomson, Glynn Thompson, Gibson, and Rodney Thompson, Dearing; one brother, Enon Thompson, North Augusta, S.C.; one sister, Mardrie Toole, North Augusta; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Donald Toole, Tommy Feagin, Carl Feagin, Brian Hight, William Bryant Swan Jr., Jimmy Sisson, Herman Thompson and Martin Thompson.

Memorials may be made to Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Kirk Moye
Mr. Kirk Moye, 44, of Thomson died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

Mr. Moye, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of the Pierce Grove Baptist Church. He was a 1978 graduate of Louisville High School and was employed at Advance Auto.

The funeral was Dec. 31 at 1 p.m. at the Pierce Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny R. Samson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his son, Courtney L. Moye, Thomson; his mother, Nettie McKinnie Moye, Wadley; siblings, Calvin Moye, Jacksonville, Fla., Cassandra (William) Payton, Sandersville and Katie (James) Williams, Wadley; god sister Nettie Heggs, god brothers, Delfin Sherrod and Larry Martin; uncles and aunts, Ezra Flounory and Claudia McKinnie, Wadley, Annie McKinney, Bartow, Grady (Dorothy) Moye, Elnora McGruder and Theotis (Ruth) Moye, Louisville, Elex McKinnie, Midville, Gloria (James) Seays, Detroit, Mattie (Issac) Flounoy, Eunice Butcher and Betty J. Goldsbery, Deleware, Nellie Hilton, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other realtives.
