Hattie Marie Rachel-Harris
Ms. Hattie Marie Rachel-Harris, 44, of Orlando, Fla., died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Orlando Medical Center.

Ms. Rachel was a native of Jefferson County. She was a member of Blount Chapel Baptist Church and employed at Universal Studios. She was the daughter of Mr. John Rachel and the late Louvenia Walker Rachel.

The funeral will be June 17 at 5 p.m. at Blount Chapel Baptist Church and Sand Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Corey Harris, Augusta, Gregory Rachel and Kerry Harris, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; granddaughter, Diamond Harris, Ft. Lauderdale; father and stepmother, John and Dorothy Rachel, Mass.; sisters, Sherry (Michael) Cody, Louisville, Lucinda (James) Williams, Rosie, Connie (Herbert) Davis, LaKeyshia Dennine Rachel, Fall River, Mass., JaNae Marice Rachel, Fla., Wendell (Kesha) Rachel, Rock Hill, S.C., Lester Wright, Germany; and several other relatives.

Davis Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

James T. Boyd
Mr. James T. Boyd, 91, of Stapleton died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at MCG Hospital in Augusta.

Mr. Boyd was educated in Stapleton Public School and a special course in farm management.

He served in the US Army as a tech sergeant in the 39th Photo Ren Squadron during World War II.

He was a member of American Legion Post 229.

He was a retired farmer, rural mail carrier and security guard from Georgia Tennessee Mining and Chemical Corp.

He was a member of Stapleton Baptist Church where he served more than 50 years as a deacon, Asst. Sunday School Superintendent and a clerk and treasurer.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Boyd, and two sisters, Nellie Boyd and Jenibel Boyd.The funeral was Dec. 22 at 11 a.m. at Stapleton Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Daniel officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.Survivors include two sisters, Lillian B. Stacy and Julia B. Maher; a sister-in-law, Rebie Boyd; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.Pallbearers were nephews.Memorials may be made to Stapleton Baptist Church Building Fund, 360 Harvey St., Stapleton, GA 30823.

Thomas L. Huffman
Mr. Thomas L. Huffman, 76, of Augusta died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at University Hospital.

Mr. Huffman was a native of Grovetown and had resided in Hephzibah for the past 28 years.

He was retired from CSX Railroad with over 30 years of service.

He was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class.

The funeral was Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Revs. Elliott Fulmer, Kenneth Garvin and Lloyd C. Green officiating.

Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.Survivors include his wife, Myrtle H. Huffman; daughters, Loretta Shelko-Percival, Parksville, SC, and Vickie E. Shelko, Augusta; sons, Thomas Glenn Huffman, Martinez, and Kenny Huffman, Pa.; his mother, Viola Sweatman; three grandsons and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Norton, Lamar Holley, Robert Holley, Clarence Holley, Jimmy Percival and Sammy Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers were the CSX Railroad Men and the Men’s Sunday School Class of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1105 Furys Lane, Augusta, GA 30907, or to the National Kidney Foundation, 1655 Tullie Circle, Suite 111, Atlanta, GA 30329.

Jake S. Landrum
Mr. Jake S. Landrum, 85, of Gibson died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at MCG Hospital in Augusta.

Mr. Landrum was a native and life-long resident of Glascock County.

He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and First Baptist Church of Aiken.

Graveside services were Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery, Gibson, with Pastor Adrian Burrall officiating.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne and Carol Landrum, Gibson, and Denny and Linda Landrum, Spartanburg, SC; one daughter, Donna Pearson, Gibson; one sister, Ethel Davis, Thomson; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Sheppard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Alma Ruth Onley
Mrs. Alma Ruth Onley, 52, of Stapleton died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at Eisenhower Hospital.Mrs. Onley was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Horeb UMC.

The funeral was Dec. 24 at 3 p.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Studdard officiating.Survivors include her husband, Harlan Onley; a son, Andrew Onley; two daughters, Tammy Palmore and Linda Palmore; one brother, Don Prickett; five sisters, Martha Tobias, Judy Flake, Ellen Swint, Betty Prickett and Ann Unruh; two granddaughters; stepchildren, Donna James, Janet Watts, David Onley, Dianne Onley and John Onley; 18 nephews, 12 nieces, eight step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Tobias, Scottie Prickett, Larry Prickett, Andy Prickett, Alvin Unruh and Henry Flake.

James Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Audrey “Audie” Russell
Miss Audrey “Audie” Russell, 85, of Wrens died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Gibson Nursing Home.

Miss Russell was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and was retired from the dietary department at Wrens High School.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Josie Russell; her brothers, A.P. Russell and Milledge Russell; and two sisters, Melvis Parish and Virginia Vaughn.

Graveside services were Dec. 24 at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Elliott Fulmer officiating.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Justin Russell, Lance Garvin, Bradley Rabitsch, Brantley Vaughn, Wayne Howes and James Rhodes.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Cemetery Fund, Greg Holley, P.O. Box 563, Wrens, GA 30833.

Lottie Mae Thompson
Mrs. Lottie Mae Thompson of Louisville died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006.

Mrs. Thompson, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church, a Missionary, and a member of the Morning Star and Fair and Honest Societies.

The funeral was Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. at Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church and Cemetery with the Revs. Abraham Gibbons and Fredrick Ricks officiating.

Survivors include her children as well as grandchildren that she reared as her own; Georgia Mae Stone, Doris (Willie Lee) Tennyson, Jennie Gamble, Oscar (Louise) Thompson, John Wesley Thompson, Louisville, Ronnie (Sophia) Thompson, Augusta; Horace (Marilyn) Thompson, Petersburg, Va., Diane Young, Louisville, Charles Tennyson and Charles Tennyson, Augusta; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Millard Ronald Boulineau Sr.
Mr. Millard Ronald Boulineau Sr., 60, of Sandersville died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at Washington County Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Boulineau, a native of Jefferson County, had lived in Sandersville most of his life. He was retired from Burgess Pigment Company as foreman and was a member of Bartow Baptist Church. The funeral was Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. at Bartow Baptist Church with the Revs. Emory Lindsey, Danny Thomas and Bruce Vaughn officiating. Burial was in the Bartow City Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Millard Ronald Boulineau Jr., Sandersville, and Jason (Michelle) Boulineau, Sandersville; three daughters, Carol (Jeff) Veal, Deep Stepp, Rebecca Hannah, Sandersville, and Rhonda (Fred) Crane, Hillsboro; one brothers, Roy Ellis Boulineau, Bartow; two sisters, Ellen Kirkland, Conyers, and Sue Stevens, Bartow; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tony Stavely, Greg Ledger, Russell Brown, John Stevens, Jeff Alligood and Roy Avant.

Honorary pallbearers were employees of Burgess Pigment Company.

Tomlinson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Tannie Jo Milburn Chalker
Mrs. Tannie Jo Milburn Chalker, 64, of Gibson died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006.Mrs. Chalker, a native of Glascock County, was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and served on the Glascock County Board of Education for 13 years.

She was a LPN for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband Garvin Chalker; and her parents, Roy and Edna Milburn.

The funeral was Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Revs. Steve Lamb and Bill Seaman officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Wanda and Ronnie Wood, Gibson, Sherri and Sean Epps, Thomson, and Tanya and Ron Martin, Harlem; one brother, Keith Milburn, Harlem; two sisters, Daren Waldron, Athens, and Cynthia Milburn, Loganville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Jerry Wood, Greg Milburn, Sean Waldron, Joe Dean Usry, Robert Kinner and Roy Sammons.

Memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church in care of Mrs. Elsie Milburn, 712 Calhoun St., Gibson, GA 30810.

William “Bill” Collins
Mr. William “Bill” Collins, 58, of Athens died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006.Mr. Collins was a graduate of the University of Georgia.

He was employed by Carriage House Realty in Athens. He was recently named Realtor of the Year for the Georgia Association of Realtors. Graveside services were held Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. in the Louisville City Cemetery with the Revs. Larry Montgomery and Dick Hoard officiating.

Survivors include one brother, C.M. and Marguerite Steed, Louisville; one sister Lucy Steed and Paul Strickland, Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were members of the Georgia Association of Realtors and Phi KAPPA Tau Fraternity.

Ruby Davis
Mrs. Ruby Davis, 99, of Wadley died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at Glendale Nursing Home.

Mrs. Davis was a member of St. Mark AME Church where she served as missionary president, Sunday school leader, church treasurer and secretary.

She was a member of the Wrens/Vidalia Missionary Society.

Wadley-Bartow Senior Citizens, Morning Star Society and worked with Jefferson County food service of Feed-A-Kid for many years.

The funeral was Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at St. Mark AME Church and Pineola Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Lugenia Johnson officiating.

Survivors include six nieces and nephews, Ellanoise Davis, North Augusta, Geneda Henley, Louisville, Verneda Driver, Atlanta, Dianette Blocker, Wilwood, N.J., Melchus Davis Jr., Washington DC, and Carey James Driver, Denver, Colo.

S.C. Franks Chapel, Greenville, S.C, was in charge of the arrangements.
