Margaret Louise Hudson

Mrs. Margaret Louise Hudson of Wrens died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006.

The funeral was Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at Ways Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy McCullough III officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.Survivors include five daughters, Mary E. Wright and Brenda Dixon, Wrens, Carolyn (Samuel) Kittles, Louisville, Patricia (Tommy) Green Sr. and Marilyn Hudson Ryans, Augusta; two sons, Willie (Henrietta) Hudson, Wrens, and Ricky Hudson, North Augusta; a sister, Evelyn Jordan, Wrens; two brothers, Leroy (Carrie) Jordan and Eddie Jordan, Wrens; two aunts; 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Burnett Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Bellinger

Joseph Bellinger, 67, died Saturday at his residence after a brief illness under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

He was a member of the St. Paul Baptist Church, retired from ITT Grinnell and presently employed with B&S; Detail of Statesboro.

Survivors include his mother, Cleo Bellinger, Statesboro; 24 children, Bishop Harry Bellinger, Floyd, Eugene, Sharon, Harry Joseph Jr., Larry, Regina, Daryll, Jacquelene, Toinett, Toronita, Henry, Mindra, Freddie, Melissa, Baby, Adrian, Amaris and Maurice Bellinger, Lynn Johnson, Sharon Morgan, Baby Mikell, Jamie Lovett and Kawana Melvin; five sisters, Catherine Dillard, Birmingham, Ala., Mary Alice Lee and Joan Green, both of Philadelphia, Pa., William Bellinger and Ulis Bellinger, both of New York City, N.Y.; Rastus Bellinger, Tocoma, Wash., George Edward Bellinger, Washington, D.C.; 18 grandchildren, 55 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 8:15-9:15 p.m. in the chapel of the James R. Barnes Mortuary in Statesboro.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Hodges Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Moore officiating. Burial will be held in the Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery.

Floyd Laster

Mr. Floyd Laster, 69, of Mitchell died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital in Augusta.

Mr.Laster was a native of Glascock County.

The funeral was Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Goodwin officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.Survivors include his brother, John Laster, Mitchell; and seven cousins.Pallbearers were Steve Arrington, Terrell Williford, Mike Lyons, Dean Cluch, Thomas Chalker and Charles Hadden.

Eloise Davis Kitchens

Mrs. Eloise Davis Kitchens, 87, of Gibson died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at McDuffie Regional Medical Center in Thomson.

Mrs. Kitchens, a native of Warren County, lived in Glascock County most of her life.

She was retired from Garland Knitting Mills after 25 years of service and was a member of Gibson First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth E. Kitchens.

The funeral was Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in Sheppard Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Russell Davis officiating.

Burial was in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson.

Survivors include three nieces, Dale Verell, Buford, Betty Duncan, Silver Springs, Md., and Dorothy Key, Palatka, Fla.; six nephews, Donald Kent, Gibson, Lynn Davis, Wrens, Fred Waters, Bowie, Md., Lloyd Davis, Joe Davis and Eddie Davis, Palatka.

Pallbearers are Larry Kent, Matt Kent, Mark Davis, Greg Kelley, Jamie Kitchens and Lee Griffin.

Charlie McCoy

Mr. Charlie McCoy, 91, of Ft. Lauderdale, formerly of Wrens, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006.

The funeral was Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at Spread AME Church with the Rev. Curtis C. Bradley officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Glen Dale Peters

Mr. Glen Dale Peters, 61, of Stapleton died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Peters was self-employed in various occupations, first in dairy farming, later, as a salesman of MoorMan’s Feed Company, and most recently in the trucking business. He was a member of Pinecrest Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Ileen Wilson Peters; two brothers, Verle and Merle Peters; and infant grandson, Justin Peters.

The funeral was Nov. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Pinecrest Mennonite Church with Ministers Maynard Peters, Brian Dyck and Randall Goossen officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Letha Holdeman Peters; four sons, Delwyn (Becky) Peters, Louisville, RaDean (Deanne) Peters, Hartwell, Shaylan (Diana) Peters, Stapleton, Kristin (Paula) Peters, Louisville; two brothers, Alden Peters, Artis Peters; a sister, Marcille Holdeman; a foster sister, Patricia Holdeman; five grandchildren, Mandy, Emily, Jill, Brent and Shawna.

Pallbearers were Nathan Holdeman, Gene Peters, Kim Holdeman, Ryan Holdeman, Patrick Holdeman, Daniel Holdeman, Galen Holdeman and Craig Peteres.

Margo Phillips

Mrs. Margo Phillips, 50, of Louisville died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at Heartland Hospice.

A memorial service was held Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. at Louisville City Cemetery with the Rev. William Anderson officiating.

Survivors include a son, Jason Phillips, Louisville; his mother, Nell Morrison; two brothers, Randall and Pete Morrison; and a sister, Bev Demont.

Tom Roberts

Mr. Tom Roberts of Wrens died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006.

The funeral was Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at Stone Springfield AME Church with the Rev. Michael Ephriam officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Antee Roberts; three daughters, Tywanda Roberts, Augusta, Samanthia Pipkins, Atlanta, and Debra Roberts, Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Georgia Lane, Reather Usry, both of Wrens, and Joyce Davis, Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Marvin Young

Mr. Marvin Young of Bronx, NY, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006.

Mr. Young was a native of Jefferson County and attended Hardeman Springfield at an early age.

He relocated to New York in 1959.

He graduated from Food and Maritime High School in 1972 and continued his education graduating with a bachelor degree in catering in 1975 from Bronx Community College.

He later joined the U.S. Army where he served four years.

In 1999 he retired from Roth Paper Company.

He was also a volunteer for the food bank in New York.

The funeral will be Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. at Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church and Cemetery with the Rev. Abraham Gibbons officiating.

Survivors include his mother, Patsy Gibbons Young, Louisville; his daughter, Qiania Young, Atlanta; four siblings, Alvin (Ruth) Young, Hephzibah, Patricia (David) Mitchell, Louisville, Joel (Cathy Jones) Young, Augusta, Althea (George) Miller, Albemarle, NC; a devoted friend, Shirley Hannah; seven aunts, five uncles; and nine nieces and nephews.
