John Harris Webb
John Harris Webb, 62, of LaGrange died Saturday at Cobb General Hospital in Austell.
Mr. Webb, born February 15, 1938, in Manchester, was the son of the late William C. and Ada Lee Grant Webb.
Survivors include two sons, John Webb Jr. of St. Paul, Minn., and Chris Webb of Villa Rica; a daughter, Melanie Cottle of Bremen; a brother and sister - in - law, Charles and Annette Webb of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Derek Porter officiating.
The family will be at the home of his brother and sister - in - law, Charles and Annette Webb, at 5918 Roanoke Road and will receive friends this evening from 7 until 9 at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jackie Hester
Mrs. Elizabeth Jacqlynn (Jackie) Hester, 58, of Roanoke, Ala., died Saturday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Hester, born June 28, 1942, in Randolph County, Ala., was the daughter of Mrs. Retter Mae Hyatt Wilson of Roanoke and the late Herbert Hoover Wilson. She was employed at the Live Oak Plant of Milliken & Company.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan Cofield and Cindy Clark, both of Roanoke, and Donna Hester of Austin, Texas; a granddaughter, Nicoel Clark; a great - grandson, Dylan Carter, both of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Allen Hester; a brother, Curtis Wilson; two sisters, Judy Carden and Brenda Harmon; and three grandchildren, Jarrett and Jane Garrett and Jordan Hester.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke with the Rev. Harold Bonner officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens.
The family will recieve friends this eveing from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lucille Boyd Brown, 44, of Hogansville died this morning at Newnan Hospital.
The Claude A. McKibben & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mary L. Ralston
Mrs. Mary Louise Ralston, 98, of 121 B Wynnwood Drive died Saturday at her home.
Mrs. Ralston, born September 27, 1902, in Cochrane, Ala., was the daughter of the late James and Minnie Young McDonald. She had lived here since 1992 and was a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church and an active member of the Troup County Senior Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Stone of LaGrange; four grandchildren and grandson - in - law, Dana Broz, Dona and Dan Sartin and Michael Stone, all of LaGrange, and Diane Grimes of Houston, Texas; and three great - grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Shadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Don Ellison officiating.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends this afternoon from 3 until 5 at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road.

Mrs. Vera Woodfin
Mrs. Vera Woodfin, 68, of 1821 Smokey Road died Sunday at the Medical Center in Columbus.
Mrs. Woodfin, born February 8, 1932, in Heard County, was the daughter of the late John and Effie Norton Smith. She was a former employee of Dunson Mill and K - Mart and attended Baptist Tabernacle.
Survivors include her husband, Howard G. Woodfin; a son and daughter - in - law, Melvin and Sue Woodfin; two daughters and a son - in - law, Diane and Mark Allen and Debbie Hobbs, all of LaGrange; two granddaughters, Vicki Crockett of Newnan and Michelle Woodfin of LaGrange; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Oliver Warren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road with the Revs. J. C. McMillian and Ralph Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends this evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.

Frank Brewer
Otis Frank Brewer, 56, of Franklin died Friday at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta following a brief illness.
Mr. Brewer was born July 3, 1944, in Heard County, the son of the late William Henry Brewer and Doris Hardegree Brewer. He was a member of Centralhatchee United Methodist Church and retired from West Point Pepperell Manufacturing Company in LaGrange where he was a mechanic in the maintenance department.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lorene Brewer of Franklin; a daughter and son - in - law, Sandy and Mark Barber of Franklin; three sons and two daughters - in - law, Jonny and Keli Brewer of Roopville, Scotty Brewer of Bowdon and Kenny and Christie Brewer of Centralhatchee; a sister, Dorothy Jenson of Yakima, Wash.; two brothers, Walter Brewer of Mount Zion and Roy Brewer of Marietta; three grandchildren, Nikki Barber and Maghan and Austin Brewer, all of Heard County; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 4 this afternoon at the Tom Stutts & Son Funeral Home with the Revs. Wayne Webb and Steve Whitman officiating. Burial will be in Heard County Memorial Park.

Morgan Turner
Morgan Christopher Turner, infant son of Chris and Christie McGuffin Turner, died Friday at Columbus Medical Center.
Morgan was born January 23, 2001, in Columbus.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a sister, Ansley Turner; grandparents, James and Frances McGuffin and Jerry and Linda Turner, all of LaGrange, and Cheryl Reynolds of Eatonton; great - grandparents, Mrs. Thelma Mitchell and Mrs. Mable Turner, both of LaGrange; ands several uncles, aunts and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road. The Revs. Bobby Robinson and Orman Harcrow will officiate with burial in Meadoway Gardens.
The family will be at their home at 163 Edgemont Drive and will receive friends from 4 until 6 this evening at the funeral home.
Flowers are appreciated but those desiring may contribute to the Columbus Medical Center Foundation for the neonatal high risk nursery at 710 Center St., in Columbus, Ga., 31901, in memory of Morgan Christopher Turner.

Mrs. Nina Middlebrooks
Mrs. Nina G, Middlebrooks, 88, of 11 Sunset Drive died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
A native of Heard County, Mrs. Middlebrooks was born May 20, 1912, the daughter of the late Jack and Emma Beard Glover. She had lived here most of her life and was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. She retired from Callaway Mills Company after 25 years of service and was a former employee of International Playtex.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, W.C. Middlebrooks; a son and daughter - in - law, Phillip Sr. and Mary Tom Middlebrooks of Chapel Hill, Texas; a granddaughter and grand - son - in - law, Carey Ann and Lee Oden of Houston, Texas; a grandson, Phillip Midddlebrooks Jr. of Chapel Hill, Texas; four great - grandchildren, Madison Oden, Reed Oden, Brooks Oden and Emily Oden, all of Houston; a brother, Willis Glover of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Shadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Brown officiating.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home.

A. D. Davis Jr.
A. D. Davis Jr., 75, of 231 North McDougal Ave., in Pine Mountain died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Davis, born November 4, 1925, in Chipley, was the son of the late A. D. Sr. and Claudia Jones Davis. He had lived there all his life and was a Navy and Marine veteran of World War II. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Auburn University. He was a retired educator, principal and basketball coach at Pine Mountain Elementary School for 38 years and was a member and chairman of the Harris County Board of Education and of the Pine Mountain City Council for 23 years. He was a member of the Chipley Masonic Lodge #40, Free and Accepted Masons for 30 years where he was treasurer and past master, the American Legion and the First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain where he was a deacon and member of the J. B. Patrick Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annette Ray Davis of Pine Mountain; three sons and daughters - in - law, George Lee and Amy Davis and Don Young and Vickie Davis, all of LaGrange, and Lance Ray Davis of Auburn, Ala.; five grandchildren, Joshua Young Davis of Athens, Kyle Benson Davis, George Alexander Davis, Allison Lee Davis and Lorena Lee Davis, all of LaGrange; a sister, Mary D. White of Pine Mountain; and a brother, Alton R. Davis of Pine Mountain.
Funeral Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain with the Revs. Wayne Hollaway, Bryan Geter and Joel Chapman officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Mountain City Cemetery.
The family will be at his home and will receive friends from 6 until 8 this evening at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain in memory of Mr. Davis.

Mrs. Carrie Cotton
Mrs. Carrie Lou Cotton of Atlanta, formerly of LaGrange, died January 28,
Survivors include a sister, Mattie Gholston of LaGrange; an aunt, Alice Ransom of Pine Mountain; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 this afternoon at Union Springs United Methodist Church at 6710 Whitesville Road with the Rev. Lonnie Thornton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will assemble at the church before the service.
Gus Thornhill Funeral Home in Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.

James Roman
James Roman, 65, of 217 Cedar St., died January 25 at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Roman, born September 14, 1935, in Troup County, was the son of the late Roman and Beulah Mae Todd Roman. He was a retired textile worker from Dixie Mill.
Survivors include his close friend of 15 years, Mary Jackson; six sisters, Lucinda and Booker King, Lula Pearl Hearn, Betty Hill, and Louise Jennings, all of LaGrange, Helen and Clayton Newsom of New Britian, Conn., and Peggy Pennington of Johnston, S.C.; four brothers, Charlie F. and Mary Roman of Flint, Mich., Longene and Gwen Roman and Roman Roman Jr., all of LaGrange, and Buford Roman of New Britian; a very close niece, Angela Motin; six other nieces, 10 nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by four sisters, four brothers a great niece and a nephew.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sunshine Baptist Church on Oak Grove Road with the Rev. John Parkmond officiating. Burial will be in the Bright Star Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at his home and the home of his sister, Lucinda King, at 602 Jefferson St.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
