Thomas 'Herman' Lanier, 73 of 144 Salem Road died Tuesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Striffler - Hamby Mortuary.

Wyolene Steadham
Mrs. Wyolene Hobbs Steadham of Newnan died Tuesday.
Survivors include two daughters and a son - in - law, Phillip and Rita Talley and Nancy Elrod, all of Newnan; two sons and daughters - in - law, Phil and Rita Steadham and Tim and Susan Steadham, all of Hogansville; two sisters, Nell Phelps of Villa Rica and Robbie Sapp of Dublin; three brothers, Billy Hobbs and Harold Hobbs, both of Dublin; and Aaron Hobbs of Marietta; six grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home in Fairburn with the Rev. Frank Sledge and Dr. Tom Daugherty officiating. Burial will be in Holly Hill.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Franklin Road Baptist Church in LaGrange or to Heatherwood Baptist Church at White Oak, 721 Shenandoah Blvd. in Newnan.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Parrott Funeral Home, 8355 Senoia Road, Hwy. 74, Fairburn, Ga., 30213 is in charge of arrangements.

Judge Dewey Smith
Judge Dewey Smith, 77, of Carollton died Saturday.
Judge Smith was a partner in the law firm of Smith and Hamrick in Carrollton before being appointed Judge of the Superior Court by former Governor George Busbee in 1980. He retired as Chief Judge of the Coweta Circuit on December 31, 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Graham Smith, two daughters and sons - in - law, Beverly and Chris Gaddis of Dallas, Texas and Patricia and Marty Pint, of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. June DeLoach of Carrollton, five grandchildren, Jordan, Chase and Alexa Gaddis, and Blake and Lindsay Pint.
Funeral services were today at 2 p.m. from Tabernacle Baptist Church in Carrollton with Dr. J. Howard Cobble, Dr, Jimmy Gentry, Dr. Stephen Graham and the Rev. Gordon Willingham officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
Those desiring may makecontributions to National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 NW 9th Ave., Miami, Fla., 33136 - 1494.
Almon Funeral Home, 548 Newnan St., Carrollton, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Rufus Amey
Rufus Amey of 101 Caldwell Road of Greenville, died Saturday at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange.
Mr. Amey, a native of Meriwether County, was the son of the late Hugh Alvin and Sallie Reeves Amey. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Greenville.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Amey, six sons and their spouses, John and Bertha Amey of Senoia, William and Norsa Amey of Atlanta, Glen and Carolyn Amey of Greenville, Curtis and Mary Amey of Moreland, Randy and Dacia Amey of Atlanta and Timmy and Nikki Amey of Loxley, Ala.; two daughters and a son - in - law, Annella and Bernard Clark of Atlanta and Valerie Amey of Greenville; two brothers and a sister - in - law, Edward and Mary Frances Amey of Hogansville and Wilson Amey of Lone Oak; a sister and brother - in - law, Willie Mae and Zanuel Parks of Luthersville, and several grandchildren and great - grandchildren.
West Georgia Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Audrey Martin, 66, of 97 Willis Circle, died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.

John E. Sturdivant
John Edward Sturdivant, 80, resident of the Georgia War Veteran's Home in Milledgeville, died Wednesday at Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville.
Mr. Sturdivant, formerly of Mountville, was born September 9, 1921 in Harris County. He was the son of the late Crawford Fuller Sr., and Susan Hogg Sturdivant. Mr. Sturdivant retired from the United States Army after 25 years of service.
Survivors include two sisters, Sara Smith of Columbus and Margaret Sturdivant of Americus; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mountville Cemetery with the Rev. Marion M. Shivers officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Irma Compton
Mrs. Irma R. Compton, 98 died Friday at Florence Hand Nursing Home.
Mrs. Compton, born March 17, 1903, in Honey Grove, Texas, was the daughter of the late Claude Elmo and Lula Jones Rogers. She was the owner of an employment agency before retiring.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William H. Kimbrough of Pine Mountain; three grandchildren, Mr. Charles E. Kimbrough of Pine Mountain, Mr. William H. Kimbrough Jr., of Athens and Mrs. John Walden of Columbus; and four great - grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Compton will be in Forth Worth, Texas.
Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Joyce Barnell
September 29, 2001

Mrs. Joyce Chandler Barnwell, of 121 Foster's Green Drive in Macon, died Wednesday.
Mrs. Barnwell was born in Macon and had lived there most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Smith Chandler and Hettie McAlister Hodges Chandler. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and the University of North Carolina. She received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Mercer University and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with a degree in medical mechnology. She was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity and a past member of Macon Junior League. Mrs. Barnell was a homemaker and a member of Christ Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Daughters of the King.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll Smith Barnwell of Macon; three daughters, Carol Barnwell Neighbors of LaGrange, Joyce Barnwell Ivey, of Lexington, S.C., and Hettie Price Barnwell of Macon; a son, George Rhett Barnwell of Sullivan's Island, S.C.; six grandchildren, three great - grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Chandler Jones of Macon. She was precede in death by a sister, Anne Chandler Beaty.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church in Maconwith the Rev. H. Huey Gardner officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 538 Walnut Street, Macon, Ga., 31201, in memory of Mrs. Barnwell.
Snow's Memorial Chapel in Macon is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nancy Cooper
Mrs. Nancy (Jackie) Cooper, 65, of 206 Woodfield Circle, died Friday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Cooper, born August 11, 1936 in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late David A. (Slim) and Nollie Leodie Knott Gordon. She was retired from Twin Fountains Nursing Home and a member of Teaver Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughter - in - law, Terry A. and Jessica Cooper of West Point and David D. Cooper of LaGrange; a grandson, Indy Cooper of West Point; a sister, Louise Loyd of LaGrange; a brother, David E. (Pete) Gordon of LaGrange; two nieces, Samantha Loyd Watford of Goosecreek, S.C., and Katha Loyd of LaGrange and a special friend, Shirley Traylor, of LaGrange. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alton Gordon.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Teaver Road Baptist Church with the Preacher Mike Reeves and the Rev. Mike Hornsby officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemtery.
The body will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
The family will be at her home at 206 Woodfield Circle, and will receive friend at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of arrangements.

Pauline J. Wright
Pauline J. Wright, 81, of 508 Ridley Ave., died Wednesday at her home.
Mrs. Wright, born May 9, 1920 in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late James Asbury and Hattie Elizabeth Garner Jenkins. She retired from Playtex International and was a member of Hillside Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin T. Wright Sr., and a son, Alvin T. Wright, Jr., both of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Knight officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 4 Sunday afternoon.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to National Alzheimer's, 919 North Michigan Ste., 1100 Chicago Ill., 60611 or American Diabetes Associations, in memory of Mrs. Wright.
Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
