Mrs. Sara Tripp
Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Lou Tripp, 90, of Cochran, who died Friday in Summerhill Elderliving Home in Perry, will be held today at 2 p.m. in Limestone Baptist Church with the Revs. Ken Brooks and Jeff Cummings officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Tripp was a native of Bleckley County and the daughter of the late Ira Gordon Smith and Lizzie Smith. She was the widow of J.C. Tripp. She was a member of Limestone Baptist Church, where she was a member of Thelma Williams Sunday School class. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Tripp of Cochran; two daughters, Vicki Tripp Mosteller of Perry and Barbara Tripp Hackley of LaGrange; two sisters, Hazel S. Lucas and Lillie Mae S. Floyd, both of Cochran; eight grandchildren and nine great - grandchildren.
Family met friends at Fisher Funeral Home Saturday night from 7 until 9 p.m. and may be contacted at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Tripp, Faulk Road, Cochran.
Fisher Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Willie M. Burton
Mrs. Willie Mae Burton Williams of 119 Watson St. died Tuesday at her home.
Mrs. Williams, a native of Meriwether County, was the daughter of the late Will and Lula Ogletree Burton. She was a homemaker and a member of Arbor Grove Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henderson Williams.
Survivors include two sons, Luther (Margaret) Williams, Henry (Lee Anna) Williams, all of West Palm Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Stanley Williams of Stone Mountain, Chris Williams, Latoscha Gordon, both of West Palm Beach, Fla.; great - grandchildren; one brother, Norse Burton of LaGrange; two sisters, Susie Strozier of Flint, Mich., Margaret (Joseph Mooreman of Louisville, Ky.; a devoted and caring sister - in - law, Annie Laura Burton and caregiver, Alvin Callaway, both of LaGrange; special nieces, Garwynne Wiggins and Garynne Parks, both of Atlanta; special friend, Louise Newton of LaGrange, other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Arbor Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. H.J. Long officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her sister - in - law, Annie Laura Burton at 307 Colquitt St.
A service by Mackey - Wilson - Jennings Funeral Home.

Terrell Williams
James Terrell Williams, 70, of Navarre, Fla., formerly of LaGrange, died Saturday at his home.
Mr. Williams was born October 4, 1931, in LaGrange the son of the late Gussie James and Sallie Mae Williams. He was the retired owner of West Georgia Collections and a former member of Highland Country Club and the LaGrange Jaycees. He lived in LaGrange until 1996. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Corrine Williams of Navarre; two daughters and sons - in - law, Jan and Henry Duke of Birmingham, Ala., and Jodi and Joe Brazell of LaGrange; seven grandchildren, Ashley Keel, Beau Keel and Brian Keel, all of Birmingham, Joseph Alise, Joseph Brazell, Hunter Brazell and Hayley Brazell, all of LaGrange; four stepchildren and their spouses, JoAnne and Bobby Salter of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Karen and Paul Bowers of Birmingham, Thaddeus and Donna Nobles and Philip Nobles, all of Pensacola, Fla.; step - grandchildren, Jennifer and Chuck Hartsfield of Birmingham, Grant and Cam Salter of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Ashton Salter and Addison Salter, both of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Alexia Bowers of Birmingham, Ariston Bowers of Virginia, Heather Nobles, Ashley Nobles and Misty Nobles, all of Texas; one step - great - grandson, Hudson Hartsfield of Birmingham; and a stepbrother, Donald Swann, and a very close friend, Willie J. (Bubba) Easter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn W. Williams and a stepbrother, Rodney Swann.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with the Rev. Max McCord officiating. Entombment will be in Shadowlawn Mausoleum.
The family will be at the home of his daughter and son - in - law, Jodi and Joe Brazell, at 105 Lismore Drive Sunday evening. The family will receive friends Monday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made in Mr. Williams' memory to Covenant Hospice, 2001 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, Fla.

Ira M. Tigner
Ira M. Tigner of 46 East Beasley Road, Hogansville, died July 15 in Meriwether County.
Mr. Tigner, a native of Meriwether County, was the son of the late Ira and Essie Tigner. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of several civic and religious organizations. He was a deacon of Rocky Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Polly Mae Tigner; four sons, Carl Tigner of Hogansville and Minister Ira L. Tigner, Ronald Tigner, and Joe Calvin Tigner, all of LaGrange; two daughters, Mrs. Sharon Strozier of Mountville and Mrs. Angela Ratliff of West Point; two brothers, the Rev. Cleo Tigner of Atlanta and Robert Tigner of Luthersville; a sister, Mrs. Lucinda Martin of Luthersville; 24 grandchildren, and six great - grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at their home.
West Georgia Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Lee Olin Stewart
Lee Olin Stewart, 82, of Hogansville and a former resident of Sheffield, Ala., died Monday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Stewart, a native of Sheffield, was a veteran of World War II, having served as an artilleryman in Germany and France. He was a member of Highland Methodist Church and spent his life in service to his country, his family, and his Lord.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Stewart of Woodland Park, Colo.; a daughter, Shirley Stewart Adcock of Hogansville; a brother, Otis K. Stewart of Florence, Ala.; six grandchildren; and 12 great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon in Tuscumbia, Ala., with Dr. Jack McLendon officiating.
Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ruby M. Harris
Mrs. Ruby Moore Harris, 86, of Pine Mountain, died Thursday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Harris, born July 16, 1916, in Harris County, was the daughter of the late Jack and Nellie Mae Harris. She was a retired bookkeeper and sales clerk for Marshall's Furniture.
Mrs. Harris an active member of Hopewell United Methodist Church where she was a former secretary, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and member of the church Women's Missionary Society.
Mrs. Harris initiated the fund raising effort that built the existing fellowship hall at Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Willis Eugene Harris; a son and daughter - in - law, Phillip and Sandra Harris, all of Pine Mountain; grandson, Jack Harris of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Melanie Colquitt and great - grandson, Kyle Colquitt, both of Pine Mountain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Pine Mountain with the Rev. David Phillips officiating assisted by Rev. Mike Ayers and Dr. Zane Chambers.
Visitations will be this evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton.

Ellen R. Herbst
Mrs. Ellen R. Herbst, 83, of LaGrange, died Monday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Herbst, born November 19, 1918 in Kansas City, Mo., was the daughter of the late David and Clara VanHoy Risk.
Mrs. Herbst had lived in LaGrange 47 years, and taught at Troup High School and retired from the Troup County School System after 20 years of service.
Mrs. Herbst was a graduate of Harris Teachers College in St. Louis, Mo.; where she also taught school. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. Herbst was a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square where she taught adult Sunday School. She was member of the WMU and a former member of the choir.
Survivors include a daughter and son - in - law, Barbara and Arnold Darden of LaGrange; a son and daughter - in - law, Robert and Brenda Herbst of New Port Richie, Fla.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Leigh Darden and Danny Taylor of LaGrange, Chris and April Herbst of Orlando, Fla., Laura Herbst and Pete Mayo of Seminole, Fla.; two great - grandchildren, Courtney Taylor and Ellen Taylor, both of LaGrange; a soon to be great - grandson, Ben Mayo; three sisters and brothers - in - law, Shirley and Dr. Charles B. Clark of Houston, Texas, Clare and George Nelson, and Martha Jean Votaw, both of St. Louis, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Mr. Omar Maxwell Herbst.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Ida Cason Callaway Memorial Chapel at the First Baptist Church on the Square with Dr. Paul R. Baxter and Dr. Charles B. Clark officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Music Ministry in memory of Mrs. Herbst.

Mrs. Phyllis V. Pruitt
Phyllis Virginia Pruitt, 73, formerly of LaGrange, died July 14 in Tallahasee, Fla. She was the daughter of the late Sylvene Prather and M.C. Nappier.
Mrs. Pruitt was a resident of Tallahassee for 31 years and was of the Baptist faith. She worked in the bakery department for Publix.
Survivors include her husband, Dan W. Pruitt; a son and daughter - in - law, Tony and Patricia Kirkley; a daughter, Donna Kirkley, all of Tallahasee; a son and daughter - in - law, Tim and Debbie Kirkley of Crawfordville; a sister, Deanne Scubelek of LaGrange; four grandchildren, Jason Sparks of Douglasville, Carole Ann Sparks of Dallas, Jodie Kirkley and Jarrod Kirkley, both of Crawfordville; and a great - grandchild, Jordan Cagle of Dallas.
Funeral services were today at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Harvey - Young Funeral Home in Crawfordville, Fla.

Lawanna Redding
Mrs. Lawanna H. Fowler Redding, 66, of 79 Drake Road, died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Redding was born Nov. 24, 1935 in Harris County to the late Homer Clifford and Bessie Mae Matthews Fowler. A member of Oakside Baptist Church, Mrs. Fowler lived here all her life and was formerly employed at West Point Stevens and a former owner/operator with her husband of Redding's Service Station for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Lee Redding; one daughter, Carolyn Yates; one son and daughter - in - law, Buck and Carol Redding; six grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon Earnest, Ashley Redding, Amber Redding, Bubba and Lindsay Earnest, Lee Earnest and Scott and Lesley Rogers; three great - grandchildren, Garrett Earnest, Hunter Earnest and Samantha Jones, all of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home with the Rev. Max McCord officiating. Burial will be in Meadoway Gardens.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
