Fannie Lou Tucker
Fannie Lou Tucker of 106 Clearview Drive died Monday in Fort Mitchell, Ala.
Mrs. Tucker, a native of Troup County, was the daughter of Julius Hudson, and the late Sarah K. Hudson. She retired from Duracell after 25 years and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her father, include a devoted daughter, LaTonya Tucker of LaGrange; a devoted son, Tyrone Tucker of Savannah; devoted friend, Jimmy Williams of LaGrange; six sisters and four brothers - in - law, Susie and Frank Copeland, Joann Dixon, Juanita and Marvin Person, all of LaGrange, Mary and Johnny Stephens, Peggy and John Allen, all of Riverdale, and Nancy Hudson of Iceland; four brothers and three sisters - in - law, Julius and Gloria Hudson of Dayton, Ohio, Raymond and Lorene Hudson of LaGrange, Dr. Phillip Hudson of Torrance, Calif., and Clinton and Margarite Hudson of Landover, Md. Special friends, Ida May Day of Fort Mitchell, Ala., Barbara Miles of Columbus, Betty Zachary, Derlia McFarland, Mamie Crowder and Dovie White, all of LaGrange; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church on Cox Street with the Rev. W.T. Edmondson officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at her home.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James C. Hay
Graveside services for James C. Hay, 97 of Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Hogansville, will be at 2 p. Sunday in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville Saturday from 5 until 7.

Lizzie Lou Phillips
Mrs. Lizzie Lou Phillips, 96, of 907 Whitesville St., died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Phillips, born August 11, 1906, in Troup County, was the daughter of the late Charlie and Georgia McAfee Truitt. She was an active member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Missionary #2 Society and was a member of Peoples Benevolent Lodge for many years.
Survivors include a son and daughter - in - law, Charlie and Pearlie Phillips; two daughters and a son - in - law, Mamie Ruth Harrlison and Essie and Willie Swanson, all of LaGrange; a brother, Rev. Robert Truitt of Dayton, Ohio, ; 21 grandchildren, 45 great - grandchildren and 35 great - great - grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rufus Philips, two sons, King Phillips and James Phillips and three brothers, Coris Truitt, Rufus Truitt, and Aaron Truitt.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 420 East Mt. Zion Church Road with Dr. V.F. Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at her home.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lorimer B. Freeman
Lorimer Bassett Freeman, 95, of Dahlonega died Wednesday at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Born in Troup County, he was the son of the late Thomas Norman and Everett Virginia Jenkins Freeman. He earned his bachelors ad masters degrees at the University of Georgia and did further study at Northwestern, Harvard and New York University. Residing in Dahlonega since 1933, he taught at North Georgia College & State University for 38 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Bishop of Marietta and Carolyn Pellerin of Pendleton, S.C.; two sisters, Julia Sipes and Elizabeth Hunter, both of Atlanta; grandchildren, Jenny Rowell Elkridge, Md., Karen Johnson of Mt. Airy, Md, Rob and Brian Bishop of Marietta, Kelly Pellerin of Madison Wis. and Hank Pellerin of Santa Clara, Calif., and Tom Pellerin of Pendleton, S.C.; and great grandchildren, Devin and Alec Rowell of Elkridge, Md., and Shane Johnson of Mt. Airy Md. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Winnie Herring Freeman and a son Thomas Lee Freeman.
Funeral services will at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dahlonega Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert D. Green and William D. Hutcheson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The body will be at the church at 10:30 a.m.
The family will receive friends at McKinney Funeral Home Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home at 9250 Hutcherson Ferry Road, Palmetto, Ga. 30268 or to the L.B. Freeman Scholarship at North Georgia College & State University or to any Baptist church.
McKinney Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of arrangements.

Howard May
Howard Lon May, 46, of LaGrange died Sunday at his home.
Mr. May, born May 24, 1956, in LaGrange, was the son of Louise McMillan May and the late Bonnie W. May. He was a salesman in the former family business, May Furniture Company.
Survivors, in addition to his mother include an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. T.K. Moore of Belton, Texas.

Jackson C. Parnell
Jackson C. “Jack” Parnell, 67, of the Stonecrest Retirement Community in Summerfield, Fla., formerly of LaGrange, died Thursday at Summerfield Suites Hospice.
Mr. Parnell, born in Poplar Bluff, Mo., received his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 1960, was an Air Force veteran and a P.G.A. Pro Golfer. He retired after 20 years as regional sales manager for the Kex Division of Milliken and Company and worked as a golf pro at Callaway Gardens. He was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church in Lady Lake, Fla., and the Stonecrest Veterans Club.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Marj Parnell of Summerfield, Fla.; a daughter and son - in - law, Lennice and Del Parker of LaGrange; a son and daughter - in - law, Jackson Clark and Jenny Parnell of Savannah; three stepchildren, Thomas Askew and his wife Sherry, and Julie Burns, all of Tulsa, Okla., and Amy Askew of Summerfield, Fla.; grandchildren, Leighton, Libby and Jacob Parker, Katlyn and Conner Parnell, Riley and Braden Askew and Zachary Burns; and two brothers, Wray Parnell of Houston, Texas and Archie Parnell of Longview, Texas.
He was preceded in death my his wife of 30 years, Ginny Parnell.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Pine Mountain with the Rev. Joe Buffington officiating. Inurnment will be private.
The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County, P.O. Box 4860, Ocala, Fla., 34478 in memory of Mr. Parnell.

Joe Lewis Gilbert
Joe Lewis Gilbert, 76, of 85 Teaver Road died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Gilbert, born Dec. 18, 1926, in Opelika, Ala., was the son of the late George and Ollie Gilbert. He retired from the Ford Motor Company and was s a member of Peace Baptist Church in Opelika, Ala.
Survivors include a caring wife, Bertha Gilbert; a special, devoted sister - in - law, Mattie Gilbert, both of LaGrange, other sisters - in - law, Mary Gilbert and Nellie Huguley, both of LaGrange, Mattie Gilbert of Shawmut, Ala., Linda Gilbert Curry of Atlanta, Annie Bennett of LaGrange and Beatrice Stenson of New York; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great - nephews, other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Baptist Church on 10th Street in West Point with the Rev. Willie T. Edmondson officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at his home.

William E. Skelton Jr.
William E. Skelton Jr., 92, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of LaGrange, died Monday in St. Louis.
Mr. Skelton, born Oct. 15, 1911, in Pratt City, Ala., was the son of the late Rev. W. E. Sr., and Dorothy D. Skelton. His father was former pastor of Stonewall Church of God. He was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter Jeanette S. Carr of LaGrange; a son and daughter - in - law, William E. “Bill” III and Carolyn Skelton of Buford; a stepdaughter and stepson - in - law, Lafon A. and Robert Hart of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 10 great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Hoffmeister South County Chapel in St. Louis is in charge of arrangements.

Ann Hudson Moore
Ann Hudson Moore, 69, of Anniston, died Friday, April 18 at her home.
Mrs. Moore, a native of Gadsden, Ala., resided many years in Oneonta, Ala., before moving to Anniston. She was a former Miss Atlanta, a mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved sports, gardening, cooking and caring for her home and family who meant the world to her. She filled her life with doing for others and her tireless energy touched all those who came in contact with her. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Anniston.
Survivors include her children, Dana Moore Langford of LaGrange; Michael L. Moore and Matthew R. Moore, both of Birmingham; six grandchildren, Mary Ann and Dagny Langford, Gantt and Dailey Moore and Elizabeth Ann and Ameila Moore; her sisters, Ola H. Fenton of California and Sally Hudson and Virginia Hudson, both of Gadsden.; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan R. Moore.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Anniston.
The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Music Fund, 1400 Noble St., Anniston, Ala. 36201 - 3865.

Donald Ray Hill
Donald Ray 'Papa Ray' Hill, 63, of Smith Station, Ala., died Monday at St. Frances Hospital in Columbus.
Mr. Hill, born June 23, 1939, in LaGrange, was the son of the late Moses K. and Nina Brand Hill. He was a retired photographer with the Civil Service at Ft. Benning and was gifted in custom built furniture.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Wright Hill; a daughter DeAnn Hill, both of Smith Station; a son, Danny Hill of Phenix City, Ala.; five brothers, Rudolph Hill of Valley, Ala, Quillian Hill of LaGrange; Harold Hill and Ed Hill, both of Dadeville, Ala.; and Jimmy Hill of Valley, Ala.; four grandchildren, Stevie and Kaleigh Smith of Smiths Station and Cheyenne and Trevyn Hill of Phenix City.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. EDT at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with the Rev. John Rigby officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 5 until 8 EDT.
