Danny Turner
Danny Wayne Turner, 50, of the Glenn community died Friday, April 4, 2003 at the West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Turner was born July 1, 1952, in LaGrange and was the son of the late Charlie Lee and Annie Lee Phillips Turner. He was employed at Poor Boy’s Grocery Store and was a member of Wehadkee Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Bunn Turner of Glenn; three stepsons and their wives, Scott and Chandra Allen, Timothy and Misty Allen, and Christopher Allen, all of Glenn; a sister and brother - in - law, Margaret and Harold Ellington of LaGrange; two brothers and sisters - in - law, James and Judy Turner of LaGrange, and the Rev. Richard E. and Wanda Turner of Warner Robins; two grandchildren, Wesley and Deanna Allen, both of Glenn; a number of nieces and nephews and great - nieces and great - nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John Kenneth Turner, and a sister, Blanch Diane Wilkins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 7, 2003, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Striffler - Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Olin McClain and the Rev. Richard E. Turner officiating with burial to follow in the Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will be at their home and will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
These arrangements are by Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, 1010 Mooty Bridge Road.

Ida B. Walters
Miss Ida B. Walters, 76, of 803 Troup St. died Saturday morning at Twin Fountains Nursing Home.
Miss Walters, born Jan. 13, 1927, in Worth County, was the daughter of the late John A. and Mary Lydia Walters. She was retired from Royal Elaine Nursing Home.
She is survived by three sisters, Irene Strickland of Georgetown, S.C., Mabel Stephens of Moultrie and Louise Cornetta of Elmont, N.Y.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand Chapel with the Rev. David Simmons officiating. Burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Cool Springs Baptist Church cemetery in Doerun.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 this afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Miss Walters.

Annie Bryan Bowles
Mrs. Annie Lee Bryan Bowles, 75, died Thursday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Bowles, born July 28, 1927, in Franklin, was the daughter of the late James William Harrison and Dussie Stephenson Bryan. She was a member of Gray Hill Baptist Church and retired from Milliken and Company after 25 years.
Survivors include, her husband, Riley Lee Bowles of LaGrange; four daughters and sons - in - laws, Robbie and Dan Ware of Kennesaw, Diane and David Campbell of Greenville; Carolyn and Robert Wilson of LaGrange and Vickie and Ed Nelson of Westville, Fla., two sons and daughters - in - law, Donald and Linda Bowles and Jimmy and Brenda Bowles, all of LaGrange; four sisters and a brother - in - law, Doris Owensby, Jackie and Talmadge Davis and Agnes Jackson, all of Franklin and Nell Hubbard of Atlanta; a brother and sister - in - law, Jerry and Melba Bryan of Rising Faun; 18 grandchildren, 15 great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Striffler - Hamby Mortuary with the Revs. Lamar Womack and Jimmy Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
Striffler Hamby Mortuary at at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of arrangements.

Arthur Cy Gasses
Arthur Cy Gasses, 67, of Greenville, died Monday at his home,
Mr. Gasses, born March 21, 1936, in Henry County, was the son of the late Cy Arthur and Betty Lou Westmoreland Gasses. He was an Air Force veteran and retired from insurance sales and management. He was a member of Greenville Masonic Lodge 321 of Free and Accepted Masons, where he was a master mason for 28 years, past master, present and long - time secretary, past district deputy to grandmaster state chairman of district deputies to the grand master for a number of years, past master of the Fourth Masonic District of Georgia and a representative to the Fourth Masonic District on the Trial Commission and Board of Relief for several years. He was an ambassador to the Masonic Children's Home. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite and holder of the Master of the Royal Secret, senior warden of Columbus Lodge of Perfection Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and would have completed master in December and was a member of Al Sihah Shrine Temple in Columbus. He was a member and deacon of Greenville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Gasses; three daughters, Sonya Gasses, Angela and Gary Degler and Kayanne Gasses Ward; a son, Cy Arthur II and Linda Gasses II; grandchildren, Anna, Rachel, and Art Gasses, India Ward and Clay Degler, all of Greenville; four sisters, Doris Moore of Barnesville, and Barbara Payne, Rachelle Langford and Ronnie Bowles, all of Notasulga, Ala.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Greenville City Cemetery with Dr. Ken Dobbs, the Rev. Jonathan Porter and Dr. Ron Wilson officiating. Pallbearers were D. R. Ward, Bo Argroves, Mike McDaniel, Tim McCard, Mark Kitchens and Dan Branch. Honorary pallbearers were Masons.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the Greenville Baptist Church Building Fund, Box 458, Greenville, Ga., 30222, or to the Greenville Masonic Lodge, Box 321, Greenville, Ga. 30222.

J.D. Marchman
J.D. Marchman, 86, of Columbus, formerly of LaGrange, died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus.
Mr. Marchman, born March 19, 1917, in Carroll County, was the son of the late Henry Paul and Gwendylon Ward Marchman. He was a retired tool and die maker for William - Bonnell Company in Newnan. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class. He was a 32nd degree mason at Elm City Lodge #544.
Survivors include a daughter and son - in - law, Myron and Dr. Hal Brady of Columbus; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Cathy Brady of Chattanooga, Tenn., Elizabeth Richards of Decatur, and Jason and Amanda Brady of Atlanta; five great - grandchildren, Brady Richards and Hal Richards both of Decatur, Briana Brady and Quinn Brady both of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Glenn Brady of Atlanta; a sister, Mona and Ben Massengale of Smyrna; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leola Marchman.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with Dr. Hal Brady officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his daughter in Columbus and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 until 7.
Contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of LaGrange or to St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbus in memory of Mr. Marchman.

Mrs. Ollie Lee Stinson, formerly of 105 Niles St died Thursday at West Georgia Medical Center.
The family will be at the homes of her sons, William Stinson at 215 Jefferson and Henry Stinson at 731 North Greenwood and Terry Stinson at 1005 Stonewall St
Arrangements will be announced later by Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Lester Hankins of Whitesville will be Friday at New Solomon Grove Baptist Church in Pine Mountain with the Rev. Irvin Smith officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret F. Cornatzer
Margaret Freeman Cornatzer, 79, of Huntsville, Ala. died March 30 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Cornatzer, born July 6, 1923, in LaGrange was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Norman Freeman Sr. She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor s degree in Zoology and work there and at Wake Forest University Bowman Gray Medical School. For 39 years she and her husband lived and reared their children in Grand Forks N.D., where he was employed at the University of North Dakota Medical School. She was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church in Huntsville, the North Dakota Dames Club, a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapters AJ&J for 50 years, and was active in art associations and was a member of the daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her husband, William E. Cornatzer Ph.D. M. D.; children, Nancy C. Turner M.D. and her husband Jon Turner M.D. of Huntsville, Ala., and W.E. Cornatzer Jr. M.D. and his wife Dona of Bismark N.D.; grandchildren, Eric and Amy Cornatzer, Jonathan, Jeff, Margaret and Matt Turner and Beth Turner of Falkenburg, Md. and husband, Mark; a great - granddaughter, Zoe; two sisters Julia Sipes and Elizabeth Hunter; and a brother Lorimer B. Freeman of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Norman Freeman Jr., and a sister, Bernice Freeman.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Whitesburg Baptist Center Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Jackson and the Rev. Emerson Lyle officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service.
Memorial may be made to the Whitesburg Baptist Church Library or Seekers Sunday School Class.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville is in charge of arrangements.

Willie Roy Brown
Willie Roy Brown, 58, of 201 Johnson St., died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Brown, was the son of the late Hugh and Louela Libscomb and a 1965 graduate of Ethel W. Kight High School. He retired from the Hillside Plant of Milliken and Company.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Brown; a son, Victor Copeland; a daughter Danielle Brown, all of Atlanta; four brothers and sisters - in - law, Zebedee Brown, Kenneth Lipscomb, Jerry and Sue Lipscomb and Donell and Vickie Lipscomb all of LaGrange; three sisters, Brunella Lipscomb, Glenda Lipscomb, and Jacqueline and Leon Barnes, all of LaGrange; an aunt, Willie Mullins of Milwaukee, Wis.; two uncles, Charlie Frank and Dorothy Brown of Atlanta and Morris Brown of LaGrange and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Southview Cemetery with the Rev. J. Terry Barnes officiating.
The family will be at the home of his brother, Jerry Lipscomb at 105 Brenda Boulevard and will receive friends there.

Claude Terrell
Claude Tyrone Terrell, 52, of 609 Juniper Street, died Saturday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Terrell, born March 2, 1951, in Hogansville, was the son of the late Thomas and Bennie Mae Terrell. He was employed at Ben - Parmer Corporation for 26 years and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter Lawanda Patterson; a son, Michael Thornton; brothers, Thomas Terrell, Stanley Terrell and Frankie Laye, all of LaGrange and Dwight and Sheila Terrell of Morrow; four sisters, Phyllis Terrell of Morrow, Andrea Terrell, Beverly Kennedy and Matilda Terrell, all of LaGrange; two grandchildren, Jermarious Maddox and Mikayla Thornton of LaGrange; an aunt, Helen Terrell of Hogansville; special friends, Steve (Carl) Williams, Ida McCamey and Maxine Patterson, all of LaGrange; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Saints of Christ Christian Worship Center at 208 Clark St. with Evangelist Michael Roland officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Lawanda Patterson at 104 Cross Creek Drive.
