Jessie Mae Davis
Jessie Mae Davis, age 97, of McDonough, Georgia died Saturday, September 3, 2005. Mrs. Davis was born Saturday, March 28, 1908 in Folkston, the daughter of the late Florence Seaborn Rodenberry and Edward Davis. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McDonough, and was a devoted homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Davis in 1996; daughter, Pat Roberts in 2000; son-in-law, Bud Roberts in 2002; and sister, Bessie Lee Cobb.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Lisa and Mike Hawk-ins of Monticello, Tammy and Henry Page of Lilburn, and Rhonda and Bart Staines of Woodstock; great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Brad Lunsford, Holly Middleman, and Justin and Tyler Hinson; great-great-granddaughter, Brynn Lunsford.
Services were held Monday, September 5 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael White officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Glenn Turner
Glenn Turner, age 90, of McDonough, Georgia died Mon-day, September 5, 2005. Mr. Turner was born Sunday, April 18, 1915 in Riverdale, the son of the late Howard Clifford and Carrie Olive Huie Turner. He was a member of the McDonough Presbyterian Church, and a former member of The Riverdale Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. He was awarded a Lifetime Membership in the International Lions Club and was recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Most important to him was family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his sons, Howard William Turner, and James Lee Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Estelle; son, David Turner of James Island, South Carolina; daughters-in-law, Dee Sanders of McDonough, Vicki Turner of James Island, South Carolina; grandchildren, Brian Turner, Glenn Howard Turner II, Isaac Turner, and Grady Turner; great-grandson, Nathan Turner.
Services were held Thursday, September 8 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Dudley Rose officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to The Good Shepherd Clinic, 6392 Murphy Drive, Morrow, Georgia, 30260. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Charlotte Hatfield Shellnutt
Charlotte Hatfield Shellnutt, age 73, of McDonough, Georgia died Monday, September 5, 2005. Mrs. Shellnutt was born Monday, July 11, 1932 in Atlanta, the daughter of the late Esma Geneva Head and William Scott Hatfield. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, graduate of Russell High School Class of ‘49, and she enjoyed reading and fishing. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Matthew Shellnutt in 1950; and husband, John Henry Shellnutt, Jr. in 1985.
She is survived by her children, Libby and Eddie Armstrong of Winston, Lynn Penn of McDonough, and Shane and Janet Shellnutt of McDonough; grandchildren, Matthew and Kym Arm-strong, John and Elizabeth Shirley, Dallas and Jennifer McPherson, Jessica Penn, Lauren Dail, J.T. Shellnutt, and Hope Shellnutt; great-grandchildren, Kelton and Shannon Armstrong; sister-in-law, Betty Brown of Norcross; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Wednesday, September 7 at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park, with Dr. Gary Lewis officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Dr., McDonough, Georgia, 30253. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Betty Slate Robinson
Betty Slate Robinson, age 78, of Stockbridge, Georgia died Tuesday, September 6, 2005. Ms. Robinson was born Wednesday, August 10, 1927 in Atlanta. She was secretary to Mayors Hartsfield and Ivan Allen Jr., and was formerly employed with Alston and Bird Law Firm. She was a member of Stockbridge First United Methodist Church, where she was very active in her Sunday school class and the Happy Hearts. But most important to her were her family and pets. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Charles (Kay) Robinson, Rebecca (Robert) Stavely, Rhonda Robin-son, Robert (Sherri) Robinson; grandchildren, Chuck (Erin) Robinson, Will Robinson, Katie (Matt) Dunn, Elizabeth and Christopher Stavely, Austin, Tiffany and Jenna Robinson; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Nicholas Robinson, Tyler, Matthew, and Jarred Dunn.
Services were held Thursday, September 8 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Jay Hodges and Rev. Charles Robinson officiating. Interment Westview Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Clayton Bray
Clayton Bray, age 50, of McDonough, Georgia died Tuesday, September 6, 2005. Mr. Bray was born in Atlanta, the son of John L. and Tommie Jean McGouirk Bray. He was employed with Forest Park Sheet Metal as welder since the age of 14, and graduated from Henry County High School in 1974. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Alfred Bray.
He is survived by his parents; wife, Jayne Bray; sisters, Beverly Cronan of McDonough, Patricia Ann Goulden of Flovilla; brother, Clifford Edward Bray of Forsyth; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday, September 8 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Mack Riley and Rev. Gary DeMore officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may make donations to the First United Methodist Church of McDonough Building Fund. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

David C. McGinnis
David C. McGinnis, age 61 of McDonough, Georgia died Tuesday, September 6, 2005. Mr. McGinnis was born Wednesday, December 15, 1943 in Gwinnett County, the son of the late Carrie Elizabeth Tatum and Roy Carrol McGinnis. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was a former Atlanta Police Officer and loved woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Leisa W. McGinnis of McDonough; children, Scott and Gina McGinnis of Morrow, Rise McGinnis, Mandy and Jamie Champion of Hampton, Brian McGinnis of Stockbridge, and Brandon Glaze of McDonough; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Terri McGinnis of Ellenwood, Tom and Joanne McGinnis of Locust Grove; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Harvey Williams of McDonough, Robin and Ted Waterfall of Dallas; four grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, September 9 at Union Grove Baptist Church. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Wilma Jean Roberts Harmon
Wilma Jean Roberts Harmon, age 65, of McDonough, Georgia died Tuesday, September 6, 2005. She was born Wednesday, July 10, 1940 in Banks County, the daughter of the late Robert Benjamin Roberts. She was a member of the Locust Grove United Methodist Church, loved crafts, reading, and gardening. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Luke Young.
She is survived by her husband, Charles N. “Mr. Charlie” Harmon of McDonough; mother, Kitty Roberts of Gainesville; children, Melanie and John Young of Mansfield, Michelle Harmon of Franklin, North Carolina; sister, Willie Jane Gable of Gainesville; grandchildren, Jeremy Young of Covington and Sheri Mathews of Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Luke and Nathan Young, Jake and Katelyn Mathews; several nieces.
Services were held Thursday, September 8 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug Gilreath and Rev. Ron Capes officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Dennis H. Haynes
Dennis H. Haynes, age 76, of Hampton, Georgia died Wednesday, September 7, 2005. Mr. Haynes was born Tuesday, April 2, 1929 in White County, the son of the late Cleo Ida Loggins and Adie Grover Haynes. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hampton, where he served on several committees. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was a volunteer with the Henry County Sheriff’s Depart-ment, a member of Southern Wheels Motorcycle Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger Dennis Haynes; daughter, Denise Louise Haynes; brothers, Fred and Truitt Haynes; and sister, Dorothy Shedd.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elaine Haynes of Hampton; daughter and son-in-law; Sandra and Jerry Trebbe of Hampton; sisters, Annie Evanoff and Ruby Dodson, both of Lula; brother and sister-in-law, Artis and Kathryn Haynes of Lula; grandchildren, Dean Trebbe, Alex Burdett, Wendy Joyner, Lesley Burdett and Lynda Burdett; and eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, September 10 at First Baptist Church of Hampton, with Rev. Buddy Perstrope, Rev. Harry Shedd, and Rev. Drewy Loggins officiating. Interment Berea Cemetery in Hampton. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Cromwell Dyer Chase, Jr.
Cromwell Dyer Chase, Jr. (Joe), age 68, of Stockbridge, Georgia died Saturday, September 10, 2005. Mr. Chase was born Monday, January 4, 1937 in Putnam, Connecticut, the son of Attie Burton and the late Cromwell Dyer Chase. He grew up in Brooklyn, Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was honorably discharged. While in service, he met and married Peggy Ann Moseley on Saturday, September 22, 1962 at Stock-bridge Presbyterian Church. They were happily married for 43 years. He worked for Vulcan Materials Company of Stock-bridge from 1963-1971 as a heavy equipment operator. In 1971, Joe, Peggy, and their daughter Karen moved to Brooklyn, Connecticut. In 1992, he returned to Stock-bridge and worked at Eagle’s Landing Golf Course and last worked for the City of Stock-bridge. He retired from there in 2004. He was a member of the Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, and loved gardening, woodworking, reading, and puttering around the house. His daughter and granddaughters were the lights of his life. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Gideon Dutremble. He made a lasting impression on every life he touched and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Peggy Chase of Stockbridge; daughter, Karen Chase; son-in-law, Gary Bell; and granddaughters, Elizabeth and Katherine Chase Picciano, all of Augusta; mother, Attie Burton Chase; brother and sister-in-law, Burton and Brenda Chase of Brooklyn, Connecticut; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice Dutremble, Nancy and Henry Charron, Barbara and Gaylen Getchell of Danielson; aunts, Elsie Stark and Doris Johnson of Putnam, Connecticut; 11 nieces and nephews; 20 great nieces and nephews; cousins.
Services were held Tuesday, September 13 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Rev. William Watts Satterwhite, Sr.
Rev. William (Bill) Watts Satterwhite, Sr., age 74, of Stockbridge, Georgia died Wed-nesday, August 17, 2005. Rev. Satterwhite was born Thursday, August 6, 1931, the son of the late Harry Archibald and Gladys Oakley Satterwhite. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a Chaplin (Maj.) after 25 years. He graduated from Oglethorpe University in 1953, and Columbia Theological Seminary in 1956. He was ordained in the Presbytery of Atlanta on Sunday, June 17, 1956 at Kelley Presbyterian Church, where he served as Pastor from 1956-1958. He then served other churches in the metro Atlanta area. He also served Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, from 1976-1981, and Hemphill Memorial Presbyterian Church, from 1954-1958. He was actively involved in church and community activities, serving as Director of the After Care Program for Pope Dickson Funeral Home from 1987- 1992 and as a volunteer chaplain at Henry Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Satterwhite; sons, William Satterwhite, Jr. of Stockbridge, David and Karen Satterwhite of Louisville, Kentucky, Ken and Peyton Satterwhite of Cleveland; grandchildren, Stephanie Satterwhite, Codye and Samantha Satterwhite, Richard Satterwhite, Jonathon Satterwhite; brother, Louie and JoAnne Satterwhite of Stockbridge; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, August 20 at Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. Joe Sandifer, Rev. Jeff Hutcheson, and Rev. Dr. Ed Albright officiating. Interment Hemphill Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of
arrangements.
