She was born in Twiggs County, the daughter of the late Joe and Patience Rozier Carswell. She attended schools in Twiggs County and was formerly customer service representative for the Rite Aid Drug Store in Jeffersonville. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was church clerk and a member of New Hope Gospel Choir. She was a member of Jeffersonville Community Involvement, rendering her services whereever needed.
Survivors include her husband, Rubin Hoskins Sr.; children, Rubin Hoskins Jr. and Timothy Hoskins, both of Jeffersonville, Travis L. Hoskins of Statesboro, Angela D. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Rose Seligman. The widow of James Marshall Lewis Sr., she was an author and historian. She was a member of Temple Israel.

A sixth-grader at Crawford County Middle School, she was involved in basketball and track. She was a member of White Hill Baptist Church and sang in the junior choir.

Born in Plant City, Fla., he was the son of the late T.J. and Lula Crumpler Powell. A Navy veteran, he lived in Unadilla for 52 years before moving to Cochran. He was retired from Robin Air Force Base as avionics maintenance manager. He was a member of Unadilla United Methodist Church.
